  • Good to see Mr Backhouse in the workshop still. Great assistance and support for all the students.

  • - 78.55% white (vs 87.92% white population estimated in England and Wales overall in 2009)

    - 7.93% asian (vs 5.87% overall)

    - 3.26% chinese (vs 1.59% overall)

    - 3.26% other (vs 1.80% overall)

    - 2.56% black (vs 2.80% overall)

So as you can see the mix of origins on the programme is more diverse than the average popolation, and the % of black people though a bit lower is not too far off the average.

We liked your blog by the way :)

The data we have from last year says that amongst the students currently registered on an Arch course who responded to questions regarding their ethnic origin as part of their application (429 students out of 726, i.e. 59% of the total), ethnic origin breakdown is as follows:

[data follows in separate comment due to char limit]

  • Forgot to mention - with re: to the video, it probably just happened that no black students were around the day it was filmed. We'll try and do better in the future!

  • do i have to be white to get accepted? your interviewed students are all white! are you guys like Oxford?

  • @CorvetteTeaser What a beautifully ridiculous question. Inevitably there is going to be less Black applicants, as the black population is a minority population.
