  • why is everybody trying to hide 5th element of knowlage???

  • how names the song on 1:58 ???

  • its 9

  • culture bandits.

  • fuck eminem.. clown

  • what's the song at 3:05

  • In the words of Dan le Sac:

"Thou shalt remember that guns bitches and bling, were never part of the four elements, and never will be"

It's about MC, DJ, breaking-dancing and graffiti

  • @urbangekko95

    actually scroobius pip

we've added some elements to the dance too. not just breakin, it kinda blended with the west coast funk and it's taken a new turn. hip hop will keep on growing in all its areas

  • @urbangekko95 Nice

  • 8 mile ;)

  • what's the song at 0:14 called??

  • @girlyXmusicXlover snoop dog and dre -nothing but a g thang

  • Damn bro you could have picked some better music to represent REAL hip hop. I didnt hear ONE Wu track, tribe called quest, on the MC element you coulda had some mean verses from Nas or something........ The pics were good tho

  • @DonLeoMarin I heard a Wu track.

  • 9 dislikers are emo

  • whats the song at 1:51?

  • @jasper02monton

    Gravel pit wu tang clan

  • hey for dj'en you should played somthing more "Authentic" search up return of the dj. thats a perfect example. I( lived all this when it was alive )

  • Now the 4 elements of hip hop is greed, lust, false identity, and auto tune.

  • @reaperofgenocide

ur right.. everyone is after the cash.

but people are trying to keep real hip hop alive.

  • @reaperofgenocide Erm, i think you meant HipPop. The one that contain Letter P somewhere in the middle. Lol~

  • @Montalox Yeah thats clever lol , hip-pop.

  • There are only 4 true elements. Things like popping and beatboxing were 'adopted' but they really aren't part of the official 4. And slim shady is a dope rapper. He isn't a sell out cause he actually deserves to be as successful as he is. Few MC's can come close to his level of lyrical intelligence.

  • i like the songs used in the video, can you tell me the names of them??

  • what the frist song?

  • @serziito sugarhill gang - rapper's delight

  • @djcountry1985 thanks bro

  • Your missin 5 elements duke......

    5. Beatboxing

    6. Street Language

    7. Street Knowledge

    8. Street Fashion

    9. Street Entrepreneurialism

YouTube Search: KRS-One 9 elements speech at Harvard.

Terrible vid and a lot of music used did not embody 1 let alone any of those 4 (out of 9 ) elements.

  • @Sprafikk theres 4 main elements to hip hop put the ones you pointed out are true i never thaught off that and yes this video sucked

  • @Sprafikk

Actually the dude was talking about the 4 BASIC elements.

before anything they didnt have the language or the fashion.

it started out with the 4 then developed to 9 and so on.

no comment about the music... but still in this world people know nothing about hip hop and telling them about the 4 elements is a great idea.

  • Fuck eminem for being in this, hes the industry's bitch and the worst 'rapper' out of Detroit, wheres Royce Da 5'9?! All my graff writers stay up keep that paint thru the veins! One love to DJ Kool Herc!

  • yea yea yea we know

hip hop is cool and all but if you ask me i think its bad news when people start talking and acting alike instead of being themselves Hip Hop can be sumthing you live but you can give it your own twist The Culture is beautiful but nowadays too many people front on the same old bullshit and that leads to stagnation. Also the old school artists don't ever let you forget that they started it. EVER. You don't see Paul Macartney runnin round braggin bout how he did what

  • Wouldn't the first element of hip hop be DJing thanks to cool herc?

  • Yes, Yes, Yes!

Bring back the original 4 elements

I beatbox, Mc and graff myself

Would love to be able to break dance tho :)

  • hel yeah its all bout graffiti, im a tagger myself

  • why would you consider popping a sub element of breaking? karate and boxing are both styles of fighting, but they are totally different. popping is a funk style.

  • graffiti, breakin, emceeing, beatboxing, djing what else you need?

  • stickers are not an aerosol...stickers can be considered graffiti under the modern usage of the word I suppose but it is questionable if we can consider it "HipHop" graffiti...

  • Good video BUT the musik I thought was WEEK especially if your talking something thats essential to the FOUR elements of Hip Hop....

  • yes..a VERY ODD music selection for this video...

  • can sticker art be considered a sub element for graffiti?

  • which is the name of battle in 0:40 ?

  • rabit vs popa dog.

    8Mile

  • its papa doc

  • HIP HOP IS MY LIFE!!!

it's the way i live it, the way i feel it!

    ~Xella!

  • in graffiti you should of put better examples like cope2,seen,can2,atom,zebster,etc, for breaking you shoulda put the legendary hong 10, and for MC's theres always big L, immortal technique, atmosphere, etc.

  • to me u gotta remember the four first main elements and how everything else either derived from those four elements or came along with them but weren't as influential as the four u feel me? anyways mayne keep it raw u can catch me in a cypher all day son hit a nigga up:: young verbz

  • i heard that sk8ing was trying to be a hip hop element but if you agree with that you aint no hip hopper son

  • i find skating more of a punk element

  • just because a lot of skaters are into HipHop or a lot of HipHoppers are into skating doesn't make it an element...same goes with punk...

