  • I love miatas. sure, they're not the most powerful cars, but the chassis is just AMAZING... they're a blast to drive an when you drive with the top down, well, you just can't help to smile every mothafuck'n time.

  • I do give the Miata Props for going with a Chevy engine though. Ussually can't go wrong with that.

  • reminds me of a sunbeam tiger. awesome job mate!

  • Fuck. I wonder the power to weight ratio on that Miata. ahah Fucken BEAST!

  • Dont take much to outrun a BMW.

  • @matrox

Please have a clue as to what you're talking about before you shit. It's not as though it's a stock BMW 4 door. According to the OP, it's putting down 300 to the wheels.

I'm curious as to what, exactly, you drive. Not that I expect you to be honest. I'm sure if you respond at all, it'll be to tell me how you drive some expensive, ultra fast supercar. My money says you drive a Cobalt, or a Neon.

I drive a 350z (Track model), and I'm building a BMW coupe with an LS1. Just for the record.

  • @matrox 2011 Camaro

  • fukin ricer ........lmao

  • @jmecrg not even close to being a ricer

  • @jmecrg

Point out where the rice is... I don't see it.

For future reference, swapping engines has nothing to do with rice.

Rice would be, for example: melon shooter mufflers, enormous spoilers (especially on FWD cars), vinyl graphics, neon lighting, and the list, sadly, goes on...

    Get a clue, champ.

  • @Apollo04103 i said it in a joking way .....i read the title clearly "LS1 miata" i know what LS1 is thats the whole reason i watched it .....

  • @jmecrg

    Sure sure.

  • How much boost was that e36 running? Because about a bar of boost would put him at a similar power/weight ratio... and this race wasn't even close.

  • Little cars with big engines are cool.

  • Want a head start LOOOOOOL. That dumbass got OWNED. I would take a V8 powered Miata any day of the week.

  • @LyricalJohn

Please. Pleeeeeeease stop posting on car videos. You very clearly have no business being here.

What on Earth would possess you to talk shit like it was you driving or like it was your car?

This is the problem with the car world today. People like you muddy up the waters for the rest of us real car enthusiasts. You watch a video and immediately think you're Dominic Torretto.

  • How's the handling compared to stock, can you notice the extra weight?

  • thats a cocky ass look on his face

  • Are you guys really talking about MPG with a modified car? Does it even Fking matter how many MPG it gets? Just make it fast. Who cares how many MPG it gets. If you want speed and MPG get a Fking motorcycle. Mine will got 147 stock and still average around 40 MPG city. I'm sure it still beats the shit out of that gay ass modified civic you are talking about!

  • that really wasnt as bad as i thought it was gonna b...lol... the line of a loser

  • @UtubeACCno1 what if you know your fast? which category is that?

  • hi wanted to do that to my TVR Chimaera.how hard do u think it ll be???i live in malaysia.i ll be using an Ls1,HOW MUCH DOES it affect the handling???tks

  • @chimaera1855 it wont affect handling that much because the LS1 Engine is made of Aluminum

  • @chimaera1855 your TVR will need just as much work as the miata, and if your fabbing your own mounts just put the motor as low and as rearward as possible to keep all the handeling goodness! A lot of people run the 90's thunderbird rears with 302's, idk about LS1 or LS/LT series for that matter in regards to what rear is recommended! anyway, best of luck with your project.

  • @UtubeACCno1 unlike the super manly MIATA?

  • hahaha ass kicked!

  • Lotta hate on here from people with boring cars. Neat miata :]. Always wanted one of these to scare the children with,

  • M6 '02 SS.

  • props to the camera man for not sticking it out the window

  • @philb23 uh, its a stock v8, and "family coupe" (saloon is 4-door...) with a turbo INLINE-6. Good try though.

  • @npartist Ah semantics, well done. It's atill a smaller lighter car with a bigger engine against a bigger car with a smaller engine.

If you raced your miata against a scania truck with a 420hp 6 cylinder engine your miata would win too, but thats cos it'd be racing a truck. 'But-holy-crap-the-truck-has-more-powah-what-does-this-mean!1?!' I hear you say? Nothing it means nothing. Its the obvious outcome to anyone with half a brain.

