you DO realize that Shinobi no mono and Ninja, are BOTH pronunciations of the SAME KANJI ((忍び)

they are the very same word

you can attach all of the notions you WANT to the words, it still doesn't make them true, nor does it make using 'shinobi' without being followed by 'no mono' any more grammatical than saying ' it's not ninja'( apostrophe is mine, you missed it)

@Arteanor I did some research cause i thought i was right so i looked into it and i am right the kenji for ninjitsu 忍 the kenji for shinobi 忍び the kenji for shinobi no mono 忍の者 also "no mono" is a modern term like in kendo there is a modern term "no kata"

@chocalot1 Takamatsu Sensei wasn`t Hatsumi`s grandfarther.Takamatsu recieved his sokeship from his grandfarther Toda sensei.Hatsumi is not related to Takamatsu.And yes Hatsumi created the bujinkan from 9ryu.6samurai schools n 3ninja schools.Hatsumi only really teaches 7of the ryu.But out of the 6samurai ryu.3of them were used by ninja as well.Gyokko ryu n koto ryu.I`m not sure of the 3rd.

bugei ryuha daijiten lists gyokko ryu as a verifiable koryu or koshijutsu and mutodori, and is also the backgone of all the Iga ninja arts. you can take your pick of Hatsumi, Tanemura, Manaka, or even Kaminaga Shigemi and Ueno Takashi since Koto Ryu was originally a ninja art.

you're talking about hatsumi, I'm talking about the complete takamatsuden arts. gikan koppojutsu is considered taijutsu and ninjutsu, and is listed in the BRDJT. in other words, it's solid.

Takamatsu never said that he invented ninjutsu, ever. He rewrote many of the scrolls and changed some of the kata, and added new things and changed old things. Some cannot be verified yet, like Togakure, but others, like Gyokko ryu and Gikan ryu, can be proved beyond the shadow of a doubt. If it's in the BRDJT, it's accepted, regardless of what the ivory tower NKS thinks.

Watatani would not have listed any Takamatsuden arts if Takamatsu had said, "I made it up", plain and simple. That would have been contrary to the entire purpose of cataloguing the arts in the BRDJT. Takamatsu DID have to "fill in some gaps", and re-write several scrolls, and also made changes to the kata in accordance to the Kuki family. You're rewording a line about how ninja children started off playing simple games. Any art in the BRDJT is historically documented and safe.

no holes in the linneage, just that some of the scrolls were lost and rewritten by Takamatsu, but since ninpo existed in kuden/okuden form and the scrolls are just "guidelines" for the kata, the arts were able to survive. If Takamatsu had told one of the authors of the BRDJT that he had INVENTED the art, he would have been discredited, and all the Iga-based arts such as Gyokko ryu, Koto ryu and Gikan ryu would have been removed from the 3rd edition. Yet, there they are, proven and documented

Probably because he had to rewrite many scrolls due to WW2, and presented them to the Kuki family. Whether or not they are recognized by NKS or NKK is not important - they don't even recognize Takenouchi ryu, and you can't get more koryu than that. Some koryu haven't even applied to their organizations because they are known by reputation. The bottom line is, Gyokko ryu, Koto ryu and Gikan are recognized by the BRDJT, have elements of ninpo, and are verified.

Shinsengumi are the wolves of mibu before Japan became modernized or start to be. They were with the emperor and were helping them. They started with three leaders but Kondo became the only commander. They had multiple divisioins like 12 and they had amazing fighters such as Hijikata and Okita Soji. Hijikata being one of the vice commanders and okita the first division captain. Okita was a prodigy swordsman and was very young, he died from disease while hijikata was hardcore. ^.^
