It is dangerous everywhere! The country is absolutely beautiful though!! Even on the interstates there are huge signs warning "hijacking hot spot" or at traffic lights "smash and grab hot spot"! Just don't ever go out at night, don't look like a tourist, carry as little money or valuables as possible, always lock your car doors and if you go out at night, don't stop at red traffic lights - just slow down and if clear, go! It sounds awful, but that is how the locals live!
