  • An easier is to 1 in stead of shorting use butter that has been frozen then let it sit out for a while then dice it and make shure it's like the stick butter then DO NOT refrigerate the dough un less you have to and don't pick up the dough use your rolling pin set it on an edge of the dough then roll the dough on the pin then set the pin w/ dough on it on the pie dish and unroll it

  • @usethisaccount4video I agree about the frozen butter, but instead of dicing it I run it through the Salad Shooter; the butter is in tiny cool pieces by the time it's added to the flour, makes the whole process go by a lot quicker.

  • u no what helpsl..is adding a little baking pwder in the crust....i know no one does that but still uy pie will come out perfect all times......trust me

  • also I have used up to ten tbs of water depending on how dry the house is. your crsut will be too think and will not roll out thin enough if it doesnt have enough water. cut the leftover dough off and put it in a metal dish and put balls of butter and cinnamon and sugar on it for an extra snack for kids or yourself! this crust that they are showing here looks drier than a fuckin popcorn fart.... id throw that shit in the trash and start over.....

  • I dont know what youre talking about. I have literally made3 hundreds of pies of all kinds and have NEVER parbaked a crus and have NEVER had one bubble up. I think youre doin something wrong. 10 inch dble crust = 3cups flour, 1 cup+2tbs shortening, 1/2 tsp salt, 6-8 tbs cold water. also dont put the crust in the fridge it dries it out. you may think it makes it easier to roll but it sucks all the moisture out and your crust will crack when folded.

  • premade crusts are not sold here so this is good for me to learn =) I tried making a pie crust once, it turned out great! the second time? Not so great. Don't know what I did wrong. Oh well. I'll try again =)

  • don't forget when you parbake your crust to poke some holes in the bottom so it doesn't bubble up. You want the bottom flat.