  • Don't get me wrong, grats on your car. Its just no suprise this was the outcome..

Meh forget it im not even sure of my point now.

  • @jamesnotnev I am the "he" who put the engine in, its my car.... Its a stock v8 meaning its a production V8 out of a 2002 Camaro Z28. No, it isn't stock on the miata but it is a stock motor, no aftermarket mods.

  • @npartist you are the he? =O..then i'd like to say thank you for the inspiration first of all....and sorry for the missunderstaning then cheers

  • @npartist in a car that weighs around 100 pounds lol

  • @packerdmohar1 Yeh..its a Go-Kart with a plastic body.

  • the guy with a v12 is a POS jag engine ls1 pwns them, and GL with mechanic bills on a jag lol

  • I got the exact same color 95 year miata m edition, they're very light, 2400 lbs with me in it, 2200 lbs w/o.

  • haha what a smug bastard, he's not even trying! LOL

  • Pretty fast Miata.

  • did he even downshift? lol it's like he just took off in 5th :)

  • I laugh at anyone who thinks they can take this miata =]

  • just like my brothers miata, has an LS1 in it too... and i have a 1uz V8 in an S13 nissan... check my vids :P

  • ok guys stop comparing cars that are COMPLETELY in diff. classes come on a gt500 vs. a civic that's like comparing a rain storm to a hurricane. If you gonna compare cars at least stay in the right class. EX (for the dumasses) miata vs. integra Ferrari vs. Porsche mustang gt vs. camaro ss

  • No rotary v.s. all of the above.

  • escort gt vs. civic? does that work?

  • if there both stock lol, I agree with your other comment.

  • Thats pretty impresive that they stufed a V8 into a miata, props guys

  • Dude there is a video of a guy with a V12 in his Miata!!! A V12!!!!!!!!!

  • @kushnugz more power to him... that had to be a tite fit...

  • all this honda talk is making me sick. yeesh

  • I love how the guy at the end says " it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be" when they just got walked on like they weren't even accelerating.

  • hahaha yeah i was laughing at that too it looked like the beem didn't even go

  • erm transaxle is relative to transmission and axle in 1 unit... rear wheel drive, porsche first used it

  • @novanerved

Wrong, the transaxle has been in use since atleast 1914.

  • the new civic has a bigger base engine than ever, while still being able to get 32 city/ 42 highway gas mileage. the Accord has a 3.5liter with near 300hp and running 13 second 1/4 mile, a first for the accord. All while getting the as usual near 30 mpg. the Hayabusa and ZX14 have these huge engines and are so fast, but the engines will only get bigger and the bikes will get faster. All cars engines are bigger now just look at 90's bmw, honda, chevy, or whatever and look at them now.

  • Do you know why I would never buy a Honda? Because I don't like slow FWD cars.

Driving a Civic means you have to drop to second gear on the highway to pass someone.

A 13 second stock Accord? That's a drag time for the Camaro SS and Mustang GT500, not your mom's grocery getter.

Why do people pretend FWD Hondas are race cars?

The thing about Honda kids, is that they're obsessed with the Civic or the Accord, but they completely forget about the S2000 or the NSX which actually were sports cars.

  • i hate Hondas other than the S2000. I was just pointing out some shit about them having bigger engines now, just like most all car companies. Yes agreed I don't understand how you can want a civic or accord and think it's a bad ass car. I remember wanting a Z28, corvette, cobra, and that kind of shit but I never looked twice at a civic because it's not even an interesting car.

  • By far the stupidest thing i heard all day,

too bad the honda engineers made the civic to be a affordable and reliable good sedan and sports coupe. It was never intended to be a race car and many are slow. Although civics are still great cars, compare them to ANY american car in the price range and they don't beat it. How can you compare a $55,000 GT500 with a $17,000 civic? Are you honestly stupid? Lets see GT500 handle corners, oh yeah sorry no limited-slip differential.

