The correlation between c02 and the temp on the planet is not there. The correlation between the solar activity of the sun (how many sun spots/movement there are) perfectly correlates with the ups and down of the temp of the planet.
There is a correlation between co2 and temp, it's just a few hundred to a few thousand years off. There is NO correlation between man's use of fossil fuels and temperature, however. Many people try to argue that the sun can't drive temperature because the sun's activities don't match up with the hockey stick graph. That is the statement that gives me a headache.

Here is a clue - while the "ice" is melting in some parts of the world, it's growing in others. The glacier on Mt. Shasta is growing, as well are the glaciers in the Himalayan Mountains. Do you know about The Charney Report produced by NAS in 1979? It's on the net. Subsequent studies have done nothing but confirm their basic conclusions. These studies did not just come from countries with democratic influences.

There is a correlation between co2 and temp, it's just a few hundred to a few thousand years off. There is NO correlation between man's use of fossil fuels and temperature, however. Many people try to argue that the sun can't drive temperature because the sun's activities don't match up with the hockey stick graph. That is the statement that gives me a headache.

Here is a clue - while the "ice" is melting in some parts of the world, it's growing in others. The glacier on Mt. Shasta is growing, as well are the glaciers in the Himalayan Mountains. Northern Africa at one time was a lush rain forest - today it's a desert, I suppose the dinosaurs induced C02 and helped raised the global temperatures that destroyed the forest in Africa? I'd like to know why people are lead to believe why this means that global warming is not real. Why is it that Nature publishes this article it is pounced on by skeptics who really don't care to know why.
Observation is obviously more tangible, but models are extremely valuable. The massive melting in the arctic, glacial melting it the tropics and the rapidly changing ecosystems worldwide are case in point.
