Ok, guys, this is not right. However, not everything is perfect in English hospitals, is it. I am lucky to be alive after giving birth in an NHS hospital and I don't even want to go there telling you what I went through there.
.......this breaks my heart to know that this goes on in the 21st century! Nothing has changed in the 2yrs when these facilities were first exsposed to the world and it pains me to say that the most humane thing to do to these poor little souls is to euthanaise them!! I won't apologise for the spelling error if any....but I DO "APOLOGISE" to all the suffering children that are under the care of such 'cruel, vicious and cold hearted so called " governments AND carers"??

if i were a multimillionaire, i would hire a group of armed guys and just go in there and take all of the children out, and give them healthy food, a warm bed and possibly someone to look over them for the rest of their life. I mean for real, THAT IS INHUMANE, in fact, those workers are monstrosities who need to burn in hell.
Simply because they are the children of gypsy's does not make them any less needy for love, stimulation and nutrition. We cannot help the parents we were born to. In my opinion saying such things is the same as thinking any race is inferior.
Sickening, I saw this documentary when it first aired and has stayed in my mind ever since.
I keep seeing that these are gypsy children, as if that matters. But how do you know? Or are you just assuming, because it is culturally "acceptable" to treat gypsies like this?
And the lady who us brave enough to make these films should be honoured. If ever anyone has lived a worthwhile life...
call them gypsies because there isnt a word of them in english, if you walk around town, even the biggest ones for example there are small children cleaning windows, or begging, they need to get some money i am blaming the people who work in the orphanages, and yes they are bulgarians, but havent acually had any proper education or anything, but when people actually found out about this place so much people donated, so its the goverments fault for not raising awareness.
BG is a shitty place to live..., more precisely, to survive...I've tried this lost of years...Although I do not meet any difficulties of this kind, I can assure you that this movie reveals something many Bulgarians refuse do face. But they will have to. What is this phenomenon 'abandoned child' at all?! This is just not fair.
it make sme ring the fact that the careers must have alot of money becausse they arent really thin and then the kids r sticks :( ts awfull this im onlyy 13 im a child id fee awful going through something like that
One of the child's thumb was cut from them because he sucks his thumb. Small kids suck their thumb for a reason.. It's a torturing to cut his thumb.. I can't stop thinking the moment his thumb was cut...
@sweetypie000 , those are not Bulgarian children. They are Gypsy: product of very early sex-they marry at age 12 and abandon their kids, so we Bulgarians are stuck with caring for their special needs.
@sweetypie000 , exactly, and we Bulgarians have to pay the price for GYPSY paedophilia and the result of it. A Bulgarian does NOT desert any child, that's why those orphanages are filled with ONLY Gypsy kids. I feel bad for them, but how is it my fault that Gypsies marry at age 12? They are NOT Bulgarian.
if they are in these places then the Bulgarian government identifys them with being citizens - regardless if they are 'gypsys'
The irish travelling community are also 'gypsys' - but they ARE irish.
Whatever you say is wrong ! if you think I am wrong then theres one simple answer - "Bulgarians work in these orphanages" and so they are to blame for not helping these kids and standing up for their living conditions
Does it matter how these children were born? they are suffering and thebulgarian government and bulgarian tax payers COULD help if there was an ounce of humanity or love in the country. It's sickening that anyone would not want to help them. How can this world ever have peace and safety for all when discriminatory views like yours are common place. Your county is made poorer by your attitude, not the expence of these children.
We Bulgarians LOVE children, that's why you won't see many in orphanages. We don't just pop out 1 a year. You are preaching the wrong crowd. These are GYPSY children. Can you adopt them all?
If you can't see that children are children regardless of who their parents are, and you can condone the lack of care given to theses children I am sorry for you. I suppose that it was attitudes like yours that let the nazis do what they did to gypsies and jews all those years ago. how sad you can't see how evil this type of attitude is. I'm so glad you don't speak for the majority of bulgarians who have helped rescue these children and close this place.
@rachelward1 , it's the Bulgarians who take care of these children. The Gypsies create the problem, throwing a BABY AFTER BABY to the institutions, and WE, BULGARIANS, are forced to deal with the horrifying consequences. It's easy to say you feel sorry for the kids, but why don't you ADOPT a couple? Anyone can talk!
As it happens I work with children so may be that's why I feel as strongly as I do, and have supported 5 children from Romania already. Believe me I could earn much more doing something else, but I feel my work, 60 hours a week plus, proves that I do more than talk. I think that the problem here is that you seem to think that these children are being cared for. They are not!
In the UK you would go to prison for treating an animal like these children are treated. You keep going on about gypsies as though that makes it ok. You cannot defend the undefenable. This video is horrifying because of what has happened to these children in care. Most of them would be almost perfectly normal with a bit of love and care. It does not cost money to hold a child, sing to him or give him a toy from a cupboard.
The staff, toys etc are there already. The staff training is all that is needed, but if they think like you all the money in the world will not be able to provide that!
@rachelward1 , yes it matters! Do you know Gypsies marry at age 12 and most of these wretched kids are product of incest and paedophilia? The problem is deeper than you think. We need to uproot this type of Gypsy "culture". They even sell some of their babies!
By the way, paedophiles like prepubescent children, so they cannot make babies!! Sex offenders go for the older kids. you should try to get the technical terms right!!
It is apparent that Deedee is a bright intelligent girl... It is sad she has no one to talk to... But she can read and write.. I hope she write.. by god i hope she writes a diary... i hope she publishes her work... someone has to see how these kids live... and I dont mean just visit and make a documentary... I mean read it from the mind of someone who lives there every day...

The director should have been put up against a wall and shot after having been tortured and made to endure what those kids were made to live through
EVERY Bulgarian should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves
This is a concentration camp. It is now closed but I for one will NEVER forget this disgusting abuse of children. IT STILL GOES ON
This country is a disgrace to humanity
The male 'care' worker that beat the kids should be found and executed
i'd beat the shit out of him i swear to god

The movie had to be edited so that the extremely unbearable footage could be cut out.
The uploaded footage in its own right does much justice to the plight of the forgotten children.
