all of us here when we come up to the age of adolescence, isn't it really when we start suffering but also seeing the truth..i remember...i had thoughts...i started fighting for morals..this is right tis is wrong.....why?? i think its just because we start seeing the world for ourselves and some of the believes of our parents teachings dont match with what we are seeing!!!
I like it a lot but I don't agree with the biggest point he makes: Life is ALL ABOUT CHOICES AND DECISION, everything that happened as it had to happen, is chosen for by the person who's experiencing it in order to..well experience, and grow!
We draw every event, experience, person and situation into our life so we can decide in every single moment who and what we are in relation to that.
Really didnt enjoy this video at all, ive never really resonated with Jeff, tbh I didnt think iain McNay did either... I watched his responses and McNay definitely did not seem to connect as much to Jeff as other people on his sessions. I really love him and his wife even though ive never met them I love their questions and their presence... Jeff has never resonated... never enjoyed what he said. I love the emptiness teachings and all of it but the way Jeff says it seems rehearsed

he's talking about the absolute presence on the NOW. it seems fun. life becomes a great playground where one just receives what comes now and play with it now and then it goes away and becomes past and so it doesn't exist anymore and then something else comes and there's another play. to care about future only cause distress. unless it's a play too... like dreaming about something and feeling good about it, without bothering if it will happen on the NOW or not. just for the fun!
Nicely done, Man! Very well spoken. Love to meet you some time if you're in California. I'm in San Diego, we could probably have you speak here if you'd like. I'll make it so. Anyhow, thank you. Nuf said?
As the ego believes it is all there is and that is is located within the body, it decides that the mysterious sense of something missing must be something located externally. This must be so as all that dwells within, according to the ego, is the ego. All the while as the search goes on, Being is always present. The ego fights this realization with all of its might because it subtly senses that if it is realized, the Being re-emerges from its contracted state and the ego is destroyed.
The developing ego in the baby senses a mysterious power in the true identity. Eventually the ego co-opts the true identity and both identities are modulated. The true identity fades into the background and the ego rises to the front. The ego, moving into the front, senses a dropping away of that mysterious power it was trying to co-opt. So the love of oneness is just out of sight. This sets up the sense of missing something and the quest to find that missing something in the world.
If I reflect on babies I have seen, I see how in a sense they were two very clearly unique identities. On the one hand, at times, babies dwell in a state of blissful oneness. They have a gaze of wonderment and connection in their eyes. On theother hand, at other times they appear to be completely consumed by a character who is dwelling in a state of perpetual discontent. The true identity of oneness has not yet been co-opted by the ego.

It is very interesting question that has been debated in The Sisyphus Myth by Albert Camu in existentialist philosophy: whether life is worth living ? His theory I believe was that without becoming aware and accepting what is life would not be worth living...

Great, so being suicidally depressed "has to happen", it is there to "wake (you) up". Just hang in there all you pschizophrenic, bi-polar, and suicidally depressed people!!!! (And all you people with brain lesions etc...!!!!!! Non-Duality rocks! Jeff Foster is so wise.
It all goes wrong when there's the analysis of the future, the spontaneity is broken up and the suffering and misery come from the thoughts, but without that life just spins along with the surrender! The nothingness is the opposite of control.
