  • Wonderful. But it is too bad we need wild animal rescues at all!!!

  • @atticusvilly888 We agree our ultimate goal is to put ourselves out of "business" we spend a lot of time on legislative work to get laws changed regarding the possession of these animals etc...

  • iv said it before u guys r absolutley amazing!!!!!!!!!!!! im donanting asap!!!!!! i show all my friends and family vids by BigCatRescue all the time they are just as amazed as i am!!! great work guys!!

  • @johnnypalermo1806 Thanks so much for your support!! :)

  • I must say the Nikita looks like a very pretty lioness

  • I donated 100 dollars hope it helps!

  • @AureWhiteDot Thank you so much for your support! :)

  • Haha I love how Nik was like OMG it's SCOTT! :D *rubrubrubrubrub* <3

  • Could we put Dick Cheney in there and film it and see what happens?

  • I just love it, when I hear that any animal gets saved from moronic idiots who have absolutely no respect for them and don't even care if they live or die! A big round of applause for you guys!! Dedicating you lives to rescue animals in danger!!! And I know I shouldn't be saying this, but damn Scott....you're one hell of a hunk....hotness to the max!!!

  • what would you have to be on to think a lion would be a goo..

    oh right.

It makes the python rescued from a drug house that was taken in by the place where I am studying vet nursing look almost normal.

I have to say, she looks much more healthy now.

  • she SNEEZED HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA LOL

  • Poor Nikki, i dont know how they could have had her de-clawed...

  • I love to hear these cats' life stories. More! More! Also, Is BCR working to educate other animal sanctuaries - or would-be sanctuaries - on ways to improve their conditions, so the world doesn't have just one BCR, but many?

  • @customcartoons Yes we recently held a workshop at BCR for the Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries where we share ideas and discuss ways to help each other, we have a Canyon (sand cat) spotlight coming out this week! :)

  • 0:04 did i just saw a big cat with pupkin? :D

  • @ANNIHILATIONp0WER Yep! They get pumpkins every halloween :)

  • @BigCatRescue Nice! You sure love this cats, i like them a lot too :)

  • @BigCatRescue Hi this was awesome, it's so good to have people like you on this planet god bless ;) Greetings from southern Sweden :)

  • wow the lion winked at 2:25 to 2:29

  • Can u do a video about that liger Freckles please

  • @peanutbutterrocks8 We are going to be making one very soon :)

  • Hey i really wanna know more about Freckles and liger i think i they r so cool and i seem to have a intrest in a cat that is very very very rare in the wild (not that i dont like the other cats a am i crazy fan of wild cats) can u like make a video of him please i wanna know what his background is so when i see u one day i will know a lot or at least what u know!

  • @peanutbutterrocks8 Liger are not natural in the wild n_~

  • you guys are my heros

  • one of the best jobs in the world....what a lucky guy.

  • I know this is not the best of places to post this link but, I want people to see how important organizations such as BCR actiually are. This link that you will/will not choose to see, is the bottom of the morality barrel that we humans have. It's a disgrace. Look at it and well... Try not to find the people responsible, be the bigger person.. watch?v=yPacPvoJvk4&feature=related

  • why does her face look so different to other lionesses?

  • @binashraf They all look different??

  • @BigCatRescue no, her head looks wider or something, can't quite put my finger on it, and her forhead etc seems to be more wrinkled than i've seen on other lionesses, maybe she's just heavier, i duno :P lol

  • nikita - 580 ibs lioness , ahahha lions forever the best

  • what a wonderful place BIG CAT RESCUE is, so many educated and empathetic ppl to care for them, its a shame we have to have places like these, big cats belong in the wild, but we are very blessed to have ppl with so much conviction and dedication to take care of these beautiful animals.this job has to be hard and rewarding at the same time. thank you all for sharing videos of these magnificent creatures along with their sometimes sad stories.we appreciate all your hard work and dedication.

  • I love how when Scott says, "She is a very dangerous animal," Niki winks at the camera.

  • isnt there a tiger named nikita too?

  • @ivesour Yep, we also have a Simba tiger and Simba leopard, sorry it's so confusing :)

  • I've been reading alot about drug dealers that keep big cats and alot of them would feed opposing drug dealers and other enemies to their "pets" Any chance she ate someone?

  • @preyitem I guess we'll never know... I seriously doubt it though??

  • Is it true that Lions are more aggresive then tigers

  • @17animallove In general lions are grumpier in captivity, but it all depends on that particular cat...

