  • What I don't understand is how fast he says I love you now, and how later he stutters A LOT when he is saying it. It just seems as if if he's done it before it should be easier the second time especially when it is so evident that her feelings for him have changed. I mean, WHY???

  • @robpatzfan17

he has been rejected once, 1st. Second, at 1st he proposed with an air of haughtiness more than that of a lover, he felt superior & as if doing her a favour. But in the second proposal he was further in love, and with deep love come butterflies in the stomach, apprehension, stress and so many things... (MY PERSONAL OPINION)

  • How she pushes forward her chin...and the teeth - threatening sign

On the writing: if you are so overwhelmed with emotions, thinking is hard, especially sentences like these, and from the neurobiology studies, the emotions take command, so the ratio here seems like pure intentional magic, thou we melt everytime we hear it. Because it is so GOOD!

and well-writen and played scene - how they got close, both were expecting something, but...

  • 4:00

*Oh shit. What did i just do?*

  • this scene is the perfect evidence why i think he is the best actor to say those lines, or whatever it was to say in any kind of movie!! most beautiful lines i've ever heard in a movie, and the most beautiful conversation! the argument, so intense, but lovely!

  • 0:42...

You're welcome ;) Gets me every time...

  • there is not an scene most memorable in the history of cinema that this scene, it makes dream day and night =)

  • 64 thousand of those views were mine...

  • I watched this literally more than 20 times, loving it more and more every time.

  • i just read an article in the guardian.uk where his wfe keeley gushed about how mm declared he loved her while they were working on spooks

she says he just blunted out I quote her saying what he said(you understand) ,,I love you,, right there in the rain, she gushes

so it seems that mr darcy / mm is living by the ,,book,,

this man can't get any better,it's the first time I am envious and gelous of another woman

darcylicous indeed(excuse me I am just a ,,bit,, obssesed with mm at the moment

  • Best 4 minutes and 24 seconds of my life.

  • I love this scene... It touches the deepest place in my heart...

  • 3:50 is heartbreaking!!

  • when he leans in and nearly kisses her, it's so intense that it makes my own heart beat a bit faster, love it. and how are his eyes so blue?!<3

  • @ski0free THIS. :)

  • i love this scene <33

he is so frikkin cute ^^

  • the end of the film should hvae not stopped so abruptley after she talks with her father

should have continued like in the book and show them married, happy in theyre home, receiving visits from familly and friends and enjoiyng they're life togheter

for me it needed a couple of more scenes,/minutes of them to togheter

maybe is because I cannot get enough seeing lizzye and darcy togheter

  • "my sister hardly shows her true feelings to me!"

    *..............shit.*

oh, darcy. the poor man's about to faint in the beginning after his "most ardently." i melt everytime. matthew macfadyen... XD

  • man Mr darcy is so cute and handsome I`m so in love man..:D

  • kiss her already

  • ohh and his voice and the way he looks at h his voice, his voice, his voice..........

really you can fall in love with his voice and def i would just let him talk all day

perfect man, perfect mr darcy and i think mm is excatly like mr darcy, uhh i want himbut in a very pride and prejudice way of course,we have to behave like ladyes now,but honestly he does make me crazy, imagine if you would see him /mr darcy in person.........what would happen........

  • if only people could go back to those times, when men where real men, well manered, elegant, poised respected the women.

women as well don't get me wrong are behaving like slappers(uk for sluts),we are trully acting like animals now,sex is everywhere nothing is pure anymore.

ohh and don;t get me started on the dresses, wouldve loved to wear flowy long dresses they wher so feminine now it's we almost go naked on the streets

i think i was born in the wrong era.

hmhmm on another note mm is the best

  • @londracity1

Men acted like animals, then, also. However, the polite and formal facade was normally kept for ladies beyond reproach.

  • to me, Colin Firth is Mr Darcy!

  • Still prefer the book and/or the BBC version but this was still very good.

  • LOVED this film sooo romantic obviously not the drenched in rain bit LOL XD gr8 actors

  • Omg they have so much discipline. I wouldve been on him already:P

  • movie with no kiss :/ that was weird ... but either way i loved it x9

  • @winnerACE1109 they do kiss, at the very end, the scene after they're married.

  • @CreatingPulsars i didnt see that in the movie :( do u know where i can find it?

  • I hate that they never kiss. It makes me mad because the 1995 version does and usually the older ones the partners NEVER TOUCH!

