  • have any sharks followed the fish to the surface? I am a bit worried about attracting a shark to my kayak.

  • Oh this is nothing, you should see when we hook a Marlin, then the sleigh ride will cover many miles. Our longest was 17 miles over 5 1/2 hours on a blue marlin.

  • Would love to catch a Tuna

  • MOCO

  • The boat ride to & from your fishing hole seems to take away some of what Yak fishing is all about. Why not just fish from the boat?

  • i just started kayak fishin and i have a water quest fishin kayak. its a 10' sit in. if i caught a big red fish in it do u think it could flip me? thats all im worried about is i dont wanna get flipped about a mile or 2 off shore.

  • How come the tuna was already dead! Didn't even put up a fight

  • I have a Ocean Kayak malibu 2. I wanna start fishing on it. I was wondering if I caught a big fish would it pull me all over the place? I got my answer!!! Wow!!

  • how many pounds was this fish?

  • I love tuna but could tell the difference between yellow fin or any of the other species.

Beautiful fish none the less......... NOW GET IN MY BELLY!!

    Congrats on a nice catch

  • That's not a yellowfin, its a albacore.

  • @JBUD007 WRONG dude it is a YFT, the fins of an Albacore are much longer. We also don't catch Alabacore in the sea of cortez.

  • @Kayak4Fish I don't see ANY yellow on that tuna what so ever looks more like a bluefin to me. Regardless, that's a nice fish.

  • @JBUD007 lol

  • I can't understand why people asked "why weren't you being towed".... just look at the back of the kayak to see the wake... and the guy with the camera shows where the kayaker was pulled from..

  • why wasnt the kayak being pulled?

  • @brennan101194 The kayak was being pulled and actually covered some distance during the fight, but unlike Billfish and some others Tuna tend to run deep not out so you just don't tend to get pulled as fast or as far.

  • is that maynard in the background?

  • lets let him go or what, uhh yea catch and release, no im kidding, its not gaff and release dude you cant gaff and release, back here it should be fine? naww dude

  • Gotta love Punta Colorada and the other two Van Wormer resorts. We have been several time and normally stay at Punta Colorada, great fishing resort and awesome game.

  • i say the same thing as thezipper

  • Scusate, ma secondo voi è possibile pescare un tonno morto? Si vede chiaramente che è un video falso!!!!!! Un tonno con quel kayak sai che voli!!!!!!!

  • Nice to have a boat right next to you to pull you in.

  • this is really cool and absolutely insane at the same time

  • must hurt your balls;p

  • Watch a kayaker get towed 11 miles out to sea by a marlin, and see Jim Sammons help land a striped marlin from his kayak at KayakFishingTales

  • i need help to pick out the right kayak for me .............and i have to say what your doing dam looks like fun ass hell i want to do the same and nice fish

  • I dunno' if I could fish for tuna. Tuna is kinda' a food that I eat when I'm too lazy to cook anything else. It's not a BAD tasting fish, but I'd prefer to eat pretty much any other!

  • Canned tunafish tastes nothing like a nice tuna steak. IDK if thats what you were talking about or not, but you should definitely give real Tuna a try.

  • = O

    nice tuna man

  • why doesnt you boat move with the fish is it ankored

  • The kayak got towed at least a mile but very slowly. Tuna fight straight up and down for the most part so you don't get towed like you do on some other fish, like Marlin that can tow you many many miles

  • why?

  • well done

  • gaf and release ;D

  • good

  • great job, wicked!!!

  • yes

  • MALAKIES

  • HAHAHA!! its not gaff and release hahahha

  • thatz going to be me couple weekz no tuna doh pike esox lucis great video

  • Lucky you tail-wrapped him. Probably drowned on the way up. Otherwise, with the gaff in the tail like that, one flap of the tail fin and you'd be wearing that hook! Nice fish!!

  • Fishing in a Kayak looks fun.

  • Did that fish hit a live bait?

  • yeah nothing wrong w/keeping that baby!

  • lucky

  • testicles

  • nice video man!!

  • East Cape, southern Baja Mexico

  • were did you catch that fish ?????????

  • Would like to know what brand & type of kayak this is.

  • "ocean kayak's big game prowler angler";its the fatboy of fishing kayaks!

  • yeah, i believe the catch is real... but, even for a long fight, with a tuna of that size it would seem that there would be more blood and flopping as the tuna was gaffed and brought aboard the kayak. i mentioned the size bcuz in my experiences after long fights larger tuna may die in battle often in "color" depts and the tuna may begin to circle toward the surface in a death spiral. in which case the tuna can surface tame and dieing for several minutes on the deck with little twitching kicks

  • tail wrapped.... pulling them up backwards usually kills them before they hit the deck.

  • OMG! YOU should just shut the fuck up. You have no clue as to what you are talking about. The tuna's tail kick is moving the angler's hand. NOT the other way around.

  • well somone never fished before SO STFU THREADONASPOOL GO BACK TO HOME ECONOMICS

  • Great white shark Nicole has traveled across the ocean - will her hunger for food bring the kayaker journey to an end?

  • rofl

  • at least give the fish to a local family I couldn't believe he was thinking about letting it go.

  • You watched him fight it, though not the entire fight which lasted about 45 minutes. The fish was just real tired by the time he gaffed it, and remember every fish acts different.

  • must say.i agree with the last comment posted by "gargamel"-i have caught a few yellow fin and they go balistick once out of the water. This one must have been on strike????

  • I was few times fishing and every time i pulled the fishes out of the water they were moving and fighting. This tuna was very calm down, i think it was dead.

  • wooow congatiolation man

  • wow

  • that guy is a fuckinggggggg retard he going gaff him then say he wants to release him lmao i would never release a tuna

  • got sushi?

  • wow! gr8 fish! congratulations!

  • no gaf and relise thats funny Ha

  • nice kayak yum yum yellow

  • where is that?? thanx!!

  • East Cape southern Baja

  • how far off the shore did u first hook it? like 1 mile?

  • We were catching fish from 1/2 mile to a mile out.

  • catch and release... in hot grease

  • catch & release into the frying pan

  • hello! le kayakiste big fishs yes!!!!!

  • was he anchored? you'd think that fish would have been pulling him around all the way to Hawaii!!!

  • does that guy even eat tuna?

  • that must have been so much fun! i live in new zealand and love kayak fishing. i go alest once a week twice if i can. have landed meny good fish. kingfish, sharks and a good snapper of 25.5 pound big for around here. my next target is a tuna. i have never hooked 1 before and i am searching for sum helpfull hints, i fink finding them is the first hurdle. do you know of any good info i can tap into?

  • im glad u kept it coz no u can tell ur children tht u caught it

  • why killin'em?

  • Because they are yummy

  • sushi?

  • They are going to eat it, its not like they killed it for no reason. Do you like eating meat? someone has to kill the animal before it end up on the plate.

  • Fillet & Release!

  • Shouldnt have let your blood thirsty mate talk you into killing it, you could have put it back ok and you know it

  • oh stfu its just a tuna.they obviously both eat it and hes right, they are yummy.

  • he already gaffed it....his chances arent that goodespecially after the long fight..he would just be shark bait

  • how much your rod cost? plz respond

  • He was actually using an old Penn 500 reel so the setup was pretty cheap.

  • awseome

  • so how long did it take overall to get it up?

  • It was about 45 minutes

  • Congratulations.

Fede-Kayak from Buenos Aires - Argentina.

  • and it tasted good too!!!!