  • I wasn't comparing the Civic to the GT500.

I was pointing out that AJballer is an idiot for thinking the Accord has the same trap time as the GT500.

On the track, FWD sucks. It just plain sucks. Limited slip or not, all you're going to do is get under-steer if you put any power down in a turn.

The 2009 GT500 sucks at corners. The 2010 GT500 is an entirely different beast.

  • gt500 pulls a .96g on laterial acceleration, 2010 gt500 is the best handling mucsle car outta them all.

  • just to be a bitch, I'll note that the Integra Type-R is well known to be one of the best handling cars of the 90s, and I suppose technically you could say it's a Honda in certain markets.

That said I understand what you're trying to say and agree completely.

  • Perfect. Effortless american muscle with lightweight great handling chassis.

This will stop biased people talking.

I would love to own this.

  • I completely agree with you.

  • @lt1eg6 not a fan of miatas... look really bad

  • I dropped one in my 944, its a killer with that motor.

  • I know what you mean! I bought a black one that's about 11" long and has a suction cup for mounting to the wall of my shower. It feels great! The first thing I do every morning is back my ass up to it and - wait, "Nathan's LS1 Miata" ?!? OH, FU

  • Doesn't the LS1 make 400 crank-hp? Even with the WHP calculation, the 1800lb Miata beats the 2600lb BMW on paper. The video is just to rub your face in it.

  • It makes 350-375hp crank. Miatas don't weigh 1800lbs and 325i don't weigh 2600lbs either.... add several hundred pounds to each of those numbers. But yes I have a better power to weight.

  • Yeah more like 2100 - 2300lb depending on the model. I weighed my 1990 base model at 2107lb with a quarter tank of fuel, that's totally stock.

  • with everything added to make the car perform correct with the v8 swap.. (engine to tires) the miata ends up being about 2600lb with still very close to 50/50 balance.

  • @npartist the miatas weigh 2200 lbs, not 1800.

  • @gibbletz and the E36 sedan weighs 3100 to 3200 with Turbo gear and add some more for the passenger. Maybe the bimmer owner can crank up the boost.

  • LOL at a 325i weighing 2600lbs.

  • hahaha effortless lol

  • Now here's MY question.....all these people bitch about imports.....but this Miata has a dumbestic motor.....so what's it now fuckers??

  • I'll tell you what it is now... Time to stop bitching about import vs domestic. LS1/T56 is an awesome motor and the MX5 an awesome chassis. My brakes are from US, seats from Japan, who gives a crap?

  • but that's my whole point.......

  • My bad TLTBoy, more power to ya!!

  • haha, I tried to convince people! It's hard man!

    cheers!

  • "Dumbestic"? That's probably the dumbest spelling of "domestic" I've ever seen. At least it's kind of ironic.

  • ironic is what I was after

  • now its a real car.only reason i bitch about imports is because 1. most of them are FWD and i think FWD is fucking stupid.(i know some domestics are fwd...)2.I hate ppl thinking they can make a civic fast. 3.Any car with less than 8 cylinders isnt a real race car.proof-nascar,F-1,Funny cars.imports are great for getting grocery's though. just like wannabe imports like the cobalt.i hate dat shit.

  • and yet the not real cars can keep up with the real cars. Grow up dude. FWD cars are built for a reason.

  • yes they are built for more interior space and they are cheaper to produce. no drive shaft going through the middle= more space, bench seats, keep costs low cuz no differential.that is the reason why they are made.not for performance.

  • no differential? Just stop talking dude. You're making a fool of your self.

  • lol my bad meant no driveshaft dunno why i put that.either way they dont have a differential, they have a transaxle...

  • what? youre just saying the names of parts and not making any sense. do you know what a transaxle is?

  • no driveshaft*

  • lol.... every rear wheel drive car has BOTH a drive shaft AND a transaxle...

    stop talking...

  • not true, think mid-engined. My fiero doesn't have a driveshaft

  • im sorry you are correct. I meant every front engined RWD car. fiero, nsx, porsches, etc. Im aware :) Just a slip of the tongue :)

  • front engine rear wheel drive cars don't have transaxles... They have a seperate transmission and differential. a transaxle is a transmission and differential in 1 like in FWD cars..

