At any rate it's my most favorite anime ever as well, that is why I bought all of the dvd's :D trying to support them so they can continue with a sequel :)

wow...so many fans these days. i still remembered that back in the old days, no one knows about this anime. even now, not too many ppl knows about it either. good memories. i wished i could go back in time to the part where there weren't soo many fans like in the late 90s. everyone in the u.s.a. was all about pokemon, sailor moon, and dbz, but only a few ppl like me at the time were into these kinds of anime. missed my memories soo much.

On one Sunday night when I was 8 years old, I saw my older brother watching this opening on the International Channel. At the time, I thought it was the coolest thing I'd ever seen. So I watched it, and it was in Japanese with subtitles. I didn't really mind having to read because I just loved the show for the story, characters, art style, openings, endings etc. I consider Slayers to be my introduction to anime, because it was how i found out that it's Japanese and that it's called anime.

I love this series! I can't believe it doesn't get so much acknowlegement. I'm still watching it but seasons 1-3 (orig, next, and, try) are 78 episodes altogether. Adding the two new ones makes that 104. And it was, always entertaining. The Slayers was never loaded with filler. Yes there were a few pointless stories like when they try to hunt a water dragon in NEXT. But never a long load of crap to offset the good parts like in Naruto, Bleach and DBZ. Slayers is truly one of the 90's best

dbz, naruto, bleach, death note, yugioh, and pokemon, etc are usually rated by kidos. however, these great classic anime are mostly towards adult if you notice because they're all usually had been brought to the u.s.a with the help of central park media and u.s. manga corporation; and plus, most video cassette for animation at the time cost about $30.00 and there's not too many kid size charcter for kidos. i really miss these classic anime.

Seriosly, after watching all the seasons of Slayers, I can honestly say that it is one of the greatest animes ever!!!! I absoulutly ADORE the fantasy setting, the Lore, characters, story, powers; everything! :DDDDDDDDDDDDDD

Its just sad that a series this awesome is not that well known amoung the younger anime audence :(

I finally got round to Watching this Classic 1990's Anime Series just last night & i enjoyed every second of it, Why the BBC or ITV Never broadcast it at the time i cannot imagine, It would have been an immediate runaway Success overnight.

Why I prefer the English dub of "Slayers" over the "Pokemon" one:

* They've kept their original names instead of something very plain and typical

* The voices fit for them

* They get to swear

* Even after a decade, nearly the whole, original cast returned to dub the next two seasons of this show!

* Their voice-acting just keeps getting better and better!

this show undoubtedly has awesome writing. Not particularly heavy on the plot, but each episode is usually excellent, especially after the major characters have been introduced.