  • @BigCatRescue I thought frome all the videos I have watched of yours and I have watched allmost all of them lol that it seamed that the lions were more but Nikita seams to be one of those cats that makes people look at them and say that does not look dangerous and give them the thinking that they can be tamed like the tiger Cookie

  • I love Scott he is so funny

  • she beautifull XD

  • Shame on the vet that declawed her.

If it wasn't a vet, no matter. Shame on them too.

  • How the hell do people get a lion and lie it up in a basment..? LOL.

  • lol i'm assuming thanksgiving is her favorite holiday!

  • Oh god, she looks so happy to see you, rubbing against the fence and making happy grunts for you! <3

The feeding demonstration was definitely an eye opener though. It really shows that, no matter how kind and trusting these cats can act towards a human, they are still wild animals, and are very dangerous! Definitely not an ideal pet.

Keep up all of the great work you do!

  • awesome kitty! i would play with her if i was you though. i doubt i would be able to resist--if she would eat me then so be it :) i think she is too cool for that. it definitely seems that she is very appreciative of your work. good job rescuing her. sounds like it was lots of work.

  • she had been declawed... (sneeze) bless you

  • I was almost convinced the drug dealer got the lioness to protect his drugs until it was mentioned she got declawed. I guess the teeth would be enough though.

  • Awww poor kitty girl, it's very sad that she will never be able to live in the wild.

  • Do any these animalsever get reintroduced into the wild?

  • @malicious11294 Only the bobcats we rescue that have been orphaned by hunters or injured on the roads etc... Former pets which is what many of our cats are cannot be released :)

  • Saw the posting on Facebook and had to watch this again. It's still a powerful message to anyone willing to listen and believe it - WILD animals belong in the WILD, not to be used and abused by people for money or fame. Plus, wild animals are still dangerous, even 'Niki Lion' towards someone she trusts, like Scott. By the way, how is Scotty doing these days? Been a long time . . . Thanks BCR, for everything, including the education.

  • @onekinkstar Scott's doing good, he's working on getting his own show!

  • This is terribly cruel. Chicken with no breading, no hot sauce, and no cole slaw. This should be reported.

  • MINE! My chicken! Your not getting BBQ tonight cameraman! nomnomnom

  • Niggaz smokin crack tryin to keep a lion captive

  • How do you get to work for an animal rescue? my daughter wants to know what classes she may need in school that will help.

  • @claradarling Hi, anything, biology, animal management, zoology etc.. would be an advantage, we recruit from our volunteer base, many of our volunteers have no such quals just experience. It might be worth contacting other organizations and asking the best route also :)

  • with experience and hands on training with her you could have a save contact realtionship. And i think you should redo the cage that fencing is wobbly!

  • @Evasayshi123 You can NEVER have a safe contact relationship with these animals they are WILD and ALWAYS will be, no matter how well "trained" you think they are or how much you love them they can still attack and kill you if they felt like it. Our cages are designed that way they are cylindrical and have some give, sturdy yet flexible :)

  • @BigCatRescue oh okay.

  • lmaoo that drug dealer loved home protection lol

  • Love it!

  • My favorite animal is a lion!

  • My favorite big cat is a lion and lioness!!

  • Love your channel!

  • Thank God for people like you guys. It's a sick world and it is fantastic to see that people still care and are making a difference.

  • Thank God for people like you guys. It is a sick world and it is great to see that people care and are making a difference.

  • lol 1:28 bless you xD

  • does raw chicken make them sick??

  • No, everything they eat is raw :)

  • nice vid

  • this lion has a very different head shape to most african lions i have seen .

  • is this the lion from grandmas boy ?

  • gets me tear-eyed to listen to her sad pas, great that she ended up in a good home, with people that understands her and her needs. She is beautiful,i hope you find a friend for her to live with one day. = )

  • What is it like to live on the grounds?! A very unique experience, I'd wager!

  • a wild tiger will tear apart a pet lion into pieces

  • =) we have the same name!!!! to funny

  • lol @ 1:30 chu~

  • Hi, I'm 18 male from UK, just wondering how you got into doing work like this?

  • Hi, this is Chris the videographer answering (also from UK!) if you were referring to Scott he started as a volunteer at the sanctuary and was asked to become the first paid staff member and moved on property to work full time!

  • @BigCatRescue that is so good to hear haha, because im offering to volunteer at the nearest zoo, and im hoping so badly that after a while they might offer me a job! working with such amazing animals (with big cats being my fav of course) would be a dream come true!

  • Do you ever touch them, even just a paw? Just curious. I wouldn't go into a cage with them either, but wondering how tame they can be with familiarity and a full belly.

  • We never do, I'm sure you could get away with it until you are distracted one day and they rip your arm off, but no we have no contact with our cats and clean form the outside also!

