Lindros was the best he was the next one why. Because the man could fight, score, assist, he could do it better then anybody! He should be in the Hall Of Fame if he skated with his head up he would have won multiple cups its a no brainer! Also his numbers are very similar to Cam Neely's numbers! Mike Milbury is a piece of shit and I would have loved to see him in a fight with the Big E in his prime! Gretzky was great but he didn't have the whole package like Lindros! I say put Big E in!
Lindros had the talents. He was a very physical player and has nice stats. I just don't think he's a Hall Of Famer. I don't believe he was great, he was good, but not great. See, Hall Of Famers where Great for a long period of time. He was GOOD and always hurt.
Alright, let's break down that silly question answering panel-Milbury-a waste of one seat, period.I didn't expect anything but shoveling dirt at Lindros by one of the worst GMs in history.Hard to respect him.Next-McKenzie,always comes off as a smartass, made it sound like "Alright,if Neely is in,then Lindros should be in too."A pretty weak argument Bob.Lindros is waaaay up there in dominance and overall game, and NOBODY,let alone Neely, comes even close.Kudos to Clarke,Duthie-an empty, lame comment.

eric will kick cam's ass any day whether it's hitting, fighting, or pure skills. Come to think of it i haven't really seen that much of cam neely's highlights, why? simply because his footage just isn't as widely shown or available as eric's; it's not as high profile of a career nor a tasty highlight reel as that of the Big E. Even for non hockey people, most people know the name lindros and have seen a footage or two of this great looking monster going through people and
Ok lets start with Bobby Mac. "Eric Lindros scuried out of the building, after terry murry said it was a choking situation" "Lindros and Hextall interviewed after loss 6/7/97" THATS RIGHT ITS ON YOUTUBE BOBBY. YOURE A LIAR!!!!!!!!
That anyone thinks that Eric should not be in the hall your light and knowledge of the game is dim...dim...dim! He did what needed to be done and amazed those who saw him on the ice., Dominated like I have never seen anyone do! Deal with it. IN or OUT he deserves to be there!
Milbury makes a fool out of himself and sounds exactly like all the haters and bashers posting on Lindros videos-weak and off base comments.Atta boy Bobby!I didn't think for a second you would doubt Lindros' greatness.
Bob Mac is a total ass! Believe this buddy! Im sorry bob once again making claims that are completely false! Looks to me he didnt want to talk to you! This isnt the first time you have lied on tsn and im sure it wont be the last. Mike Milbury you are the worst person to talk about representing the game of hockey. You are not respected in the nhl! You are a homer for everything that is the boston bruins. Suck It Mikey
You know what after all is said and done,Eric Lindros was an incredible talent,he can set goals up,he can score& he can fight,Eric Lindros was at one point the most marketable player in the NHL.Had he been able to stay healthy,I truly believe that Eric Lindros could have been the next one.He had everything that every single team in the NHL wants in a player.I say Eric Lindros deserves to be in the NHL HALL OF FAME,1 more thing him & Cam "the banger"Neely are 2 very personalities&players
@moraltraitor Well he helped cause his own concussion problems. When he was hit, he always seemed to have his head down. And if you have your head down in the neutral zone skating with the puck, you're asking to get hit. There is no doubt that if he played this year during all of these blows to the head, Lindros would be knocked out at least 5 times.
It's ridiculous the amount of head blows over the last few years thanks to the likes of Matt Cooke. Heads up or not, #88 was a tremendous talent that too much drama and injury derailed a potential HOF career.
All you haters get a grip! Eric Lindros was exciting to watch, a great hockey player. He bled and got injured just like many atheletes. These guys rip ligaments, break their bones, get concussions, and entertain the masses because they love what they do. All this negative crap, you fools wouldn't last a minute on the ice with these guys. Eric Lindros in the Hall of Fame....YES, WITHOUT A DOUBT! One of the GREATEST hockey players of all time!
He might've been "good" as a player, but due to his limited leadership, and his excessive whining to his parents, perhaps not. Those hits from Darius Kasparaitis and Scott Stevens really changed his style of the game. He wasn't all THAT good of a player. Even Cam Neely was better than him stat wise. If Neely didn't get his knee damaged by Ulf Samuelsson, he would've been able to help the Bruins win a Stanley Cup.
Eric, sorry buddy. I don't think you're going into the Hall of Fame.
I think both Neely and Lindros deserve to be in the hall of fame. Lindros could dominate an entire game by himself. His concussions were a shame, because he could have done a lot of great things even after he left philly
