Yeah it was $20 but back then you had to BUY the equipment dish+set-top box and had to pay to install it.I remember that back in the 90s it would range from $299 to $599.The free equipment+setup deal has only been around since 2002 0r 2003.

Eighty bucks will get you about 290 channels. They still have a 40 channel pack (dish family) which is 24.99.
