@Snutih Believe me, as a Muslim I know no where in the Quran does it condones any violence. You claim it does only because you hear it from a small anti Muslim fringe who spreads misinformation. Oh and by the way, another reason why these attacks occur, to further distort what Islam really teaches & trust me it ain't violence. Come off it! Muslims murder (and even blow themselves up) because religion tells them there's a heaven waiting for them if that carry out such atrocities. 'The next life' is what religious people focus on, and that's why they have so little concern for this life. Muslims are brainwashed by their religious leaders. If your values and your morals are stuck in the 6th century then bad things will happen.

Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued. ( Jizya is the money that non-Muslims must pay to their Muslim overlords in a pure Islamic state.)

I've not said terrorism and murder are exclusively found in Islam. Governor Perry has no problem sending people to their death, even though he's a Christian. Islam is worse because the religion is taken seriously as a way of ruling a country and its people - this is why nuts like Perry and Bachmann would be a disaster for the US. I live in the UK and the American people's love of religion is totally baffling. To me the power religion has in the US is completely mad.

I'd find it hard to stay in the US because I live in the UK and I've never visited America (I wouldn't mind visiting some time; had the chance years ago but didn't take it). I'm not really sure what point you're trying to make. Religion (militant religion) is harmful because it give a false promise of an afterlife (there's greater reward for those that have martyred themselves). There isn't any afterlife. These people are throwing their lives away on the empty promises of religious teachers and leaders. Theocracies are pernicious. The Koran, like the Bible, should be seen as quirky things of antiquity; they should not be used as moral guides because they both contain barbaric laws.

Of course not all Muslims are murderers & maniacs (& that's because they don't follow word-for-word the Koran; if they did follow the Koran word-for-word they would all be murderers & maniacs.