if i had to pick lindros or neely i would pick lindros easy..lindros for about 6 years was one of the best players in the league he did more then just score he could change a game with big hit..neely was a very good player but u would never consider him a top 2 or 3 player in the league
Eric was the first of a big super talented player that we see now. He has the 14th highest points per game average in NHL history (He was 5th before the Stevens hit) everybody above him (aside from Sakic, and Yzerman) is in the Hall of Fame. If Cam Neely can get in then Eric should be a shoo in, Neely is a step down, may have had more heart but in terms of talent the two dont compare. Neely was an average player in comparison, played fewer games then Eric, scored fewer points in games played.
Lindros was dominant for such a short time, but his lack of leadership, his whining and disregard for other hockey players puts him out of the hall in my opinion. If he gets in then Kevin Stevens should go in as well. Stevens is the original power forward who like Lindros had a period of time where he was one of the most dominant players in the league and also did something Lindros never did, won 2 stanley cups. BUt like Lindros, Stevens fizzled out.. Neither should be a hall of famer.
To the Lindros fans (and critics) the best way that I have seen Eric Lindros' career described was in the new book "Let's Talk Hockey: 50 Wonderful debates". The author goes over both sides of him and comes up with a conclusion as to why he had such a disapointing career based on what we had hoped. Good read. Eric on the other hand, hmmm, I don't know if he's Hall of Fame material, if so he won't get in right away and the earliest would be 2010
fuck no he doesnt belong in the hall of fame he was a horrible teammate and captain and had only slightly above good statistics that is not hall of fame material the only thing hes famous for is trying to screw over the nordiques which he didnt he screwed over the team he got sent to (Philadelphia)
Really, what has this guy done. Never had a full season, never scored 50 goals, and never won a Stanley Cup. He could sure dish it out on the ice, but he couldn't take it. I think he had like 8 concussions. He always seemed to be hurt. He isn't tough enough to be in the Hall of Fame.
How is Lindros a step up? I like Lindros, but he's not Neely, total opposite. If Lindros had half the heart of Neely he'd have his name on every trophy. He had such skill but was such a head case, if it were based on skill alone he'd be a shoe in, but he was a problem from the start.
I wasnt comparing the two. The point I was making was Neely wasnt a particularly dominant player in his position, Lindros was. Why should off ice stuff play any part anyway. Its not like Lindros was a criminal or something. Lindros did have the heart at the beginning of his career, it seemed to go at the end though. Players should go in judged in judged on talent above everything else and Eric deserves a place in the Hall
Neely was more feared that Lindros? Not even close... Neely was 6'2 200 pounds that could hit fairly hard and was a middleweight calibre fighter. Eric Lindros was 6'5 245 pounds that would demolish you even if you braced yourself for the hit, beat guys like Chris Simon in fights and could go through 4 guys hooking and slashing him and go in and score. Lindros in his prime was the most physically dominant player to ever play the game, the only close player behind would be Stevens.
Lindros had his fair share of baby moments but this guy was AWESOME. Never saw him lose a fight, thunderous hitter, great hands, great on faceoffs & very good passer. Shame his health couldnt hold out but is easily a hall of famer. If Neely is in, 88 has to be in (Eric was much more dominant)
I grew up loving hockey in the "Lindros" era in Philly so I might be biased and as someone who has played hockey for years and been prone to concussions I feel for him. He should be in the Hall, his numbers might not be as great as some but, can you hold concussions on a player. At his peak he was the most dominant player on earth, and one of the top 25 ever. Now he was slowed and has had to stop, but in my heart I'll remeber the Big E and his 88 flying down the specturem ice and scoring.
mike milbury? why is he on tv? there cant be one single person that cares what he has to say, the casual hockey fan doesnt even know who he is. who is he to judge eric lindros's career. eirc lindros was every teams target game after game he took a physical beating n gave everything he had every night. he was the nhl in the 90s he kept hockey alive. he made the flyers a relevant team again.milburys a fuckin goon the only videos u see of him are when he went into the stands, what a career he had
im a flyers fan and hate his guts for his off the ice shit but he had good stats and changed the prototype to a young player he changed the game so i believe he sould be in
Bob gainey has also won a stanley cup do tell me how many has eric lindros won? the answer is none at all hes a little whiner who needed his dad and mom to speak for him which is why he doesnt deserve to be in the hockey hall of fame
