where exactly did you find the information that all the food used in the juice has to be organic? I'm not going to agree or disagree but this does seem far fetched since nutrients get destroyed due cooking the food and your body produces white blood cells when the cooked food enters your body. This research was proven almost 100 years ago in the 1920's by a swiss dr.
@TheSanch1029 Hi, I'm not sure what "cooking" food and "organic" have to do with each other? All juice is LIVE and uncooked (not pasteurized). The reason it needs to be organic, is that non-organic food has been sprayed with herbicides and pesticides, and when you juice it, it will break these chemicals up and release even more toxins than if you just ate them.
i have a very inexpensive juicer made by black and decker similar to your juicer but i align my waste container with a cheesecloth to catch the pulp so after im done juicing, i can squeeze out more juice into my mason jar(s). this way i find that for someone on a budget like myself just getting into juicing fruits & veggies for detoxing, cleansing, and better living can get close to the same results as some of the higher priced juicers. just some friendly advice!
Here's a tip. If you can't get a better juicer that uses an auger style then when you are juicing greens..simply use a blender and pour it in a nut bag and squeeze all the juice out. You will get a much higher yeild as the Juiceman jr doesn't do well with leaves and otehr greens. It's good to start with but if your serious twin or single auger style masticating will give you MUCH higher yeilds of juice :) WHich means a lot to me as I live in Alaska and produce costs INSANE amounts of money.
I'd rather use non-organic vegetables than frozen, canned, jarred, or fried. Or *any* processed or fast food. Not everyone can find/afford organic. Not everyone has a yard.
PLEASE HELP!! i want to do this diet for my family and i am confused on how to buy or tel if the ingredients are organic or not at a local store? thanks
@TheKrazykorean360 every organic produce/item will have to have a label displaying "USDA ORGANIC" and/or "certified organic" either around the packaging, or written on the price tag of that particular produce.
Hi - instead of juicing why don't you make a smoothie out of it in a Vitamix (or similar high speed blender)? Seems like with juicing there is a ton of 'wasting' of the greens.
@cr8yourownreality - I asked the same question when becoming interested in smoothies/juicing - but I think while smoothies don't give off as much waste, and would fill you up faster, the juice contains more fruits and vegetables and has more of the mircro-nutrients in it that your body needs.
Well, if it HAS to be organic I have 2 choices. Chunk my juicer in the trash can or just don't start at all because in my area I know of no one or no store that sells organic unless I grow it myself.
I've also learned that when you clean lettuce and any leafy things, you also ring dry, yes even if it's organiz per say but from the store.
You can make some great healthy smoothy. The reason it's great to juice is because the food just slides through and processes easier and faster.
If you don't get organic, don't eat a burger. lol. You can eat burgers but homemade of course and lean meat is best. I don't get organic, but I still juice and I clean everything, including peeling my apples.
I don't have a juicer, just a blender. And if you use a blender you'll end up with something more like a smoothie, it will be thicker and have more fibers in it. It's harder to blend things like whole cucumbers in a blender, it's better to peel them. If you have a juicer you can leave the peel on and get all the nutrients.
i have a very similar juicer!!!! lol and what i tend to do with my "waste" after juicing is make a leather out of it with the dehidrater and my kids love it! n i think its a very nice treat aswell
Interesting video. Juiceman Jr. is a pretty good juicer compared to others under $150.!! I just bought 3 used popular brand juicers at a Goodwill to test them for making a video. I will buy more & when I find them & test them too. I paid $4. for each, I like the Juiceman Jr.best 'cause pulp is quite dry, compared to the others & it hasn't clogged up the works like the others did. We're talking about wasting 50 cents a day. I make big pots of vegie spagetti over zucchini noodles with the pulp

Sorry, for not thinking global LOL!... I almost wonder if NON-organic fruits and vegetables are as dangerous in Europe? All my information is based on the USA, which uses tons of pesticides. I once worked with a Swedish girl who got terrible rashes on her face from eating our fruit, she got a horrible reaction to the pesticides, her system couldn't take it.
Another option is... Do you have a yard? If so, maybe you can growing your own? Here's my favorite gardening blog, by Margaret Roach (formally the editor of Martha Stewart Living, she has the most beautiful garden too!)
@Phyle9 Non-organic is really not much different from organic. All organic means is that they used no synthetic pesticides or fertilizers. They still used organic pesticides and fertilizers, which are just as dangerous, more so in some cases, than synthetic ones. The lesson here is always wash your poduce really really well.
About washing the food: do you use like soap? I read that somewhere in a book about juicing, to leave the peels on, but wash them with the soap you do the dishes with!?! Any ideas about that? Usually i just wash with water...
Thank you for Sharing your vid. I've seen ppl use the pulp for making crackers in the dehydrator -- esp. since you've used those delicious organic veggies. I'm with StarFlower -- I don't have all those wonderful organics avail and would use that as an excuse to not eat better -- but I figure my body is benefitting from juicing versus not juicing. I will definite use the screen to get less foam. Thanks for the tip.
Juicing with organic fruits & veggies are important because juicing brings out the juice and unfortunately, when using non-organic ingredients, you are also getting the pesticides and other chemical residue in much higher concentrations, than if you were just eating it. Eat your non-organic vegetables... don't juice them.
I tell myself that any veg, even NONorg is WAY better than say processed Lean Cuisine, Amys frozen meals, drivethru Subway, Arby's and of course that other place: McD. ALL which I could easily eat instead. I would so use that organic excuse all the time as a reason for NOT having juices! I believe the bads of the processed foods outweigh the bads of the NONorganic produce and therefore I still get a benefit from ALL the produce I use regardless of it being organic or not.Just MY opinion.
The Environmental Working Group (EWG)'s explain further about the dangers of pesticides, which fruits & veggies are the most contaminated, "The Dirty Dozen" and which are safe to eat non-organic, "the Clean 15"... using the Guide to make choices that lower pesticide exposure in your diet.

Personally, if I have an organic lemon - I include the peel.
That's a neat idea using the screen to catch some of that foam - I'll try that!
Thank you for sharing your juicing video. I struggle with "making myself" juice (my bad!), so I enjoy all the inspiring videos I can watch!
