I saw my sister-in-law hooked to machines. Her life force monitored...never rising... steadily falling. until she was no longer here.

My brother, Aids, Cancer. I saw him. His last goodbyes. With faith and yet not sure. Are any of us? Really?

This is an original song, written, arranged, and performed by me, with backing vocals by My daughter.

My brother-in-law was incarcerated, and this song was originally dedicated to him and the feeling a family has when a member loses their sons and brothers to the prison system (guilty or not) pain is there. We all question ourselves. Jail is not what it should be. it Also includes allowed violence from rape, to murder, or drug addiction.

I wanted him to hear it. But i was too late. He left prison, went to jr. college to change his life.

He was murdered in his sleep.

And so it goes.

I rededicated the song to human suffering, and to the subsequent losses of my sister in law and my own brother. So that is why it has so many dedications attached to it.

later the song was recorded with far less dramatics by the Band "brown's bag" and released in '05, lead sung by me and Ward brown who also has experience great losses in his family.
