  • Can you please upload an example? I'd like to check this out, to see how you made it :)

  • nice!

  • Oh God you're good!

  • I love it! Can you please send me the .gmk file please? I BEG OF YOU!!!

  • I love it! Can you please send me the .gmk file please?

  • Any good explosion particle code?

  • Can I get the exe? It looks fun..

  • Is this music from unreal tournament?

  • @flamesdemon19 Yep. Facing Worlds

  • Nice! I like the concept, maybe you should try to make a fitting background and possibly some more advanced characters/objects :D

  • GOD DAM PHYSICS, HOW DO THEY WORK?

  • @vytong Miracles.

  • @DarkPieman don't get me started on magnets...

  • it´s a really good explosion effect ;)

  • Great game

  • Unreal tournament music amirite?

  • wow! really nice explosions!

  • cool, haw did you make the power aiming please ??? i really want to know it, thanks ;-)

  • please man can you tell me how you maded the explosion , or if you can, even post me a example of it.. please

  • wow this is really cool and very tough to do even with the full version

  • Please make a tutorial and/or upload the gmk file :)

  • Thats fucking awesome!! Make a tutotrial O_o, really!

  • holy shit im more amazing by the explosion effects.. were they made with particles?

  • @DaFleegsta No, they're objects, which makes it run more slowly than it would if I could have used particles.

  • sweet, but what exactly do you have to do?

  • Please do a tutorial, its awesome!

  • Hey this looks pretty awesome. Well done on the collisions and explosions, sir.

  • good job 5/5 :)

please make a tutorial for explosions

  • Very well made, i have never even tried to make physics like this.

  • Unreal Tournament '99: Facing Worlds

  • impressive

  • can you please upload this game?

  • I love it :o could you make a tutorial?

  • wow great graphical effects i wish i could do this

  • Hmm , you said in the description that it wasnt impressive (the fire effects) well on that part you was right , it wasnt impressive it was AMAZING!!

    :D:D:D:D

    5/5

  • This is really cool! Well done!

Also didn't know Unreal Tournament had great music!

  • cool :)

  • hmm.. seems more like bounce and friction then physics.. still good though XD

  • nice, look at my physics game aswell =D

  • JeZuS:D

  • those explosion effects look really nice!!!!!

  • I just recreated this example. I just need to fix a few bugs and speed it up and I'll post it as a video response with a download.

  • Have you uploaded this anywhere? Because this could really help me :)

  • YES please do us all a favor and make a tutorial. this is pretty good stuff

  • Example or tutorial ???

  • amazing i like that very much

  • make a TUTORIAL!!!

  • Actually, I lost this game file, but I could do that I guess.

  • oh and i like your username lol

  • i'm making a open-source physics engine. can you tell me how to transmit motion to other objects? thanks, I tried with motion_add or motion_set but it's not the result that I want

  • Well, what are you trying to do? I forget how I did it in the video (I lost the gmk file on my old laptop) but using "motion_add" should work.

What sort of problems are you encountering?

  • sorry, the problem is not motion_add, is the transmission of speed. I tried with a for loop and a with construction, but it works bad and there are any sort of errors. I tried impressing energy only in the direction of motion but if the object stops with direction 270 the method is completely useless. sorry for my bad english but I'm italian

  • What sort of errors are you getting? If you want, you could upload the gmk file and I'll have a look at it.

  • I published a video with the phys engine. as you can see if there is a stack of balls or crates and an object hits the bottom of the stack, this doesn't fall :(

  • Do the objects set their gravity to "0" when there's something below them? If they do, you need to check each step for something below it, which is pretty slow but the only easy way to do it.

  • This was well done.

I bet, in my opinion, it was fairly simple to make this game, and anyone who really knew what they were doing could do it as well. That being said, the graphics are what really amazed me. Are those your own animations or did you get them via some source?

  • I drew, animated and coded everything you see here myself. I can't prove it though, since my laptop's hard drive was broken shortly afterwards. I've got a YoYo Games account (it's currently empty), which I'll upload my games to once I have more free time.

  • I'll take your word for it.

I have an account as well. I currently have three uploads but none of them are too impressive. I do more playing around with stuff then actually working on one solid project.

