This actually works quite well, the only thing I might say is they are a little jarring just popping in like that. Maybe if the memory segments were tweaked to look a little more ethereal (hazy around the edges, or black and white etc) it might flow a bit better.

I would've added a few more scenes from when Anakin was very young and dreaming of becoming a Jedi, and also his grieving over the deaths of his mother and wife (i.e.--motivation to save his son). But all in all, this was fantastic. One can only imagine how much was going through Darth Vader's mind right then....you helped bring it to life.
I like this clip more than the original. This with flashback memories makes it all a lot better. When Vader see Luke suffer in pain by the emperor, Vader will se count Dooku, master Windu, Padmë and Obi-Wan Kenobi. It's not just the love from a father who saved Luke from the emperor. However, when you create something out of nothing, i guees it is not easy task to give logic to every little detail. I mean, even those stories that everyone think are great have plot issues, like Lord of The Rings or Matrix. That's why, things like puffy faces are not important enough to distract from the main plot.
@DrmrGuy1979 Actually i'm not covering anything, it is on the comic books. Read Dark Empire for further information and you'll see that being on the dark side is, for lack of another word, "bad" for health.
However, Dooku never got puffy face and that is a real mistery. May be send lightning bolts through your hands is possible for a short period of time. After that, you got the puffy face..........i guess

I really liked this edited version because it really showed vader going back years before to all the stuff he did and all the suffering he brought to people, and at that point realised that the entire time he had been used by palpatine to kill others he knew and loved, and seeing his own son being electrocuted by his master made him realise the mistakes he had done. I think this version was really well done and just showed Vader's bright side. I would give this a 5/5 stars!
@fsx20022004 See, that's the thing with Palpatine. He treated all his Sith apprentices as easily dispensable and replaceable. This is my viewpoint: Palpatine used Count Dooku merely for the Separatist movement during the Clone Wars, and when the conflict was finally coming to an end, Palpatine then decided that Dooku had now outlived his use, and so manipulated events so that Anakin would eventually kill Darth Tyrannus, thus instigating his ascension unto the Dark Side of the Force.
@ak47523 you're probably right he probably would of thought of a kiss that he and Padme shared. Something good, but it does kinda make sense though because everything he thought of the emperor either did himself or drove anakin to do for him.
The prequels may have not been all that great, but this really empowered the climax, especially with Luke's famous line as the final flash back. This completes Star Wars for me. B)
@niels332 i may be wrong but i think its because palpatine real looked that way before. palpatine was already corrupted by the dark side and so looked all evil and wrinkly as most sith become over time, his friendly old grand-dad face which he has in the prequels was the result of cosmetics and illusions created with the force in order for him to blend in, so when he was shocked in ep.3 he stopped the illusion to make it look like windu was causing him great pain, which made anakin side with him

Despite the prequels mostly sucking, Ep. 3 really does enhance this scene (Luke is the last trace of this guy's utterly-destroyed life)--I just watched all these movies again after a few years, and Ep. 3 is maybe better than Return of the Jedi.
What's awesome is that the junior novelization of ROTJ, written AFTER the prequels came out, had this point of view in Vader's mind. Seeing Luke tortured made Vader remember Padme and the realization that he let her die and is now about to do the same for their son finally broke him from the Dark Side.
i disagree....I believe that with Vader having the flashbacks alone gives him redemption, meaning he's realized what he's done. Instead of having the "Luke" flashback i would have plugged in Obi-Wan saying " You were the chosen one"
Cool! Should have thrown into that where Anakin says in Ep III "What have I done?" and in Ep II where he says, "I slaughtered them all". And then show Padme saying, "you're breaking my heart".
I would remove Luke saying I am a Jedi since, if this were integrated into the movie, we would have just seen that.

I think this version was really well done and just showed Vader's bright side. I would give this a 5/5 stars!

@fsx20022004 See, that's the thing with Palpatine. He treated all his Sith apprentices as easily dispensable and replaceable. This is my viewpoint: Palpatine used Count Dooku merely for the Separatist movement during the Clone Wars, and when the conflict was finally coming to an end, Palpatine then decided that Dooku had now outlived his use, and so manipulated events so that Anakin would eventually kill Darth Tyrannus, thus instigating his ascension unto the Dark Side of the Force.

The prequels may have not been all that great, but this really empowered the climax, especially with Luke's famous line as the final flash back. This completes Star Wars for me. B)

@niels332 i may be wrong but i think its because palpatine real looked that way before. palpatine was already corrupted by the dark side and so looked all evil and wrinkly as most sith become over time, his friendly old grand-dad face which he has in the prequels was the result of cosmetics and illusions created with the force in order for him to blend in, so when he was shocked in ep.3 he stopped the illusion to make it look like windu was causing him great pain, which made anakin side with him

Despite the prequels mostly sucking, Ep. 3 really does enhance this scene (Luke is the last trace of this guy's utterly-destroyed life)--I just watched all these movies again after a few years, and Ep. 3 is maybe better than Return of the Jedi.

What's awesome is that the junior novelization of ROTJ, written AFTER the prequels came out, had this point of view in Vader's mind. Seeing Luke tortured made Vader remember Padme and the realization that he let her die and is now about to do the same for their son finally broke him from the Dark Side.

i disagree....I believe that with Vader having the flashbacks alone gives him redemption, meaning he's realized what he's done. Instead of having the "Luke" flashback i would have plugged in Obi-Wan saying " You were the chosen one"

Cool! Should have thrown into that where Anakin says in Ep III "What have I done?" and in Ep II where he says, "I slaughtered them all". And then show Padme saying, "you're breaking my heart".
I would remove Luke saying I am a Jedi since, if this were integrated into the movie, we would have just seen that.
