  • Superb!

  • that music is fudging brilliant. thats the music that might play in heaven.

  • genius

  • thanks for posting. I'm from the states, obviously love Graham Linehan, but am wondering: did all these skits have this kind of music playing in the background when aired? or is it just based on the preference of the uploader?

  • @catch2370 all music was chosen by chris morris... they are adapted from the radio show... most songs are the same from there... the radio shows are even more out there because of the nature of radio...

chris morris's stuff on early radio needs to be heard to be believed... and it was on bbc1 radio too uncut... astoundingly good stuff... no real politics just pure comedy

  • @StargateMunky yea i need to check it...I just found out about Morris several months ago after watching Four Lions (which I came across via Bains & Armstrong from Peep Show). Morris' humor in these few sketches and Four Lions really convinced me that this dude is doing some shit no one else is attempting at the moment. As for why I mentioned Linehan...in b/w these Morris sketches, I had been watching Big Train skits too hehehe

  • @StargateMunky also, any idea where i can find his radio stuff?

  • @catch2370 piratebay etc... most of it was never released commercially

  • Cool, I heard Jam was a rather dark show so it's good to see it's got lighter moments too.

I'm still not sure if I should spark one up upon first viewing of the DVD though.

  • He robbed him by accident. I think it's Morris's 'explanation' of how crime started.

  • A lot of old-timers say that Tommy Cooper was funny without doing anything - he just was. For this generation (for people with taste), that's got to be Mark Heap. Whatever he does has you on the edge of your seat.

  • @TheKarmaPoliceman

It's possible to love both Weird Al and Chris Morris. Just saying.

  • 5 people were raped as children

  • 20 B&H for less than a fiver, now thats a sign of the times..

  • @RicardoClement But you can still get them for free if you have a gun! lol

  • anyone know about the virals they shot in Ibiza for B&H a few years ago?

  • that man that works, is the one that plays on dead set ?

  • God, this is going to sound stupid, but did that guy just discover how to steal stuff?

  • @hotelmario510 I might be wrong but I don't think he even knows about stealing. It's as if the process of pointing a gun and getting free stuff is some wonderous thing he's discovered.

  • @DanTheWarder Ah, right. Chris Morris is an odd man.

  • @hotelmario510 Honestly mate, you could be right, he might have just discovered stealing, and you're right he is an odd man, one that us talking about his work :D

  • Why do we see so little of Mark Heap? One of the UK's greatest comedy actors and I haven't seen him in a show for 6 years. By rights he should be starring in his own show by now.

  • @belisariusorb Er, he was a main character in the fantastic Green Wing "Dr Stratham"! and now hes in a new channel 4 program called friday night dinner or something in which he plays a creepy neighbour

  • @Dangerbean Yeah, knew about Green Wing, which finished 6 years ago. I'll check out the Channel 4 thing, bet he's not the lead character though. Thanks.

  • @belisariusorb That was 6 years ago? Christ...

  • I bet a million people have asked, but what's the music?

  • @LizaLips1 It's called "Read the Video Description" by Mark and the Bleedin Obvious

  • @LizaLips1 - Lizalips - glorious name. Probably not a million, but probably not far off, the music is Air Giant by Transglobal Underground. It's a beautiful piece of music, but even better is Sky Giant by same band on same lp. Utterly wonderful.

Hats off to Chris Morris for his genius and his taste in music, assuming he chose it

  • @spats67 Jam is a postmodern British comedy television series created, written and directed by Chris Morris!!

so yes he did lol. he birthed it form his cranial womb.

  • Tobacco drug already illegal: illegal to POISON people, no matter how slowly you do it!

BAN THE ILLEGAL TOBACCO DRUG, NOW!

  • @tripjet999

    But I like smoking.

And I know it will kill me... Is that okay?

  • G'awww he got his ciggies and he's so happy :3

  • It's nice to see that despite all his wealth and millions of pounds, Duncan Bannatyne is still happy to lend a hand as an extra in 90's sketch shows (2.12).

He's an inspiration to us all.

  • @ReallyBloodyGood spot on

  • you couldn't buy a pack of 20 bensons for less than a fiver now !!!

  • The shop-related sketches are truly something. This one and the "axe-wielder" particularly. Fantastic track here too.

  • Mark Heap is an amazing comedian

  • Brilliant! Almost sad.

  • Haha, the slow realisation in his face that he got a free packet of cigs.

  • this is so brilliant, only a genius could have come up with it.

  • For some reason the last shot reminds me of the Graduate's final scene when Dustin Hoffman is on the bus smiling to himself.

  • Fucking genius...

  • Genius...

  • Fail. There is a bit more to it than that. Dig deeper

  • So beautifully done, one of my favourite sketches. I could watch it over and over.