  • My kitty acted that way when she caught a mouse, brought it home and deposited it in the middle of the garage. Then she started eating it, and growled if I came anywhere near her.

I was 13 then and couldn't understand why she would think I'd want to eat a freshly killed rodent. Yick.

I guess there are similarities between large and small cats.

  • Ha, protecting it's dinner, that's funny, they are very similar as they say "a cat is a cat is a cat" but these cats can kill if they feel like it!

  • Which is the cat that doesn't have teeth, b/c the lady in Ohio had it declawed and defanged?

  • That would be Joseph's pride, Sasha (lioness), Nikita (male tiger), Simba (tigress) have all been declawed and defanged. Joseph the male lion as been declawed but still as his incisor teeth.

  • Hi! First off, I'd like to thank you and your staff for all that you do for the big cats... :) I have 2 questions about Niki Lion:

    1. Was she moved to a larger enclosure because she's overweight? She seems to have quite the belly. :)

    2. I've never noticed spots on a lion before... Is she a particular type of lion, or is this unique?

Again, thank you for sharing your stories with us! :) I look forward to your reply.

  • Hi, thanks we do our best! Niki was moved so we can improve and do maintenance on her other enclosure, plus it's a great form of enrichment for our cats to move around to a new cage as you can see in the video! She's not overweight, this is just how big cats look :) She's an african lion, but you're right she does have some markings left which is unusual as they normally fade out by maturity.

  • is it possible one of her parents couldve been a liger? that could explain the odd spots

  • No, she's just different I guess, I've seen other lions that are the same :)

  • id act the same around my food:D haha DONT TUCH ITS MINE

  • Yep, same here, see how quick her attitude changes though thats the scary thing!

  • you are doing a wonderful job. It must be hard when extra money would help you do so much more but I think putting these videos on youtube will raise awareness and funds for your cause. You really present well over the videos and have a great clear speaking voice. Thank you for being the front man. It would not work so well with someone else.

  • Thanks for the compliments, you're right Scott is a good representative of BCR and does a great job on speaking out on behalf of these animals.

  • Freckles has freckles all over his cheeks, that's why :P

  • Obvious right? :)

  • I cannot believe you called the Liger 'Freckles'. :D

Seriously, who named it? Victor Cohen? :D

  • Freckles is the name she came with, we very rarely get the opportunity to name a cat as we do not breed at BCR and most of our rescues are of older cats :)

  • Would like to put the vet who agreed to declaw her in the cage to be one of her turkey dinners.

You guys rock. Thanks for what you do. :-)

  • Or maybe de claw him/her?

  • you have a good speaking voice

=) you should think about that for the future.

  • Lol, can't believe you named him Freckles.

  • Freckles is the name she came with, we very rarely get the opportunity to name a cat as we do not breed at BCR and most of our rescues are of older cats :)

  • I see that she's very loving to you.

  • well, she is kind of Cte, remind me of a kitty, but yaa, I still know shes not a pet

  • i've gotta subscribe :)

I've watched two of ur video and i'm already addicted LOL

  • Ha, ha the BIG CAT illness, I could watch these guys and girls all day too!

  • cant beleive she was kept in a basement or somthing. omg thats so sad. poor girl. take good care of her BigCatRescue. she needs it.

  • When i saw her getting upset about her food for a moment she was almost like back in the wild.. getting her mouthful of zebra, eating it fast almost scared that someone takes it away. Wild animal indeed... totally not pet, and shouldnt be anyway. Those animals are great only cos they are meant to be free:D

  • Thanks for commenting we wish everyone had the same view as you! :)

  • My heart shattered a little bit hearing of the horrible situation this poor girl went through.. While it's sad she'll never have that interaction in the wild with other lions.. I think where she is now is the best thing for her.

I can't imagine releasing her to the wild without any claws to defend herself or hunt with.. and just imagine if she had never been confiscated.. actually, no, do NOT imagine that as it's probably heartbreaking and awful.

    She's beyond beautiful!

  • When that lion sneezed it scared me, i went back to the part and it still scared me.

  • Funny, it made me jump a bit when I was filming too! Like how Scott just takes it in his stride :)

  • why dont you touch/scratch her?