  • Wow you know that most f1 cars are 4Cyl right? They might be 4 cylinder but they are turboed have 750+ hp....

  • f1 cars? f1 cars have a 2.4 liter normally aspirated v8. i think your talking about indy cars

  • ummm dude i dunt wat u are trying to say but watever it is is bullshit ... no f1 car in the 20th century has had a turboed 4 cyl engine lmfao in 1996 they intrduced a high rpm and high output v10 engine 22 000 max rpm and around 850++ hp now days in 2007 the f1 federation changed the ngines to v8 same HP and rpm max the change was due to the high prices for race gas go search up google it if you want but i have been following F1 since i knew it existed and from wat i know no formula 1

  • has ever had 4cylinder turboed engines if u have anything that says that i am wrong show it up O YEAH AND NO NEED TO BEEF so please keep it peace full

  • Think most F1 cars of the the late 20th century 1980 - 90s+ period had 4 cylinder turboed engines??

  • lmfao no no dude read the post up top from 69albanian69 saiys that most f1 cars have turboed 4 cyl engines which is very very very wrong and untrue read youll understand

  • OK, yeah, I see, yes that's wrong. F1 cars of the 80's - 90's had 4 cylinder turboed engines, (1500cc 1200BHP) You meant no f1 car in the 21st century has had a turboed 4 cyl engine.

  • whoops that one flew by my head yeah prctically since the high output v10 was introduced before i think they had 6 in line turbo and before the 4 cyl turbo ... lol thanks .. and now making the same 900hp of the v10 in a v8 more power less weigth more speed and acceleration lol

  • Yes you can't beat the V8's & V10's :) Search, "Shell Ferrari Advert" for V8 & V10 F1's ;-)

  • most f1/indy cars are small litre high RPM v8 engines. look up the specs.

  • I agree with you, FWD is fucking stupid, Honda Civic's can be fast when they're built in a striaght line, but any form of forced induction makes them torque steer horribly. However, I disagree with you that you need to have 8 cylinders. A lot of race car series use race derived straight 6s, v6s, and a lot of turbo i-4s. Just because you don't have a big motor doesn't mean you can't get huge power out of it. You are probably an advocate of "they're aint no replacement for displacement" aren't you

  • There isn't a replacement. You're into hondas, would you rather have a B16(civic) or a K20(RSX) or a F22(S2000). yes the B16 can make power and is a proven platform, but it simply doesn't hold a candle the other two. put a B16 in a RSX and you're 14 second car suddenly becomes a 17 second car with roughly the same mpg. sorry but displacement will never be replaced.

  • BMW 1.5L turbocharged 4 could make 1200bhp.

  • Don't know how reliable that would be but I'm sure it's possible. wouldn't it perform better in every aspect if it were bored and stroked out to 2.0 liters? That's why when you use a 3.4 stroker on the supra's 3.0 you can run more boost and get closer to 2,000hp rather than being limited to about 1,600. That's why they make these stroker kits man. bigger is BETTER. All car and motrcycle companies are using larger engines. Hayabusa now has 1360cc. Honda civic now has 1.7L, accord 3.5L.

  • The reason why Honda is making their engines larger is in an effort to make more torque. Bigger is better in terms of torque numbers and torque curves but smaller engines are more responsive and generally lighter but that all really has to do with the material the motor is made out of.

  • Sorry dude but the old 1.5 isn't as responsive as the new 1.7, in any sense of the word. And an engine's displacement can be changed by bore and stroke without a larger block. the LS1 is the smallest displacement of the Ls engines at 5.7L, The LS7 is nearly identical design in external dimensions but it's bored to the max for alluminum. I gaurantee you the LS7 is more responsive at ANY rpm or under any amount of load.

  • you are an idiot. Porche all of them are 4 or 6 no 8. they suck. ive seen under 10 second front wheel drive 4 bangers as daily drivers. Cobalt isnt an import either.