  • @Girl4Happiness If it bothers you in that particular scene then you don't understand 'true' romance. It is exceptionally filmed and acted. I wouldn't change a thing. Especially not in the end as well when the sun is between them. It's a different kind of romance, on a deeper level, than the usual, boring, sexual films you see these days.

  • @filmfelineadmin You misunderstand me. I mean, I do not want them to get all sexual. I just think it would be nice if they did kiss. And in fact they did. They made an American Alternative ending.

  • I love how he seems to have his whole rant rehearsed in the beginning, and then, out of passion, he adds, "...most ardently" like he couldn't hold it in.

  • GODDD the looks on both of their faces when he leans in like he's going to kiss her, this scene is so perfect in every way!!!

  • I have this whooooooooole scene memorized.

  • Try Asian women # oneman4u.info #

  • I blame mr Darcy for my high expectation of man......

  • @rokkofea

    me too !! :((

  • @rokkofea me too... and edward cullen :/

  • @rokkofea you said it. How many guys have the guts to just go: I love you. ::))) Darcy is it, incomparable. No wonder Jane stayed alone, like there could ever be two of them? So sad she died at 41

  • @filmfelineadmin which is also incredible is that he apologizes when he left....

  • "I love you."

    "WTF?!"

  • The head tilt at 3:42...sigh.

  • haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa i want you to kiss meee i mean she wants u to kiss herr doittttt u foolll

  • where's my Mr. Darcy?? whereeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee??????????

  • they're look wonderful together

  • Gentlemen of the world, do not lose heart because you're not Mr. Darcy! Even he was awkward, rude, thoughtless, stubborn and condescending at the beginning of the story. But he redeemed himself by showing his love for Elizabeth by helping save her sister and family from social ruin, and standing up to his aunt on Elizabeth's behalf. Small gestures of thoughtfulness and kindness for others without the goal of personal gain, and making sincere efforts to right your wrongs, are the true lessons.

  • Worst proposal ever. <3.

  • i love the way he looks at her....so beautifull...

  • Like a year ago I fell in love with this movie.. It still has'nt broken my heart :) but Darcy did..

  • @joyima Oh lol sorry I didn't realize the American version was different - and I have to say I agree with you on that (not that I'm disappointed that they kissed! I just totally get what you're saying). That's interesting that they are different. =)

  • sigh, so....aw.

  • i love when she opens her mouth at 3:48 :) he should have kissed her

  • If they would mix the series of 1995 and this film, it would be perfect!!!

(Even if I really like McFadyen as Darcy, Colin Firth is better :) )

  • OH Mr. Darcy!!

  • @JamiexLeex91

    I agree.

  • I prefer Colin Firth as Mr Darcy.

  • @Izybellaz

I like both, but when I first found out that there was one done in 1995 with Colin Firth, I HAD TO WATCH IT!!!!!!

  • This is my favorite scene!

  • my gosh hes so hot

  • What is wrong with you people; it is just a movie!! Stop talking about a character from a movie as if he was real! It is a good movie, though, and I love the vulnerability of the character D´Arcy....

  • @parsifal102: his name is not D'Arcy. it's Fitzwilliam Darcy.

  • three words. HOT.HOT.HOT!!!!!!

  • They don't kiss at all. :(

  • @AllieBaBAM They do later on in the movie. At the very end. =)

  • Elizabeth totally wanted Darcy to kiss her. She was leaning her face in looking at his mouth. And he is so damn HOT! If I were writing this, Darcy would have kissed her breathless and then walked away while she crumbled against the pillar touching her mouth and hating herself for enjoying it.

  • I'm rereading the book and I'm still pissed that Elizabeth didn't accept his hand LOL oh well, Mr. Darcy was kind of a jerk..

  • I LOVE THIS SCENE!!!!!!11

  • wheres the acting? ¬¬

  • Matthew is like 20 years older than me but god he's so handsome XD

  • Colin Firth > Matthew Macfadyen

  • matthew macfadyen oozes sex appeal here (naturally) -- yet he's so homely in the pillars of the earth. oh, the demands of acting!

  • this version is such a fail compared to the BBC one,you simply can't get the magic of the book into the length of a film! Wish they'd stop trying!

  • That is true about the almost kissing..but somthing to look forward to yea??..So intense when she brought up his wicked ex-friend name..lols..He came so forward so quick..Eyes blazing, NICE!!

