Russell wins it against... wait for it... the 8-8 Broncos, who lost 8 out of the last 10 games that season. I met Jamarcus during training camp in Napa right before the '09 season. Dude was fat and out of breath jogging around the field in a no-contact practice, and no joke, Janikowski was out throwing passes just for fun on a separate field, and had more completions that afternoon than the Russell. Watching the kicker hit more receivers than the starting QB, I knew Russell was dead meat.

@ninerstd Jamarcus was decent in 2008, but he had flat-out one of the worst seasons for a QB ever this past year. He didn't even complete 50% of his passes and had the worst passer rating for a starting QB since 1998. To say that JaMarcus was unstoppable against Philly last year is just overhyping, since he was picked off twice in that game.

This may be the step that Russell needs to regain confidence and bring life back in himself If he finishes the season strong or even stays on the bench to learn the game and dedicate the offseason to hard work and losin weight. It will be good competition between Bruce and Russell. Regardless the QB the Raiders will be right there on top wit the Chargers next season. We may have 2 good QBs we can put in if one goes down or struggles or for a play here and there like Mcnabb and Vick do in Philly