  • Incredible!

This has the depth and empathy of a zen koan. Such beauty; the look on his face as he rides to jail, so exquisitely content with himself, so incredulous at his discovery-- self-satisfied and proud and oblivious and ignorant and innocent and dangerous and insane all at once.

I don't think I've ever seen theater (or any other medium, for that matter) convey as much with as little as this bit of sketch comedy.

    More Chris Morris, please.

  • @edwinx2 Very well put

  • @edwinx2 four lions is here!

thats a full meal for today

  • @edwinx2

alright turn the battery off mate

  • @edwinx2 you hipster

  • when he relises he aint got alight lol tis soo funny love mark heap ! ( and chris morris for that matter )

  • does anybody know the name of the sketch at the begining of this 20 B&H. (the one with the baby and the plumber) ?????? can u please pvt me pls

  • Boiler Baby? I think.

  • funny

  • course i want the change! what do you think the guns for! genius

  • aww bless him, he only wanted a pack of cigarettes :P

  • gun...

  • Legendary.

  • Brilliant.

  • god i love jam.

  • priceless!

  • Mark Heap is easily one of the greatest comedic actors on televison, he's the only reason I love spaced and Green wing so much! This sketch proves that he is grosly underrated. Love it and the fact Americans don't get it makes it all the more enjoyable!

  • For the record, this American adores both Mark Heap and Jam :)

  • well that american seems to have great taste! :)

  • Kissing their asses isn't going to make them like you. They'll still think you're an overweight, uneducated, willful ignoramus with an over-inflated sense of self-worth just by right of your birth, no matter how many Chris Morris shows you watch.

  • You're adorable.

  • They hate us for our freedom. What they don't know is that I would gladly give up my freedom if they would only love me :(

  • I like your attitude. Go get em son!!

  • Of course it's not Big Train. There's no laughter track for a start.

  • It is Jam - the dead baby plumber scene was before.

  • The look of realisation on his wee face is priceless!

  • Adorable ain't it.

  • this is great. i thought this was a big train sketch, though.i think it's same guy from big train and 'spaced'. don't know his name, being an uncultured american and all, for all i know, this 'jam' show (that i just found) came before all of that. must say, though, 'spaced' is one of the best series ever...from ANY country.

  • His name is Mark Heap

  • glad to hear it! :)

  • you need to check out the day today and brass eye, thier the best ever! they start chris morris who actually wrote all the jam sketchs, vry funny stuf

  • *a lot *well *actually

  • well done. but "well" was spelled like that on purpose. "actually" was a typo, and "alot" is a bad habit, but i do appreciate it. i don't mind the typos, and the misspells i can usually forgive. it's just the grammatical errors that really get me. there, their, they're. why can't they use them right?

  • 'There' 'they're' and 'their' drives me INSANE! I have a tendency to correct people and it's a terrible habit of mine

  • i think it's fine to correct people. it just usually takes a bit of tact to not offend peoples' intelligence. but our culture is steadily getting dumber, and it is evident in our use of grammar and language. there is this phenomenon in the states of using apostrophes inappropriately. drives me nuts. even on commercial billboards they're used wrong. thousands of dollars spent on advertising, and there are typos. it's pathetic.

  • Do you get annoyed when people don't use capital letters after full stops? I think that correcting people's grammar is fine in the right situation, but it's unlikely to come across in the right spirit on Youtube. Best just to accept a general apathy towards spelling and grammar on certain sites, otherwise it just looks like pedantry and anal retentiveness.

  • Funny

  • I know I can always find some slagging-off of Americans whenever I come to YouTube to find the British comedy I enjoy so much. Amazing I can even understand it, given my native predilection for the puerile.

  • Euphoric

  • what he does with his mouth at 2:20 is actually the best comedy acting/attention to detail i've seen in so long. so so funny.

  • Morris is cool, so is Heap. Four Lions should be good.

  • anyone know the name of the song?

  • I think it's Transglobal Underground's Air Giant

  • I actually thought this was quite sweet.

  • Yeah ...hahaha ...kinda makes you feel warm and fluffy for the guy .

    Great sketch ;))

  • Absolute Genius, I love his smug look, even though he got nicked, main thing is he has his fags and hes damn proud of his achievment lol

  • "of course I want the change what do you think the gun's for?"

  • Ya, at least early 90's

  • Jam was broadcast on Channel 4 during March and April 2000.

  • change from 5pounds for cigarettes...must be quite old

  • Yeh haha a pack of 20 was about 3 pounds something once upon a time.

  • Haha yes, I remember when I could get twenty Silk Cut for £2.70. Crazy.

  • @sbgrant yeh bloody inflation!!! I remember when Polo's were 20p and cans of pop 35p! How times have changed.