  • what does this comment have to do with me?

  • yes, 70% of the tunes were in fact "rap" or "commercial pop-rap" u even had some r&b in there. i only heard ONE wutang track? hiphop has not evolved, its been molded into a different shape to fool young dumb ppl.

  • some of these tunes you play are pop tunes like timberland does pop music i fucking hate it when people put that shit in with hip hop nelly fat retardo is not hip hop

  • People will always debate whether there is a 5th element of hip hop, and when they do itll be beatboxing, popping, etc. but all we need to remember is the main 4 elements<3

  • I say the 5th element of hiphop is knowledge

I put that as first then rap second, etc.

  • beatboxing is a sub element for emcees's

and popping is a sub element for breaking

  • popping is NOT a sub element of breaking! Popping originated on the west coast independent of breaking...and beatboxing should really be considered it's own element...

  • i didnt say it derived from breaking

and yes i consider popping a sub element of breaking

breaking/hip hop dance and in hip hop dance you can find popping an locking

  • as i know...there was never a fifth element...if beatbox is considered as a fifth element then i should stop what i`m doing... No...Everyone with his opinion...But since hip hop started there was no 5 elements...Peace!

  • wether its an element or not,it should be affiliated with hip hop,its a valid talent to fit in

  • HARSBURGCITYBREAKER is right, as a true fact afrika bambaataa says its knowledge of hip-hop.beat boxing is apart of hip-hop its just not an element (no disrespect to any beat boxers out there)

  • i think people dont declare it as a major element because it wasnt started by plenty of people who magnitized it. look at every other element:hundereds took part in its creation along the way. beatboxing really started with three or four people and wasnt widespread until many years later. but to all of the TRUE hip hoppers who understand what it really means, from break dancing to breaking records much respect. my beatbox name is Mouthy, my rap name is Laudy'D, and I write Pilot 51 for graffiti.

  • I agree trmble6, whilst beatboxing is a part of hiphop without a doubt, it isnt the fifth element except to beatboxers themselves and the documentary Five Sides of a Coin

  • I'm not feelin how you didnt add the fifth elements: beatboxing. I am a true beatboxer to the heart and i feel its definitely declared as major element. street knowlege and the clothing are also elements

  • yo no disrespect but i dont think beat boxing is a fifth element...the movie scratch and planet bboy both exclude that as the fifth but you may be right

    peace

  • its because they overlook it sometimes. watch 5 sides to a coin, which is the ultimate hip hop documentary, and it explains all 5 elememts. also for some extra proof, type in KRS-one gives 9 elements of hip hop. He is the true hip hop teacher. i think even wikipedia describes beatboxing as the fifth elements. just check em out

  • Five Sides is ONE of many hiphop bibles, but its also ONE of the only one that claims beatboxing is the fifth element. No doubt it's a part of hiphop but its not an element. Pop/Locking has been around longer than beatboxing, probably has more popularity, is NOT bboy, but is hiphop. We all know its not element, but a part of hiphop. Beatboxing is the same. Its part of hiphop, but the four elements were fundamental in the growth of hiphop in a certain time...its growing/nurtured stages.

  • Look at it this way:Pop/Locking(although with different roots)are generally grouped and act as a subsidiary of bboy. Beatboxing is a subsidiary of MCing (being it was created as a companion to mcing). Beatboxing falls under the category of MCing to me.

  • you know what, I realise that every hip hopper can say one thing and another will counter that with something else. Theres no official documents or something written in stone that really says which is which. so if you say beatboxing isnt an element, thats fine. if you do, im with you. consider it a sub-element of MCing if you will. I actually started JUST to be the guy standing next to the rapper giving him a beat. thought it was the coolest shit in the world

  • Nah man, I hope you dont think that Im disrespecting beatboxing and what you do at all. I was just laying down my opinion, which is nothing more than my opinion. You got my love and respect for doing what you do.

  • no worrries fella. its all part of the understanding of the cult. its hip hop man and thats all that really counts :)

  • actually afrika bambaataa says that the 5th element is knowledge on hip-hop and im not trying to diss you dude you probably a great beat boxer but,if i were you i would take his word for it,i mean he is the godfather of hip-hop-peace

  • don't forget the 5th element of hip hop like ("knowledge"

  • actually i thought it was beatboxing

  • i thought how the fuck can you put m&m in the mc section but after watching the whole vid its not suprising because the soundrack is mostly rnb and pop shit so you was missguided from the get go

  • yo beforre you talk...i know eminem is fuckin wack on a record, thats tru...but his underground freestyle tapes are crazyyyyyy....hes got like maddd fuckin freestyle tapes out try and find them online

  • some music good, but others are gay. Not real HipHop...like Nelly, 3LW, Ja Rule?? fuck that...

  • Capoeira & BBoy are the same thing - Fight Dance... Discuss LOL

    ;= )'

  • Not the same thing, similar though in that one is a Martial Art that was disguised as a dance, the other was pure dance which of course has 'the Battle', warfare/competition.

  • the second phto is capoera

la segunda foto es capoera no brekdance
