  • I love Pride,I live in Dallas, years ago at Christmas we drove by his house,he was outside with

    his family putting up decorations.

  • Saw him in the "90's" Pure magic.

  • I am so glad to grow up with such wonderful music. At almost 18, I have always loved the oldies, classic at some of today's country, disco, and '80s-'90s metal, and today's hard rock music (like DragonForce for example). Seriously, Michael Jackson is the only pop musician I listen to. The other pop, rap, and hip hop artists all suck.

  • One of the most wonderful people that has walked this earth Charlie Pride.

  • Charie has that pure country sound, something hard to find nowadays.love you Charlie God Bless you.......JIM

  • Don't care what he look's like. I only only care about his singing. He's a great singer.

  • I'm an athiest and they always sing this at my grandad's church. I love hearing these old gospel songs.

  • the voice of an angel....love his music....

  • God gave him that gap in his teeth. And his beautiful voice. Shame on you for being so superficial.

  • He is great and the gap is his and should be left alone. My mom had one and so do I and I think it has it's own uniqueness. Doesn't impact his beautiful singing. I just love this guy!!!

  • I've always loved Charley Pride's singing. You'd think that he'd have made enough money to get his front teeth crowned, however. That gap doesn't really add to his appearance!

  • @TheMPOEye I'm not concerned with appearences. People place far too much importance on physical beauty. We all have unique features and the gap in his teeth is his, but it sure doesn't have any effect on his talent.

  • @organics4me I agree that it has no effect on his talent. He is certainly a great country singer.

  • @organics4me I agree 100% .. Love Mr. Pride just as he is .. fantastic singer .. to hell with everything else

  • @organics4me Charley is happy as he is ..

  • @organics4me that is so true you tell him he is a great singer and it is the inside of a person not the outside.

  • @TheMPOEye @TheMPOEye Actually, I always thought it gave him character. It is pretty boring these days... in this time of cookie-cutter looks via plastic surgery and cosmetic dentistry, of which celebrity entertainers are now especially fond, and with it are setting an unrealistic standard of appearance for the majority of kids. Charley Pride is a unique individual for more than the gap in his front teeth... ( I consider it a bonus)

  • @TheMPOEye He was once ask about the gap in his teeth and commented that he was afraid that if he had it fix his voice would change and he would have to find a real job that he might not love as much.

  • @TheMPOEye I'm a sucker for gap teeth. I think it adds to his looks!

  • I used to have Tennessee ernie fords version

  • hootie has nothing on Charlie

  • He can sing. AND YES I do have a lot of His Albums. He's just one of US. Charley Pride, I'm grateful you touched us. Don't ever forget that WE LOVE YOU ok? I won't!

  • seen Charlie Pride in early 80's with my dad and again in 2009 without my dad. : (...one of the greatest singer song writers around...he was my dads fav...i know all his old songs...

  • I love this man who let's God shine through him in his songs.

I grew up listening to his songs. And now I must try to find them all again.

God bless you Charlie. For God certainly has blessed us with you and your talent.

  • Oh Lord, I pray that by Your Holy Hand You will release my wife of 41 years from the bondage of alcoholism. In the name of Your Son, my Savior, Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen.

  • when I was about 8 years old I remember singing this at evening service. I had a tiny little pip squeak of a voice and My knees were shaking and I had to pee the whole time. But I remember my dad saying "Thats My son!" and mam wiping her eyes with those pretty hankerchiefs women use to use. what a wonderful song and memory this brings

  • Just Beautiful!!

  • you're awesome Charley!

  • Charlie Pride is an amazing man...as well as an awesome performer, he has a talent that surpasses most...Charlie, George Jones and Conway Twitty were the foundation of Country music...and will live forever through their wonderful music...

  • As a child I grew up on Charley Pride. It was through his Gospel songs that I accepted the Lord. I would love to find where i could get His Albums on CD - "Did you think to pray" & "Sunday Morning with Charley Pride". When he came to Australia years ago, my mother had asked him and sadly he said they don't produce those albums anymore. I have been searching in old records stores for over 15 years. I want my Children to experience what I did as a Child. Can anyone please help? please? :-)

  • Try ebay, they usually have "Did you think to pray" kicking around.

  • @organics4me I also have been searching for those albums but have had no luck.

  • @TheDonervan Try Amazon. They got a lot of old albums remastered on CD's. They have all the old rock'n roll stars and it would not surprise me if they got good ol' Charlie as well. Good luck in your search!!!

  • @TheDonervan On Amazon they got 33 different CD's by Charlie.

  • My favorite Gospel song by charley too.His first Gospel album in my opinion is his best.I had the pleasure of seeing him in concert here in Maine 5times from the 70s to early 80s.He's very popular in Canda;get his LIVE dvd and you'll understand why.THANKS for posting;and THANKS charley for the music and memories from your concerts.

  • Love this version, but I remember that Andy Griffith episode I first heard this. More people have referred to that particular show than any other I can think of. Andy and Barney's version was so poignant; what a great memory.