  • If words be the food of love, speak on! Oh Mr.Darcy you should speak on and on :)

  • I wish people still spoke in this fashion. It's so rich. I wish I could speak this way now without feeling odd about it.

  • @iwtlhs112 oh i know how you feel, i at times do so with an occasional odd look.

  • god i love mr. darcy sooooo much.

  • 'are you laughing at me?'

    'no'

    'are you rejecting me?'

    love this part!! haha

  • Sometimes I think the "almost kiss" that they have here is better than an actual kiss :)

  • Gosh, this is my favorite part..but I didn't like the ending of their meeting...Darcy should just kiss her then.

  • @keslyn3z then it would not been an "Austenly" scene ;)

  • @Cuotita That is sooo true..You know us fan, we just would like to go straight to the pleasure without any other Drama to it..But like you point out, It would be Jane Austen style of story.

  • @itsmagicalnatureJess

i dont think americans pronounce it the way you wrote. im pretty sure i dont... do you? but nevertheless how he says that line... brilliant.

  • I just LOVE him!

  • One of my favourite scenes :)

  • im in love with mr darcy. where can i find a man like that

  • @MyMyBecca I want one to ;D WAH WAH

  • Love romantic tales about wealthy British aristocracy? Like romance, bookclub novels? You'll love James Whren in REVERB, a must read of a beautiful, rich, master musician who learns to love someone other than himself. Read it on reverbnovel or jcafesin dot com.."

  • his eyes...so blue and beautiful

  • Comment removed

  • I LOVE It!!!!! Its so romantic and unexpected! Although, this scene is totally different from the one in the novel(book)!!! Yet its sooooo beautiful and pleasing to watch!!! If I have to confess my love, i'll do it like that but much modern! "in vain i have struggled...''

  • I can't stop staring at his eyes. *swoon*

  • Auuuuuu!!!!

  • cant kiss her coz it was not allowed at the time....

  • "I don't understand-"

"I love you." I looove how he cuts her off because he can't bear to keep it in any longer. <3

  • " I love you, most ardently" :swoon:

  • Darcy= HOTT

  • I want them both so badly!

This scene makes me cry overtime.

  • JUST KISS HER AND THE HAVE SEX.

    jk just kiss her

  • @wizirbyman

actually them not having sex is what's so great about them !!!!!!!!!!!

  • @wizirbyman Thats wt call pRIDE. he needs to kiss her but hes' not ....

  • If we could all disagree in that way... without screaming, calling names or using profanity... such integrity!!

  • @JamiexLeex91 couldnt agree more man!

  • I LOVE English speaking people, when they're angry....They have so cool voices... I LOVE IT!!!!!!!

    But Bitish accents are BEST!!!!!!!

And Mr Darcy ( Matthew MacFaden ) is just sooo cute!!!!!!! I would have said yes!!!!!

But Matthew just looks good in P & P......I love his long hair...!!!!!!!

I just love the whole movie...it's so beautiful!!!!!

(Sorry, if my English was bad....I'm German and I can't speak English so well...) =D I also like Keira here she's such a beautiful woman!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I love her OMG face after he told her he loved her.

    I love it ;D

  • @JamiexLeex91 yess!!! i <3 <3 <3 british accents.

  • could anyone be so nice to write down what they exactly say? I'm german and it's to fast for me to understand every word...

  • I have no idea what half of the words they were using mean, but this is really romantic.

  • how he confesses his love for her must be one of THE best ways a man could ever say it. "i love you.. most ardently.." gosh.. its so perfect i cant stand it!

  • MR. DARCY!!!!!!!!!!

    *rips off clothes*

  • See this is why Keira Knightley ties with Audrey Hepburn for my favorite actress. That heffa gets into her roles like no one I've ever seen. She's believable and fierce. It's as if she doesn't just want you to believe it, she believes it too. And best scene!

  • I love you ... most ardently. ~SWOON~ Favorite scene!

  • want. now.

  • she gets hot smart SEXY darcy I get backtalking dirty stupid teenage boys MY LIFE UUUUGGGHH!!!!!!!

  • -3 ahhhhhhh

  • OMG, THAT IS ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL 4:19.

  • oh come on! How can you refuse that face?!

  • he gets so jealous when she mentions Mr. Wickham

  • I like the way they fight...a fight with honesty and chemistry!

