I didnt' think it was that bad, seem's like it's a snowball just getting bigger and bigger with negative comments. I doubt there is anything wrong with the amp. It's a loud friggin amp so cheap mic's will not do. Nice choice of rush tune Joel98z!!!
I've got a blackfaced twin reverb and it sounds way better than this one. (I don't think it's just the bad recording.) Yours sounds cold and mechanic. You should get it to a tech. If you get it to sound ok or better you will now why I posted this.
What can this strange device be, when I touch it, it gives forth a sound. It's got wires that vibrate and give music, what can this thing be that I found?
I enjoyed the tinny ten cent camera mic effect . Gave it a ambience that is just so difficult to achieve . You have succeded in making the fender Twin sound horrible well done . So manybefore you have failed
Urm the guy has the bass, treble and mids on about 5, and the volume on 4 - which is kinda spot on for a clean Twin. I suspect the problem is the mic and/or recording equipment rather than his eq settings.
What the F**k is that tinny noise. Whoever is making that awful racket should be put on trial for crimes against amplification. Turn up the overdrive, stick the bass, treble in the middle, put your guitar vol on 6, and treb on 6, and play like your playing and electric weapon, and not a riverboat banjo circa 1866. You have been told...
How'd you get the bare wood cabinet? Did you just remove the black tolex??
Also for gmaan45678 and wynnewoodswin08 -
Although the channel is called Vibrato, the effect is actually Tremelo... Fender mixed the two alot with their amps (and the "tremelo" guitar bridge - actually makes vibrato...)
I don't mean to put a downer on your help WWS08, I just wanted to clear it up a little more beyond your help,
yes it does break up stevie ray used twin reverbs and he got them to break up. Many people dont know it but many time when you heard drive from SRV it was the amp breaking up then he would kick on the ts808.
From what I hear, Twin reverbs barley break up at all, they are mostly clean volume. And SRV used Fender Vibroverbs and Super reverbs. He would also set the TS-808 with the level high and the drive low, to overdrive the amp itself.
I sometimes run mine at 10 for fun, and even there it doesn't break up an enormous amount. BUT after 6, it does loose it's dynamics and begin to clip.
The ultimate guitar song of all time. Genius.

@peterm3964 haha I agree, I just bought it, and it is really difficult to make it sound bad, I'm sure it's the cheap camera mic

I played from the 70,s on and the twin was the king in those day,s, the older one,s sound better some say, I am not sure that's true

2112! great!!! alex lifeson himself would use fender amps for the clean parts during the 70s...

Yes it is...
joel98z 4 years ago
How do you like it? At what volume setting does it start to break up?
philbio66 4 years ago
I think you would have to take a couple of the tubes out if you want it to break up on its own. Check stowburst's videos with the twin reverb.
dudeman5790 3 years ago
SRV took two tubes out of his to get it to break up as well.
