@CAlanRobinson i know this isnt a rhcp vid but what you said just isnt true. anthony actually did get kicked out of rhcp at one point but rhcp wouldnt be the same without him. (maybe now since theyve changed their sound) but if you listen to their older albums (rhcp,freaky styley, uplift, mothers milk, bssm, ohm) he has the funkiest, hardcore, brilliantly zany rawness to his vocals. those albums wouldnt be the same without any of the members of that time period. that was epic stuff

dave doesnt look like he would be in janes addiction. i mean, when i first saw him i thought he was in some gothic or metal band. then i heard JA and i was impressed.
@NickODU2015 hmm not really. yea the pre-1997 stuff is my favourite. but they didnt really look like goths back then. navarro had dreads. he looks more goth now with his haircut and beard. but ritual de lo habitual and nothings shocking dont really sound like metal to me. i guess you could classify it as hard rock but they have their own unique sound.
@added23 Right, I called it metal-esque. There are definitely metal influences in their music, because Navarro and Stephen Perkins come from metal backgrounds. But Perry Farrell was goth (his real name is Peretz Bernstein, but changed it to Perry Farrell because it is a long way of pronouncing "peripheral") and brought a goth-style influence to the band. You hear it more on Ritual than on Nothing's Shocking.
@NickODU2015 i guess it depends on your definition of goth. tbh youre the first person ive heard to classify janes addiction as goth. i dont consider the vocals on ritual to be goth. id say they sound more like art rock, or dream rock. goth rock is like alice cooper, marilyn manson, some david bowie, sex pistols, the velvet underground and nine inch nails.

I actually kind of like Dave. He is a very conflicting person(People believe him to be a weirdo, but, in reality, he's a normal guy). A bunch of people hate him, though. But it's only because Anthony Kiedis called him a "Sarcastic Mr. Know it all", and that gave them "reason" to hate him. But I like him, he's very good at playing.

I read recently that Navaro's co managing porn star Sasha Grey... so, he's gone from selling himself to the music biz, to selling a young messed up girl to Hollywood sleaze bags... a pimp basically... pop music and porn... not much difference at the end of the day I guess? As much as he tries to deny it... he's really just a pop music commodity.
I just watched him on Z Rock. What an egotistical creep. He's the stereotype of how rude, self-centered and controlling people can be when they get a pile of money. As well, someone please tell Dave that having tattoo's is soooo 1995! He wears hip, but he is not hip.
I really like this guy. I usually don't listen to rockers, sometimes their really out of it bur Dave... Very intelligent guy, obviously educated and truely lives and loves music. Funny how the real people are never a lusters lol