  • Porsche 928 is a V8.

  • I'm a rally fan but I think i remember something about a guy named Carroll Shelby making racing Mustangs and being fairly successful.

  • That V8 miata gets better mileage than a lot of turbo 4cyl setups. The LS1 in a corvette matched to a 6sp gets 25 on the highway and this thing weighs more than 700lbs less.

  • The LS1 is in an NA (90-97) which were about 2100lbs stock...the conversion only adds about 150lbs or so. The NC (06+) Miatas are closer to 2500lbs stock.

  • uhh the ls1 first came in production in 97 in the vettes. then in 98 to the camaros and TAs and stopped prudction in 2002.

your confused with an lt1 kiddo. get your facts correct please.

  • Um, he swapped an LS1 into the Miata. See the title. That's what I'm talking about.

  • They used the LS1 in the 2004 GTO's though, so youre wrong. It was also in the Corvettes until after 2004. After that most applications went to the LS2. But the LS1 is still in production and you can order it brand new from GM if you want too.

  • you're fucking stupid.

  • my 2004 mazdaspeed miata weighed in at 2200 lbs on a scale before I did my dity move (military).

  • ok, i drive a mx5 with a 1.8 engine, I love fours... but the whole "sport car" thing has nothing to do with ur MPG. if you ask me a civic is not a race car either, it could hardly understeer out of a roundabout, let alone win a race without some serious money put in. a true car enthusiast would probably enjoy 500Nm more than 30mpg.

  • Lsx miata get 30 mpg on the highway. I get about 23 around town and I don't drive for fuel economy. Oh, and it does high 11's in the quarter...

  • @markespo1 with the right mods a ls1 can get 30mpg an run low 12 to high 11 in the quarter just so u know

  • @markespo1 dude.... you have a civic and run 13's? You have to at least have a turbo, cause civics, like miatas are slow as fuck stock.... and yes, having a V8 in a IRS, RWD 2400-2500 lb. car would make it a sports car.

Seriously I can't ever having a FWD car unless it was purely for DD.

  • @markespo1 - fuel economy goes out the door when you start modding a car. Let me know when you find a Honda that can hit 11's and still get 30mpg. Look up some of the Z06 Corvettes on here, they are doing it.

  • @JayGeePee1 well said.

  • Almost every mustang and camaro made with a V8 since the mid 80s and some before get over 15mpg

When my 1995 GT was stock i got around 22 to 25mpg on the highway,

Friends 2002 SS camaro got about 20 to 23 mpg highway,

Both cars were manuals "5 and 6 spds"

  • @markespo1 i think your just scared to run a v8 ;) haha

  • @markespo1 I've gotten up to 32mpg in my '02 SS. So don't use gas mileage as a con.

  • @markespo1 i hate people like you. My camaro with an ls1 got 30mpg on the highway and did well in the city too. I can only imagine how good on gas an ls1 is in a miata. Tool. People who drive v8s obviously don't give a fuck about fuel economy even though ls1's get good gas mileage.

  • @markespo1 Yeah they can run 13 second quarter mile if you change the engine and turbo and it's still a shitbox, and way to be uneducated before you speak ls1s get up to 19 to 21 city and 27 highway mpg in the 98-02 camaros and the new corvettes LS3 430hp V8 gets 23 city and up to 27 to 28 highway, but to each their own just know what your talking about.

  • @markespo1 civics cant run a 13 second 1/4 mile without dumping cash into them, i personally get 23mpg out of my car, and currently the mustang and camaro are sports cars....damn youre a ricer lol

  • @markespo1 the miata is a sports car, the camaro SS is a sports car the mustang GT is a sports car, I just can't believe you said none of these cars are sports cars you don't know anything

  • @96integra02 he is smart of course, they are not sports car's...they weigh to much and take one around a turn and you can tell from the body roll they aren't sports car's

  • zoom zoom

    FTW

  • hell yeah, always does!

like the commercial says, more Mazdas being raced and winning, start with the best street cars and end with the best race cars.

  • LS won......
