Unfortunately I lost him when I was 20 and still to this day I am so lost without him. He was my rock and I always looked up to him. I lost my dad about 5 yrs ago to cancer. I remember toward the end of his battle how his hands looked like he was 90 yrs old, he had turned 63 one week before he died. This song makes me cry everytime i sing it, i sang it infront of everyone at my dads Birthday party its a really close song to my heart becuase me and my dad used to sing this song when i was little. And lately i havent been seeing much of him because he chose my sister over me and yea i sing this song all the time to remind me of him and how close we used to be. I know how most of you on here feel.

I remembering hear this song for the first time in 1987 the day after my daddy was buried when I was nine years old. I was a daddy's girl and so this song meant and still means a lot to me. It gives me comfort each time I hear it. I wish I could back and tell my daddy how much I love him and how much he means to me. I miss him each and every day and one day soon I'll see him again.

I can understand where you are coming from. This song reminds of my daddy as well. I use to sing this song to my daddy when we would karoke or when we were in the car and it came on. I lost my daddy this past December 22,2007, he past away with cancer and I tell you what you never know how much you need your daddy until he is gone.

I lost my dad about 5 yrs ago to cancer. I remember toward the end of his battle how his hands looked like he was 90 yrs old, he had turned 63 one week before he died. His hands were always so strong and big and they just withered to bones with skin. It's funny how it is the little things that bring the smiles and tears at the same time. If you still have either parent remind them everyday how much you love them. I lost dad to cancer and my mom to an abusive stepfather. Hug your parents and kids

I lost my Stepfather last September 2007 and my Dad the first day of 2008. It's going to be a sad Father's Day without them - I miss them so much. If you have a father or stepfather, call them or go see them and tell them how much you love and appreciate them. I never knew last Father's Day that they would both be gone this year!

We played this at my Daddys funeral! On 4-24-07 he passed away on 4-20-07. and I still cry when I hear this song. My Mama asked what song did we want to play at his funeral andthis ones the first one we picked. My Daddy was loved by many. I wish I could have one more day with him. He passed away of cancer. I was 22 yr old at the time and I still cry like a baby over him! He left behind a wife 3 daughters 23, 22 & 14 and a son 11. and a grand baby was on the way but is now 10 months old!

This song was played at my granddaddy's funureal. The ironic part of it is that we are farmers and he always had the soft hands when you needed something. He was always there and he could work just as hard as he loved.
I will miss him greatly.

i cry when i hear this song.. i.. my dad hasnt passed away yet.. but he keeps trying to talk to me about... well trying to get me prepared for when it does happen, he doesnt think that he will be here with us much longer... i keep changing the subject and brushing it off when he talks about it... im not ready to hear those words... ill never be ready for him to go.. what do i do? talk to him about it.. or pretend like he never says a word about it. his health isnt the best. i cant do this.. :(

We played this song at Daddy's funeral along with a slideshow of some of his army photos, and it was beautiful. A perfect way to remember the great man that he was.

My Grandpa passed away on November 24, 2007. I miss him so much! I still cry all the time becase I know he won't be at my wedding, graduation, basketball games, & even to see my kids. But one thing I know, He's up in heaven watching me! I love you grandpa! My aunt sang this at his funeral. I still cry all the time because I miss him so much!
