you really need to listen to the song a little bit more the song rapture is about two people who got together had a child out of wedlock, she snapped, killed the baby because she thought god told her to. he blamed god and all throughout the song and at the end forgave the woman and went back to god.

@petathleticclub i respectfully disagree. i don't think they resent religion to the extent that i believe you think they do. i think that they don't think that people should be so self absorbed in religion. In this song, he sings about how the other person thinks god is more important than him, same basic concept for rapture.

I'm not sure if 'House Carpenter' is about Jesus. I have heard differing opinions. I heard it was a 16th century Scottish ballad\poem called "The Daemon Lover". Nickel Creek, Bob Dylan, Jeff Lang, Natalie Merchant, and others have all done versions as well. If you search YouTube for 'House Carpenter' you will get many different artist's renditions. But of Course HURT's is the best! lol
