Yeah, not bad at all. Verses were said in rythmn, good instrumentals. But I don't like this kind of " maniac " screamings. To me, it's the " easy " screamings, they're not true. And I will be really impressed when the day comes when a guy will pull out Chino's verses with the same high notes. Zack from RATM would be tight for covering Engine No. 9.

Well I like sharp hectic screams. I'm good at doing loud amped screams now but for many people screaming in a power house fashion isn't easy at all. These aren't easy screams. The easier ones are those that more spoken with a raspy tone but have no loud agressive feel. Those are the mimicked screams. What you see in this video are very sharp exhales. This takes a lot of air and control to do without fucking up the chords. I like De la Rocha but I don't think he could match vocals like this.

De La Rocha dose some good screams and grunts live but he just shouts his lungs out. I remember how tired his voice use to get at shows. He is a great stage presence and one of my favorite front men but he dosen't have a good level of stamina and technique like the guy you hear screaming in this vid. But I love the way he poors himself into it. He isn't one of the best voices but he is very energetic which makes up for anything.

I like Chino's style now but I wish he could exhale with power like he use to back in the day. It was simular to this guy's screams but Chino's screams were a little deeper. But now in present day you could say Chino is more distinctive then in the Deftones earlier days. And his screams are now more unique then ever.

This group isn't emo nor are they the emo stereotype of "emo" as it used today. And Deftones have many genre styles but Nu-metal has never been one of them actually. They were kind of close to that but Deftones lack certain feautures to be Nu-metal such as the guitar tunning. Nu-metal was a good idea but it died because it got too commercial like grunge and like all fads the majority died out. The real reason why Nu-metal isn't as big as in it's earlier days is because of Fred Durst.