  • Firstly it's dangerous, even if you weren't near the pointy end these cats are huge and they could just rub along the enclosure and crush your hand/arm. Secondly we are a no contact facility because we don't want to encourage the idea that these animals can be "tamed" and be kept as "pets" because this is NOT the case. Thanks for watching :)

  • *cat sneezes* oh, bless you! lmao

  • 4:12 aww look at his tonge! sooo cute ^_^. he's all like "Stop filming me or i'll give u raseberrys!! THHHHHPPPPPPP!" XD

  • Yeah or bite your arm off! :)

  • lolz pretty much ^_^

  • =3 it wont attack him if he goes in, cuz she knows if he dies, no food OR her sweet sweet chicken, or turkey X3

  • I wouldn't bet money on that! You never know with these animals what they are thinking or what they might feel like doing, definitely safest to stay on the other side of the enclosure!

  • I want to pet that lion, but i know it would rip through that cage if it wanted to.

  • it's a fully grown lioness

  • aww wow, how'd you guys start this idea? or foundation, whatever the rescue is? i love how respectful you are of the fact she IS a lion, a predator. she loves you in the way lions love, very sweet. you guys know your stuff. great video~!!

  • Hi, we started back in 1992 when our founder shut down a fur farm and brought all 56 bobcat and lynx kittens back to Tampa! Since then we have learned a lot as a sanctuary, we now have over 130 big cats and are at the forefront of trying to get the laws changed regarding private ownership of exotic animals. Thanks for commenting :)

  • At least she now has a home with people who give a damn. I bet when the drug dealers got nicked they never got charged with animal cruelty.

Funny her prefering the tigers...he he. Maybe she wants a pride of Tigons he he.

  • When I was little I always wanted to have a tiger and spoil it.

I know someone who keeps a bob cat, though. Its deffinately happy and loves people.

People are really afraid of it though XD..

  • I'd definitely be afraid of it too! Bobcats can take down prey 8 times their own weight in the wild deer-person same thing! What state do the people live in?

  • Canada.

The government checks out his house every few years to see if he treats the animal right and etc.

  • I still find that sad maybe this bobcat is the exception to the rule, being stuck in a house isn't the best life for a bobcat :(

  • He literally has loads and loads of land for it to adventure around. But it doesnt really like to go out there for more than a couple hours, it stays near the house where he is :P

  • Your The Best People In The World:)

..... i love chicken too but not raw :)

  • Haa ha, you rock.

  • Why is contact such a big deal? What about that guy who steps right in with the lions, or, Christian the lion, the one that remembered the guys that raised him, and ran up to greet them... didn't bite, didn't even extend claws, just ran up and gave em a big hug.

  • Because many people are attacked and killed by captive big cats each year! You just never know with big cats, they can perform in circus/entertainment acts for years then just decide to attack, acting on their wild instincts which they can't be blamed for. People who choose to have contact with these animals are the ones to blame.

  • lol, they could make special suits that protect from being clawed, rigid neck shield that prevents them from stopping your breathing, etc :P

But tell me, out of every time someone comes into contact with a big cat, using the proper feline etiquette, how many have been attacked?

Of those attacks, how many had the intent to actually kill, and were not roughhousing?

  • There are no exact records about how many people come into contact with big cats etc... but the bottom line is people have been killed by having contact with big cats and this will continue unless it is stopped.

  • It's really one of the least things to worry about in the world. More people die coming into contact with other humans than with animals.

I've seen people who can be very unpredictable and violent before, only difference is they don't weigh 400 pounds and have claws and fangs

  • Definitetly without a doubt humans are the most unpredictable, dangerous and violent creatures on the planet, but that doesn't change the fact that if contact was not allowed with big cats precious lives would be saved.

  • Sooooo, if a Lion (a huge great big killing machine) is whipped into submission by some twonk who wants him to jump a hoop...forced to live in a tiny cage...not his full quota of food....heck prob even declawed (sick).

Damn, I would want to tear that ring master and all his mates a new arsehole. A human in that position would be crazed to the same brink.

It is not instinct, its frustration

  • Like humans, some people or animals would tear him apart.

  • Lions are wild animals, they belong in the wild and they can never be domesticated. I did watch the Christian video thing and I guess they're like the rare exception here... but it's not like they visited and played with the lion every day or anything... I mean if they did I'm sure there would be an incident where the lion accidentally bit em or something unintentionally. Check out their teeth, size, power. One tiny bite = jeopardy

  • Thanks for commenting :)

  • I like the part when he made it clear that the lioness is better of living in the wild with a pride of other wild lions instead of living in captivity..thus made viewers understand that their intention of putting these wild animals is none other but to save them.

  • zirus lol shut up dumbass no body cares,..

  • hey, come on, this is not the place to fight.

  • Nikki Lion is awesome!

Her sense of smell would tell her Scott isn't the drug dealer :)

Scott is amazing, not only does he love these cats, and actually treats them as part of his family , he still doesn't pet them, that must be hard to resist but he cares too much about them to think about how he feels. Best Cat Keeper on the planet Scott!

