@ElvisRockVinyl Believe it or not, I understand your love for vinyl. I own about 1,200 albums myself (and about 500 45RPM's). It's an amazing technology for what it is. But in terms of sonic fidelity, it isn't the CDs that sound bad, it's the poor, compressed remastering (and "brickwalling") that makes them sound bad. Elvis music, properly remastered sound amazing and vibrant on CD. Check out the DVD audio of The Beatles' "Love" album. Pure heaven compared to vinyl. Honest.
Thanks for the immature "come back" line. Do you want to drop the insults and begin arguing my point on an intellectual basis? Let's get one thing straight, on a TECHNICAL (audio quality) point-by-point basis, vinyl does NOT measure up to CDs, plain and simple. Vinyl becomes even more pathetic sounding compared to DVD audio, especially in the surround sound realm. I'm not here to piss off those who love their vinyl, but it's time for a reality check.
@nmeunier I agree to some extent. Most people talking about the sound quality are listening through crap monitors. Lol. Only thing i like vinyl for is how random the inspiration is. Its about discovering music you never knew existed. Thats whats great aboutt vinyl.
Vinyl-lovers are delusional. They only "sound better" because they're fully of harmonic distortion, limited dynamic range, surface noise and so on. I'll admit some CDs don't sound better than the record (but mostly due to poor mastering), but the signal-to-noise ratio alone typically makes them far superior to their vinyl version. Listen to Queen in DVD-audio/video in surround sound and you'll swear they were right in your living room!
"somewhere out there there's alot of records...you just have to go find them". I know that's right! Good to know it's not just me who is a fanatic. Yall just stay away from my neck of the woods!
@FuckingStanz It all boils down to sample rate. You'd be hard pressed to tell the difference between a record and a DVD audio version of the record, if sampled at 96kHz/24-bit sample rate. Many vinyl "purists" share their vinyl collection online in this fashion. These guys use $6,000 cartridges, tube-preamps, and expensive tone arms that we "common folk" could never afford. The sound quality is magnificent.
@FuckingStanz Not if you use the best possible way of importing it that is available for you, as well as using a lossless audio format like WAV (for me, i recommend 2822 kbps) or flac (no compression is my style).
Does anybody know the performer of the "Sleepless Nights" song at the beginning of this video? I know one version of this song by a garage band called The Ravens, but I've never heard this other version.
I'm getting sick of people forcing their "vinyl is better than cd" on other people! Don't get me wrong I still play & enjoy vinyl, But I also enjoy playing CDs! Some albums haven't been released on CD so it's inevitable, also you can't put vinyl in your car, plane, etc!
@beano1eye Yea, yesterday a guy pinned me to the ground and made me admit that vinyl was better than CD. And this has happened like 7 or 8 times! I'm sooo sick of it.
I wanted to DJ and I was told by the guy at the Guitar Center the vinyl DJing was better than CD DJing. 4 years later and I have over 1,400 records. Listening to a favorite song on vinyl is like hearing it for the first time all over again, only better.
l have over 1,000. records on my collection. Love taking out a record and play them on my turntable for enjoyment.

When you digitize a vinyl album and play it back in a digital format, isn't the analog "warmth" lost?