Promoting the game of hockey MIKE MILBURY. Your the last person to talk about promoting the game. NO heart you're an asshole. Lets look at your career as a player. YOU SUCKED. Plus lets look at your track record with the ISLANDERS as a gm. Lets face it you are RETARDED.
Cam Neely and Bob Gainey are in the hall of fame....and Lindros has BETTER numbers than these two. Sure, Neely scored 50+ goals twice but Lindros had a 100+ points season.
It still doesn't change my mind of how I felt about him.
Five stanley cups, a con smythe, a few selkes and doesn't deserve to be there eh i suggest you shut your face cause you clearly don't know what your talking about and your coming off stupid
As a forward (modern hockey) you need 1 and at least 1 point of these 7...1-1000pts career 2-50 goals season 3-1000gp in NHL 4-a stanley cup 5- a scoring championship 6-conn smythe 7-500 goals career...and Lindros has NOTHING !!! what a loser ...but yes for the failure hall of fame...
Top four or five all time in PPG, 7 years as a top 10 player, and the hall is about as exclusive as a haitian brothel. I hate the bum but if lindros isn't in the hall then someone needs to expel howie meeker.
Clarke is one to talk about his parents holding him back in the final years with Philly. Clarke mismanaged him horribly. Shoddy medical care, rushing him back to the first line, no less, after concussions. Total BS. So much of this "heart" factor they are talking about is just a schmooze thing. Eric didn't care to sell and promote himself to teammates, reporters, etc. That means he doesn't have heart? I think it means he thought a lot of the publicity aspects of the game were BS.
eric was so good he could change a game without even scoring with a big hit ...what super star player played his kind of style hitting scoring setting people up he did it all and because he banged people around people took runs at him ..simple as that for 7 years he was a top 2 or 3 player in the league period
Millbury is almost as bad as Olczyk. Lindros was the best for a long time, and even when he wasn't the best, he was one of them. To say he didn't have the heart, or the drive, is insane. Go back and watch his Hart award ceremony if you wanted to see just how much he wanted to win. He was a bad teammate? Yeah, sure. Look at Leclair and Renberg's stats without Lindros and you'll see just how "bad" of a teammate he was. With some teammates, he'd have some cups. He was always fun to watch.
no way!! he's one of the nhl's busts. not playing for the team who drafted him, multiple concussions. only scored 40+ goals twice in his carrer, total bust in nyc, etc
He'd get my vote for sure. I'm an Isles fan (don't laugh lol) but he was my favorite player at the time. How can you not love a player with skills and grit (eg: Forsberg, Ovechkin, etc). I'm shocked that Clarke was so positive during that convo LOL
ya we finally have fans.the burgh has been a hockey a city since 1984.waiting list for season tickets, new arena coming in 2010.a 10yr waiting list for steeler season tickets.the only team most here can't give a shit about are the pirates.
was that a shot @ me jerkoff?funny how are fans don't boo when we suck(like the city of brotherly drugs).and whats even more comical is were up 2-0 nigger! So if i were you i'd probably keep my negative comments to my self, especially when i'm giving one of your boys props.
that was a cheapy by fogg. Much respect to bern for the accurate comment. BIG E had more points than games played and nobody combined size, skill, and speed like him. I still rock his jersey but i also wish they kept forsberg so it's kind of a mind F#@!
being from pittsburgh i hate anything in orange and black.but you have to give credit where credit is due.if he stays concussion free he's probably in the top 10 of all time.he was the total package of what a power forward should be.its a shame his career ended like it did,his last 5 years he went unnoticed.if i had a vote...he would get it.
Ifs don't define a HOF career. If he stayed healthy. If he was surrounded by better players to win a Stanley Cup. When looking back on a career, it's not what should have been but what was. He was a very good at points but not enough peaks in his career to help. The zero 50-goal seasons and no Stanley Cups do hurt his cause.
no question he is a HOF player for about 6 years he was one of the best players period...he could have a impact on the game witout even scoring a goal or getting a pt he was in that time a to 2 or 3 player and if everyone compare him to neely i dont remember him ever being a top 2 or 3 player very good but not top.
He was one of the greats. Easily as good as Neely and some of the other "power forwards" that everyone idolizes. Take the controversy away...and he was one hell of a player. When he was on the ice for the first 8 years of his career...he was the best player out there.
Off the ice, he was not somebody you wanted to represent hockey. No doubt his points are great given the number of games he played, but this is somebody that thought they were bigger than the game of hockey until recently maybe.
Ya another thing if he stayed healthy he would have broken most if not all of Gretzky's records just saying we miss ya Big 88!

