Sony is covering up the fact that this rocket crashed. Notice that their footage suddenly cuts away. No footage of recovery... A real scandal to be honest. Great work by the students and the real builders of the rocket: The Rocket Mavericks. Sony needs to give money and step back next time. No more crappy product placements, no more filtering the truth. Only later when the rocket did fly properly (and hey rockets dont always work the first time) did Sony stitch in the new footage.

@ICEGTN Well, the boundary of space is actually closer to 328000 feet (100km) or 264000 feet (50 miles) if you prefer the American definition. And I'm not sure where to find it, but there is a video of the first amateur launch into space on the internet. I'm sure - I saw it myself, but several months ago.

all schools should have a rocket program, ive been lounching rockets for 50 years from the age of 12, the only thing is i think the rocket motor makers should reduce there prices on there motors so people like me dont have to make there own motors to obsorb cost,

I have to say the team did a great job I know it can be very tough at times.

As a high school student, I know there is a thousand ways for something to go wrong. Currently I am working on a rocket that will reach an hight of 100,000 ft.

So watch the news, as our rocket goes up on the 6th of August at White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico. Wish us luck!!!
