  • Too bad he kills the microphone sound with that hand over it.

  • boots' energy is incredibly unique and sets him apart from 99% of other rappers for me...awesome

  • Great... politically... on point.

  • I disagree with Boots and The Coup on so much politically but I could listen to him rap all day.

This man is one of the most underrated lyricists of all time.

  • @spiker702 cool...

  • upppp

  • i like the mass retirement plan. i.e. mass stikes & boycotts. shut the system down & take it all back... will it ever be possible???

  • @yviva

that is to say: no killing necessary. taking power via violence usually leads to new systems of violence. strikes, boycotts, civil disobedience, etc. are the way to go.

still, i love this guy :)

  • @yviva A strike, by its very nature, is violent. Strikes can ONLY work by physically blocking replacement workers- "scabs"- from entering the workplace. There's a physical threat of violence to those that try to cross the picket line and be a scab. If, in the end, all a scab or group of scabs need do is use force to cross a picket line (via police, corporate security, or by themselves), then a strike is ineffective. To physically take control of a facility, physical force- "violence"- is needed.

  • @FunkFight1

i'm not sure if that's correct. there are methods of civil disobedience that are non-vionent that can be used that can be effective, but only if people can organize and cooperate together, and to me, the main question is: to what extent are human beings capable of that?

  • @yviva I'm not talking about "civil disobedience" as a whole. I'm talking specifically about historically the most effective form of disobedience. The strike. A labor stoppage aimed at stopping the production of a business in order to cause the owners to negotiate a higher rate of pay for the workers or better working conditions. Boycotts have not been effective to gain those sorts of victories. Strikes take collectively organized force in order to win.

  • @FunkFight1

one thing is clear to me, however. if we're talking about the broader context, i.e. ending the whole master / servant capitalist scenario: violent revolution leads to police states and military dictatorships, because people to whom it makes sense to take power though violence will continue to try to control those around them with violence, as this seems to be their nature.

i think cooperative, non-violent methods are necessary to create a free, peaceful, egalitarian society.

  • @FunkFight1

but, to what extent is our species capable of living in a cooperative, peaceful, egalitarian manner, or is our nature and fate such that the biggest bullies will always take control?

unfortunately, i'm a cynic, so don't make me answer that one...

  • @yviva It's not that the "the biggest bullies" will always take control. The most organized populace can take control. The whole theory behind "power in numbers" is the implied threat of force to the few who would exploit the many. Otherwise, the few violent ones can have their way with the many. No one would stop them, but merely try to guilt them into stopping.

  • @FunkFight1

sure, but the force need only be and obstruction of production, or of government activity, etc. due to one obstacle or another placed in its way: work stoppage, boycott of goods or services, refusal to comply with non-democratic or harmful action on the part of government... no violence necessary. in a sense these are all pacifist activities, simply a refusal to participate with or conform to the will of the powers that be.

  • @yviva those are not pacifist activities, because the only way strikes and work stoppages are successful is if the scabs (or "relief workers") are physically kept out. This takes physical force, or the implied threat of it. Pacifists can't keep scabs out of a factory. Scabs mean the strike&/or the work stoppage does not work. Boycotts are USUALLY unsuccessful due2the difficulty in organizing consumers. When they are successful, it is usually due2bosses not wanting things2turn more militant.

  • @FunkFight1

i don't know... these days i'm hoping that some of the latin american countries will lead the way by demonstrating that some of the changes we're talking about can be acheived through a peaceful democratic process. my hopes aren't super high, because the global context will make progressive change difficult down there. still, i'm watching to see what will happen. history shows that power taken through violence leads to systems of repression & violence so i think it's best to avoid.

  • This is the way things should be done! Down with computer generated stuff....

  • Finally some music that has some good common sense values behind it.