mike milbury? why is he on tv? there cant be one single person that cares what he has to say, the casual hockey fan doesnt even know who he is. who is he to judge eric lindros's career. eirc lindros was every teams target game after game he took a physical beating n gave everything he had every night. he was the nhl in the 90s he kept hockey alive. he made the flyers a relevant team again.milburys a fuckin goon the only videos u see of him are when he went into the stands, what a career he had
phillyflyers112 2 years ago

Promoting the game of hockey MIKE MILBURY. Your the last person to talk about promoting the game. NO heart you're an asshole. Lets look at your career as a player. YOU SUCKED. Plus lets look at your track record with the ISLANDERS as a gm. Lets face it you are RETARDED.

Cam Neely and Bob Gainey are in the hall of fame....and Lindros has BETTER numbers than these two. Sure, Neely scored 50+ goals twice but Lindros had a 100+ points season.
It still doesn't change my mind of how I felt about him.

If Bob Gainey is in the hall of Fame, almost everyone should be

Five stanley cups, a con smythe, a few selkes and doesn't deserve to be there eh i suggest you shut your face cause you clearly don't know what your talking about and your coming off stupid
Magpie010101010 3 years ago
Thats a tough one man, Gainey is one of the greatest defensive forwards ever.
bak8976 2 years ago
nope but has a mvp and was a better player then neely was if anyone knows hockey knows this
foggyfogs 3 years ago
foggyfogs ...is Lindros ever scored 50 goals in 50 playing games in a season ???
vesivialvy 3 years ago
neely is in the hall of fame and lindros's numbers are better ...and neely was never a top 5 player lindros was
foggyfogs 3 years ago 2
As a forward (modern hockey) you need 1 and at least 1 point of these 7...1-1000pts career 2-50 goals season 3-1000gp in NHL 4-a stanley cup 5- a scoring championship 6-conn smythe 7-500 goals career...and Lindros has NOTHING !!! what a loser ...but yes for the failure hall of fame...
vesivialvy 3 years ago

Mike Milbury is the man!
always tells it like it its
drthmstrbtr 3 years ago
eric was so good he could change a game without even scoring with a big hit ...what super star player played his kind of style hitting scoring setting people up he did it all and because he banged people around people took runs at him ..simple as that for 7 years he was a top 2 or 3 player in the league period
foggyfogs 3 years ago

I'm shocked that Clarke was so positive during that convo LOL

was that a shot @ me jerkoff?funny how are fans don't boo when we suck(like the city of brotherly drugs).and whats even more comical is were up 2-0 nigger! So if i were you i'd probably keep my negative comments to my self, especially when i'm giving one of your boys props.
bern1417 3 years ago
wtf
bern1417 3 years ago
that was a cheapy by fogg. Much respect to bern for the accurate comment. BIG E had more points than games played and nobody combined size, skill, and speed like him. I still rock his jersey but i also wish they kept forsberg so it's kind of a mind F#@!
sundar213 3 years ago
being from pittsburgh i hate anything in orange and black.but you have to give credit where credit is due.if he stays concussion free he's probably in the top 10 of all time.he was the total package of what a power forward should be.its a shame his career ended like it did,his last 5 years he went unnoticed.if i had a vote...he would get it.
bern1417 3 years ago
EXACTLY !!!!!!!
cptjrkov 3 years ago
Ifs don't define a HOF career. If he stayed healthy. If he was surrounded by better players to win a Stanley Cup. When looking back on a career, it's not what should have been but what was. He was a very good at points but not enough peaks in his career to help. The zero 50-goal seasons and no Stanley Cups do hurt his cause.

hes a big fuckin terrible hockey player.
Lindros sucks ass
gruopower 3 years ago
no question he is a HOF player for about 6 years he was one of the best players period...he could have a impact on the game witout even scoring a goal or getting a pt he was in that time a to 2 or 3 player and if everyone compare him to neely i dont remember him ever being a top 2 or 3 player very good but not top.
foggyfogs 3 years ago
He played such terrible hockey. Constantly skated over the middle with his head down. He had one year of statistically outstanding hockey.

lindros is a fucking machine. legion of doom RIP
philaowens81 4 years ago 3
He was one of the greats. Easily as good as Neely and some of the other "power forwards" that everyone idolizes. Take the controversy away...and he was one hell of a player. When he was on the ice for the first 8 years of his career...he was the best player out there.

Israel and Palastine ! lol haha

Lindros is nothin but hype

Off the ice, he was not somebody you wanted to represent hockey. No doubt his points are great given the number of games he played, but this is somebody that thought they were bigger than the game of hockey until recently maybe.
CEYC55 4 years ago
I think he should...put the family issues behind him...but the points indicate he should be in...over 1.1 pts/game...mvp, etc etc etc
