I live in MA and I have a great private plan. Under $300/mo, and I had a severe pre-existing condition when I signed up. No problem. So far, they have shelled out over $300K on my behalf, including a live-donor kidney transplant which runs over $200K. No complaints here.

Unfortunately, I had to leave a great job in NJ, due to the "pre-existing condition" thing.
