WeTab was promised to be shipped on 19-09 then 21-09, now the shipping is moved to 23-09. There could be indeed some delivery/software problems however there is no official message yet from Neofonie which is strange indeed - it is about 20000 customers pre-ordered this tablet at Amazon.de.

I don't really get why people would want Android to tablet. Thta if anything shows that the UI was never meant for tablets, much more than ipad.

Still this is from small manufacturer and while it seems much more functional than some other tablets i much rather wait for big manufacturers like Nokia, Acer or Asus. That hopefully use the default MeeGo tablet UX that looks amazing really.

@tissot233 actually the wetab runs Meego and thats was designed for tablets from the start (ran on the Nokia N770 tablet 6 years ago). The interesting part for the wetab is it can run meego and android apps.

@kmlkmljkl I am not saying you cant do it, just that there are limitations to the UI and hardware (screen resolution for starters) that Meego and ChromeOS dont have. Also Google have stated (a few times now) that Android OS as it stands now is not ideal for tablets (should be ok by Ver 3.1).

@LinuxGalore That's not completely true. There are many differences between the two. Maemo was meant for ARM CPUs while MeeGo for Intel. Yes, you can recompile but it is not something a normal user can do. Maemo is Debian based while MeeGo is RPM based. So a smooth upgrade is pretty much impossible. It's like comparing Fedora and Ubuntu.

Anyway, my point is that there is no official MeeGo phone yet. and I want one! Hurry up Nokia!