  • they should keep trying to put another lionness or tigerness with her

  • If i had the money(and if i was old enough) I would so fly up ther and help you out, please don't call me a liar, but, a lot of animals I meet i seem to bond with them fairly quick, i know this because there was a dog that bit my brother causing him t o bleed , and like 4 years later i smooth talked the dog and i was able to hug him and groom him and so many other things, i knew it was dangorous but i just knew he wasn't going to attack me somehow ,sry for not bein able to help out,

  • i think niki has a crush on you~~ haha

@ niki- chill its just chicken

  • i don't remember which video it was, so i'm gonna ask you

this on this random video, in one of the videos you said

that some tiger (i think) for calmer since the day he got there,

that each day, little by little, he gets a little more peaceful,

now, im no expect, that's why im asking you this:

could it be that the tiger that got there just gives in

on some of his nature which makes him more peaceful?

(i hope i explained it right)

  • I'm not sure which tiger we were talking about in the video you saw, it was probably just a case of new surrounding and environment, which took the tiger a while to get used to. I wouldn't say the tiger as given up on his/her natural instincts, they might appear calmer, yet they are always dangerous to work around. :)

  • Why does she act like a dog?

  • Scott was just referring to how she runs up and wants attention when he is nearby. But like he said, these are not and never will make good "pets" you can never forget that! :)

  • I Really Dont Like How People Treat Animal'z :[ Everytime I See Those Commercials Saying To Give Money They Always Show Those Puppies And Kittens All Sad And Hurt I Break Down Crying I Got A Dog MySelf And If Anything Would Have Happend To Her I Would Go Nut's :{

I Do Gotta Say Niki Is Adorable And Any Wild Animal Belong's In The Wild :] Not As Pet's :o

  • is her nickname - nicki ?

  • Yep, most people call her this!

  • When I was a little kid, my Parents took me to this show where they had all these big cats in little cages for people to look at, they even had a bear that they had people going up on stage paying money to wrestle it (I'm unsure what they did to the bear to make it safe to wrestle, but it was altered). I understand now how wrong it was. I love animals so I thought the whole thing was cool but grew up and learned it was wrong. Why those running it didn't have the morals to know this amazes me.

  • Yep, it's just like the people who offer you the chance to have your photo taken with a lion/tiger cub, people think it's innocent stuff and that their money goes towards some sort of conservation, but it's not true these people breed these cats use them until they get too big then discard them, very sad.

  • It's weird...

Don't get me wrong, it's very sad when people treat animals like that, but sometimes the people doing it aren't even 'bad' people. And sometimes they have a sort of misguided love for the animals.

I think that Money can make people do bad things.

I wish things weren't that way, though. Always feel so sorry for those animals :'[

  • We know a lot of people who own them privately love these animals and just put themselves and the cat in a very bad position, but it's common sense these cats are meant to be "pets". Then the people who take their animals out in public and allow contact know exactly what they are doing, making money and not caring for these animals properly, then when they are no longer of any use they are discarded. People should know better...

  • I agree. People really should know better

  • a distant uncle of mine living in kazahkstan used to keep around 25 lions on his property at all times. one day they all escaped though

  • How did they get out and what happened to them all any idea?

  • Hey Scott. Love this video of her, she's def a beauty. My boyfriend and I have a huge heart for big cats and we would love to come down from Toronto (Canada) to visit one day :)

  • Hi, thanks, hope you make it to the sanctuary some day!

  • looks like my bengal cleo lol.

  • Yeah but just a little bigger right!??

  • yea lol, btw did a photographer get attacked by a leopard or something i saw on tv or something, just curious.

  • I haven't heard anything like that?

  • Really because i could have sworn..... oh well

  • What you did there with this lioness is beautiful...

    You saved her. Thanks !

  • Hey thanks for the great videos, you guys (or girls) are awesome. it's good to see people out there making a change for the better. GREAT JOB!!!!!

  • Thank you and thanks for watching them:)

  • Love the Clips you guys at BigCatRerscue put up. Espically when introducing us to the individual cats, definately my favorite clips. Would love to see one on the Male Lions you have there. Have see bits from other clips with a little info on some of the males there, but would love an introduction to them and there personalities, and what there like to deal with compared to the other cats. Thank you all there for the great clips.

  • Thanks! We will definitely introduce the male lions at some point Cameron lives with a white tigress Zabu and Joseph lives with a lioness Sasha. As you may have seen from some of the clips they can both be buttheads when they want to be especially Joseph, it's just their nature :) watch out for the watermelon podcast with joseph!
