Geez, Natla's cold as icy water. She doesn't even care about the Doppelganger, even though she's a creation of Natla. Even that the Doppelganger's just some sort of an artificial creation, she has feelings. I hate cold people. I can't stand them

@MrAndrewThorpe If she was in the eitr longer then she would've become a thrall. She climbed out. The Hammer did not kill her, just weakened her a lot and the eitr did more damage to her body. The machine was supposed to regenerate her completely. "Doppy" killed her, though, by sadistically letting her drown in eitr.

@MrAndrewThorpe Those were already dead corpses, so the eitr REANIMATED THEM. Natla was still alive when she went into the eitr. NO the Hammer did not kill her, she got hit by it more than once (we see her get hit twice in cutscenes and it did not kill her, that is certain). Had she been killed by the Hammer BEFORE going into the eitr, THEN she would have been reanimated into a thrall. But she was not. She was never damaged enough to die by the Hammer. But being drowned in eitr DID kill her.

She walked in with the Hammer, struck Natla with lightning and yelled "Shut it down!" Natla was unaffected by this, though, and went on to talk about the Seventh Age. All I've been saying is that Lara never hit Natla with the Hammer enough to actually kill her.

She did not BECAUSE SHE WAS SCREAMING. So whether or not she fell in the eitr after that would not have mattered. She still would've been alive, just taken a lot of damage.

@MrAndrewThorpe I'm fine with that, though, because Tomb Raider can start fresh; it was made into a Trilogy with Legend and the story at its core was pretty much finished. Maybe Natla and Lara will BOTH return with a new story. I'm not sure, but I kinda want them to keep Natla in the reboot, just add or change OTHER characters and some new settings/plot. Won't make much of a difference, Lara still looks awesome as hell. =)

@MrAndrewThorpe ALL Gods are said to be born immortal, and only a God/Goddess can MAKE a mortal an immortal. MAYBE Natla was born in Atlantis mortal and made immortal, but since she's been alive for such a long time I have to doubt that. And Tihocan was NOT in his tomb, I'm pretty sure that implies he was still as alive as Qualopec. Unfortunately, some things will be left for us to wonder instead of having further appearance or resolution now that the series is being rebooted.

@MrAndrewThorpe As for the eitr, I'm also fairly positive THAT could only kill her from prolonged exposure (being drowned in it like she was in Lara's Shadow, which is why she must be dead at that part). The problem is that not enough info is explicitly stated in-game so we have to theorize a great deal for ourselves to fill the holes in the story.

@MrAndrewThorpe Wrong. There is a cutscene where Lara hits her with the Hammer's lightning OUTSIDE of gameplay was my point. And you said she was dead when the Hammer hit her. She wasn't. I'm positive that the Hammer could only KILL (as in take away her immortality) her from repeatedly being beaten into submission with it and its lightning, but Lara never does that, though she almost did on Amanda's second tanker, which is why Natla got scared for a moment.

@MrAndrewThorpe We've only ever seen humans become undead thralls from the eitr. Natla would have been killed by it, but only from PROLONGED exposure. But there is still the matter of Ragnarök and its outcome; in order for a new world to come about in the Seventh Age, humanity would have had to be destroyed. If the planet was just repopulated by thralls and not cleared of civilization, then Natla's plot would have not made sense. So I don't think eitr's effects from exposure are consistent.

@MrAndrewThorpe And if Lara did explain that in the game (I missed that because I didn't finish the entire game myself) and Natla was already MOSTLY a thrall because she still had her mind but was not actually dead, then being drowned in eitr like that would mean she would fully become a thrall, but she was a Goddess so she would not become a thrall she would be destroyed by the "life liquid".

The machine was definitely not gonna make Natla anything but her old self. And Natla was a Goddess, she was always immortal ("I've lived many times more than your entire civilization") being born immortal, as Tihocan and Qualopec were also. We even saw in Anniversary that they were not actually dead in their tombs.

@MrAndrewThorpe The eitr was poisonous, it didn't save her. The only reason she didn't die was because she managed to climb out of it after Lara and Amanda left with what little strength she had left. Over time it would have killed her. But she managed to get out, she was still alive, so she had to still be immortal, just not invulnerable (she was much weaker). The machine would just make her back to the way she was before her defeat. It USED eitr to power itself, it would reverse the effects.

@MrAndrewThorpe Being struck by Thor's Hammer and submerged in eitr did not take away her immortality, it simply weakened her physically; she was still very much immortal, she was just using that machine to restore her body and strength. Had the process been completed and had she been reinvigorated back into her old self, she would have just tracked down another relic of Atlantis out there somewhere to bring about Ragnarök and the Seventh Age. She was a relentless goddess.

The Doppelganger probably wasn't created in Helheim. Remember the Southern Mexico level where there was also the poison water? Perhaps her birth place is another remnant of Atlantis that Natla found. The Doppelganger is also a super-human/super-natural version of Lara, she could get through many obstacles that Lara would die trying to overcome. It's also got something to do with the orders she's given - do it by any means necessary. Hope this helped.
