i like the one add that states a chick telling her bf hey havent we seen this film like 3 time his respone 'ya but we really havent watched the film lol hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm?
the shot Scorcese used for this song is my favourite in the whole movie. The Airline Diner... I like old neon signs and short order cooks... the smell of bacon, ham and eggs sizzling away, chrome stools, and waitresses with beehive hair-doos who actually deserve a decent tip.
I thought that the diner looked familiar. When one of the guys in my crowd had a car we'd go there to hang out. Hadn't thought of it in many years. I wonder if it is still there.
yep, it was back in high school at the sadie hawkins dance in 1959, we were dancing cheek to cheek and a conselor came up to us and said no bodily contact is permitted, that girl i was dancing with is now my wife of almost 45 years. the school was mtn view high in mtn view calif. my how times have changed.
AHHHH,The memories.Every time I hear this song,I remember being 17 years old, dancing cheek, chest to boob, legs rubing, with some pretty lil thing at 1 of the many teen spots in town.We had the sex, same as now,but dancing to this kind of music, like they say,is priceless.
wat is the song that they play in goodfellas when joe pesci is beating the shit out of billy batts and henry hill and to get the door???? im not sure wat song is tat.......wat is it???
gave us trouble...Paulie's union people scared them with a strike. It was beautiful. It was a bigger moneymaker than numbers and Jimmy was in charge. Whenever we needed money, we'd rob the airport.
no the best is after tommy and billy bast get into an arguement and they both apologize and then theres a big pause bily takes a sip of his drink and then he's like. NOW GO GETCHA FUCKIN SHINE BOX!. MMMMMMOOOTHA FUCKAAAA!!
My favorite doo wop song of all time. The late, great Eugene Mumford on lead( formerly of the Larks)--lyrics written by Mitchell Parrish, who also wrote DEEP PURPLE, another hit with Mumford on lead.
Waaahhh. The VERY best of my poor English boyhood. Heard it on Radio Luxembourg and fell in love with song, genre, singer, arrangement and the warm glow I get ( with tears) whenever I play it now. Many thanks you genius.
great placement in the movie too. plays @ idlewild airport as the screen fades into a grown up henry hill. provides the veiwer with a nostalgic melody synonymous with growing up in those times. Excellent song, excellent movie. I reccomend the Cleftones "Cant we be sweethearts" as well!
This has always been my favorite song. I recall hearing it on my little clock radio, in I believe, early 1957. I was thirteen and just listening to this song make me aware of all the hearaches to come. The lyrics of this song and the treatment by Billy Ward and his Dominoes, is fabulous. This goes for Deep Purple also
I wish i was from your generation. Music was still worth a damn back then. Now its just mass production of low quality, equally sounding disasters. Thanks for sharing your memories with us. Its quite a treat ;)
Thanks 4 mentioning Eugene Mumford - most people don't know his name although his voice was out of this world! He should've gotten credit 4 this recording: ie Billy Ward and His Dominoes featuring Eugene Mumford
Excellent song - as much as I love all the versions, this recording is the most evocative of the 50s and gets my vote as the best!
That's Eugene Mumford singing lead on this one. He replaced Jackie Wilson as the lead singer of Billy Ward's Dominoes. Jackie Wilson went on to a successful solo career. Gene Mumford was from Durham,North Carolina. This song-along with Deep Purple- would be the last hits for the Dominoes.

Its such a shame that music such as this will never ever be made again. Todays music is such pathetic garbage,,I have no idea what happened.

It's like John Milner said in American Grafitti: " Rock & Roll's gone down hill ever since Buddy Holly died".
