The front of the car looks incredibly aggressive! It offers a mad crazy glare that is completely unique, while the rear appears to be have borrowed from South Korea's Kia Sportage.
If the production model mimicked the concept version including the interior color scheme - Ford would set the stage for the next iteration of crossovers.
The majority of crossovers are less than thrilling to look at, let alone drive on a winding road.

Im telling you if ford gave us the vertrek exterior as is with the addition of actual side view mirrors and a market friendly enterior, they would have a sure top seller on their hands. Forget the dumbing down of the exterior seriously. As consumers we want the technology, safety, fuel economy, power and "different" design.