  • For some reason this makes me think of the literally insane apathy of the masses under the inflationary system of central banking. I doubt Morris meant that with the sketch, but the expense of items certainly increases with money counterfeiting that creates underproduction in those areas which it doesn't inflate and in which it therefore doesn't cause gluts and the lack of sound money prevents savings and social stability. Yet we insanely accept this trenchant poverty and crime from inflation.

  • @Nintendomanwill

You pretentious wanker! That made me laugh more than the sketch itself.

  • @Pepotamo1985

Haha. I'll second that. Sounds like the kind of douche who'd find something similar to say about a fart.

  • @Nintendomanwill That was the most tangentially pointless interpretation of anything in the universe since ever

  • @TheYTChronicles It was a comment, not an interpretation, he said: "I doubt Morris meant that with the sketch".

  • @Nintendomanwill

fck the microchip to replace currency

  • @Nintendomanwill gonna take a stab at this but we're you the guy that invented the phrase 'well your really asking two questions there'?.''so honey did you enjoy the film?'' ''well your really''...aaaaaaaaaaaaarh!

  • Beautiful

  • ahhh mark heap ur a fuckin legend, does anyone know if the blake 7 spoof he made is online ?

  • @TR0LL2R0CKS

Not that I know of but you can buy it on DVD along with the World of Wrestling and Adam Ant ones that was also made!

  • You're retarded.

  • its brilliant man.

  • haha, you're american, what the fuck do you expect? this type of comedy is fucking miles above your intellect.

  • ah yeah, your american, you wouldn't understand.

  • Sad. You have 99 words for boobs and al yankovic in your favourites. Of course you're not gonna like this. It's not purile enough for your tastes. Go back to boob gags.

  • @TheKarmaPoliceman Radiohead fans in glass houses...

  • Does anyone know the mane of the song playing in the background? I love it, and I've got to have it!

  • The song is called "Air Giant" by Transglobal Underground.

  • One day soon that's how we'll all buy fags...

  • Mate, I've already started, my shopkeeper across the road closes up everytime I leave the house...fuck knows why!?!?!

  • That sketch put a huge smile on my face =)

Suddenly the world is a brighter place to live in.

  • Genius!!

  • "of course i want the change, WHAT DO YOU THINK THE GUNS FOR!" lol

  • My favourite Chris Morris opus, it's like a work of art. Francis Bacon with more jokes!

  • you almost feel happy for him

  • As an ex-smoker, I feel positively friggin' giddy for him! :-D

  • fantastic acting...classic

  • the tune in this is perfect, its makes the sketch. when the beat drops........perfection; anyone know what its called?

  • cheekyegg (4 months ago)

its 'air giant' by transglobal underground

    ;)

  • Nice music track.

  • Well he had a pretty big part in Big Train.

But he's definitely in my top 5 comedy actors of all time.

  • I know, I loved Big Train. Like all sketch shows it was a bit, well, sketchy, but it had a more consistent hit rate than a lot of them. And at least it didn't endlessly repeat the same scenarios and jokes. I love that one where Kevin Eldon plays that horrific troll mom being reunited with her son. but when I said he was underused, I meant I'd like to see him have a continuing part in a decent sit com, like Spaced or Peep Show. And I do know he was in Hyperdrive and Nighty Night.

  • woo kevin eldon, the most criminally underused comic actor of all time. He seems to have a tiny role in just about everything, but he never gets major parts, apart from in hyperdrive where he's the only moderately amusing thing in it. Anyone who's seen the episode of black books where he plays the creepy cleaner knows what i'm talking about, he's fucking funny. And Chris Morris is a genius!

  • Hear, Hear.

  • Absolutely right

    :]

  • He's used a lot in Morris. He is one of the 5 main players. He is also used by "that" group, you will see him in Steve Coogans stuff, obviously Big Train etc etc.

  • Dirty!!

  • want your change? ofcourse

  • Everyone should track down a copy of the 3 Blue Jam radio series.

  • fuck this is my favourite jam sketch, well up there with the doctor and mr lizard. Mark Heap is a fucking legend!

  • I actually don't see what's so dark about this sketch. Very funny, but not as gloomy as the others.

  • This was probably one of the most touching sketches in Jam.

    "I don't mind that I got arrested... I won."

  • indeed this is something else. jam is sweet.

  • theres somthing so satisfying about jam, but i just cant put my finger on it!

  • great sketch & the music is awesome - anyone know the track?

  • its 'air giant' by transglobal underground

  • Badly edited but that's a part of the essence of JAM. Love this sketch and the whole series, it's such a poignant comment on the crazy world we live in

  • This sketch is awesome. So dark, but at the same time touching and a little comical. Thanks for upload