  • I love their chemistry when it looks like they're about to kiss *q* *swoon*

  • ugh i love Mr. Darcy

  • I get lost in his eyes. -Swoon-

  • fav scene

  • i never get bored in wacthing this movie...

  • .. i wish i could find a man like MR. darcy... do this kind of human still exist now a days???

  • What a beautiful story. I fell sorry to hear about your mom, but you must have great memories of her. Thank you for share this video and this story.

  • I love pride and prejudice. :)

  • Butterflies, everytime. This totally beats out Thorton! I love how after Darcy says he loves her she looks like "what just happened? Did you follow he here?"

  • i love the little lost puppy face he makes after he says "i love you" ohhh sigh. the perfect man right there ladies.

  • KISS HER....YOU FOOL!!!!

  • @stephiza yea

  • @stephiza I KNOW! seriously....

  • As a purist, this is so wrong. As a romantic, this is so fantastic. The way he tilts his head and his gaze drops to her lips... GAAH!! KISS HER!!

  • I can die watching this movie..I can't stop reading abt and watching this movie and this scene in particular...

"script-o-rama" Enjoy the full Script of the movie or this scene here

  • This very scene details the true meaning of this movie's title. Mr.Darcy and Lizzy are inflicted with an abundance of both, pride and prejudice. Obviously this is the only thing keeping them apart, for even in the midst of this rage, there is a burning heat made obvious through body language. Jane Austen must be so proud to see her work played to justice with these actors and actresses.

  • I'm a big fan of Collin Firth but i've to say that Matthew Macfadyen is the perfect M.Darcy .. Can't help Falling in Love WithThose Bleu Eyes every time ..

Best scene in the movie .. 2nd best dialogue in the Book !

    Just perfect !

  • Hey. She plays an Elizabeth here and in Pirates of the Carribean? :0

  • God Mr.Darcy is one sexy beast!!!

  • mio dio che scena!!! <3<3<3<3

  • I really love this scene!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • WHY would anyone dislike this?! I honestly DON'T understand.....

  • I really love this sence!!! Matthew is really cute and handsome here!!!

  • He's a really good actor, but the Mr. Darcy for me will always be Colin Firth. I do think they both played this scene really well, though. =)

  • i'm always at constant debate over Thornton vs. Darcy, and when i finally convince myself that Armitage's John Thornton trumps Mr. Darcy... i see this... Macfadyen and his ridiculously heart-wrenching puppy eyes aaaand i'm back at square one.

keira and matthew are both amazing in this scene.

  • @sotrlmml who wouldn't?

  • @sotrlmml Because regardless of her anger toward him she is still attracted to him.

  • Mr Darcy > Edward Cullen

  • @24710991

what are you even compairing? o.O

  • His face immediately after he tells her he loves. He can't even bring himself to look at her...

  • This makes my heart beat really really fast <3 love this

  • I fell in love with the book...glad the movie does it justice! Amazing scene:) ♥mr darcy

  • 'Forgive me for taking up so much of your time..'

    NOOOOOOOOOOO! Come back, Mr Darcy!

Just heard the song 'In Between' by Linkin Park... my God does it suit this scene! :)

Pride and Prejudice :) Best book ever written!

  • DAMN. THEY WERE GOING TO KISS.

  • 1:43 you can see he's thinking, 'ah, crap'

  • I love this almost kiss.... makes me get butterflies everytime.

  • I love how she rejects him, then it looks like they wanna kiss afterward... Everytime I watch this part of the movie I wish I could just jump in the movie and push their lips togeth for them.

  • sigh

  • It seems that the words tumble too quickly when he's first speaking. I know he's supposed to be nervous, but this was too rushed. I love this version of Pride and Prejudice; yet with all the performances I've seen for Mr. Darcy, no one can compare to the legendary performance of Laurence Olivier. Colin Firth is also another wonderful example in the manner of his portrayal of Mr. Darcy. Either way, to each their own.

  • 3:28 - 3:40 OH SNAP!

  • I actually have a friend who looks like Matthew McFadyen

  • @ANANASJE1985 you´re so lucky!

  • and those r the words of gentleman., from the first moment i met you., your arrogance and conceit., your selfish disdain for the feelings of other made me realize that you are the last man in the world i could ever be prevailed upon to marry

  • I love how they set this proposal scene in the rain. They do so well together and I love how he gets so close to her, he almost kisses her.
