@TheMaaaage When they made the FTL jump only the front half of the ship made it through leaving the other half back floating in space. The Arbiter was in the front of the ship while Master Chief was in the back.

Reach is going to be a prequel of the 1st Halo. Reach was the planet the Spartans trained on before they were sent into combat. The Covenant seen planet Reach as a threat to their existence, so one of the Prophets sent waves and waves of Covenant soldiers (Grunts, Jackels, Elites, Hunters etc.) and ships to destroy Reach and everything on it. John (Spartan 117) was the only Spartan from the Spartan 2 Project that survived the great battle of Reach. He fled the doomed plane aboard a ship called:

@xmistakittyx glassing refers to the sands of the planet being turned to glass in the high heat of a nuclear explosion so ya reach got tottaly blown the fuck up lol hope that helps

with the skull on: it shows master chief going to sleep then it shows a ship going to a planet but which planet - Reach. and thats Why there making Halo Reach - but what i dont get is what ship was that? - was it the broken one with chief and cortana in it - but halo reach is supposed to be the prequel to the first halo game

I know the IWHBYD skull doesn't do anything other than changing some dialogs. And for the Halo books; the first one was Halo: The Fall of Reach, followed by Halo: The Flood, Halo:First Strike, Halo: Ghosts of Onyx and Halo: Contact Harvest.

thats not a halo...thats a shield world, probably Onyx where Dr. Halsey and the other surviving spartans are. but this also leads to Marathon.  which Halo is Marathon just a different name. and Halo wars takes place before Halo: combat evolved so dont go saying thats whats after halo 3. :P

a couple things one is that the books arnt the official story line so that probably isnt onyx and onyx doesnt exist neither do the remaining spartans and that should be the elites homeworld witch is under seige by the brutes

well, when Halo fired it shook itself to pieces. Did a number on the Ark. So, the portal couldn't sustain itself. Chief and Cortana were in the back side of the ship which stayed in space. But the Arbiter escaped because he was in the front side of the ship which entered in what looks like a black hole.
