  • It's all very impressive, but it leaves me cold. Cochereau knew not subtlety. There's too much gratuitous virtuosity here and not enough heart or soul. You want great improvisation? Go and look up Michel Chapuis improvising on Lutheran chorales at St Ouen, Rouen.