  • Yeah, I've got hundreds of unfinished projects that I got bored of tinkering with after a while. If I just focused on one thing I might have finished something by now.

    :-/

  • Well, you've definitely showed how well you can do on a finished project/tutorial with this video here. I took five unfinished projects and strapped them into one game and I was actually somewhat impressed, if I had put all of those elements into one game it would have been pretty good. I say keep doing what you're doing because it seems to be working lol.

  • wow how long did this game take you to make...this game is freaking awsome

  • wow, awsome, can you send me the files?

  • how did you make the physics?

  • i want this game

  • Then use the nice music software to make music, not Game Maker...

  • is the game for download

  • awesome! >:D

  • i really wish this was for mac...

  • They're working on a mac version of GM, but I'm not sure how it's progressed.

  • Designing any game on a mac would be a bad idea any way.

  • This is awesome!

Keep this up, and you could have yourself a very popular game! 5/5

  • I'm impressed.

  • what is your Yoyogames account

  • have you made any games using these phisics???

  • No, but I'm thinking about a top-down shooter that could use this engine. I need to rebuild this, though, since I lost it on my old laptop hard drive.

  • the explosion look reallly nice like black pauder or something

  • looks nicely programmed. good job.

  • I didn't want to tell anyone this, but I'm getting so many comments about it I think I have to. The laptop I had all of my Game Maker stuff on has a severely damaged hard drive, which is apparently unfixable. I'm working on a new version of this, but it'll take a while. I should be able to do it again, don't fret.

  • you should save a copy over with your friend or something so if it happens again ;D

  • I'll definitely be backing them up in future, yeah. I think a synchronised folder with some friends would be a good idea. Of course, I'll upload the .exe files to my YoYo Games account, too.

  • cool, i been working on a game myself i dont have a video up though maybe we can do something together

  • nice ut music whered you get it?

  • You must upload

  • wow! ynd you made this with GM7lite???

  • Yes, but it's quite slow on most computers because it doesn't use particles and things, just lots of objects. I recorded this at a Room Speed of about 15 FPS, and sped it up four times when I edited it (it's meant to run at 60 FPS), but that was mainly to get a decent quality recording on Cam Studio. Unfortunately, the laptop with this game on was damaged and is being repaired. When it's fixed, if I get it all recovered, I'll upload the .gmk to YoYo games.

  • This looks really sick, especially since its Game Maker! Good job. Is this uploaded yet? i really wanna see this!

  • yea tell me when you get the code up because i really want to see how you did it! Thats really impressive you made it in Lite. well, at least to those who dont have pro it is, because the only vids ive seen of pro show it doing things like that.... not that special if you can already do it lol

but seriously i wanna see that code! the fire and smoke is reaaaaaally nice ;D

  • Nice!!!!!!

  • I need help with the explosions. Can someone show me where to download an image of one or something and how to use them? Its the only thing in my way

  • Well, I drew my own explosions for this.

If you go to the Yoyo games website (there's a link for it in the bottom left corner of later versions of Game Maker) then you can find lots of resources to help you make games, like sprites and sounds, etc.

Once you've got your explosion sprite, making the object for it is really just a case of putting a "destroy instance" action in the "animation end" event.

  • Whenever I find those, they always look ugly because theres the left over black stuff around them.

  • I could send you mine if you like.

  • Could you? If you are willing can you post link on my profile?

  • As long as it's not pro, because I have lite, i'll credit you too.

  • Yeah, it's not pro. I'll get it done soon, and I'll tell everybody who asked for it when I do.

  • please send me to!!!

i cant find good explosions and fire anywhere

  • i want to know too...

    it looks AWESOME!

  • You must upload!

  • This is amazing!!

could you send me the .gmk file ?

  • I'm glad you like it. I'll upload it to YoYo games so you can download it there. There are still some bugs.

I'll send you the link when I do that. (might be a while)

  • Please tell me too when you upload it :)

    This is pretty nice

  • Me too please! that was awesome!

  • Cool!

  • do you know how to make ball-like sprites roll?

i use gm5 and my platformer's enemies should be able to roll and change direction if something comes up and that sorta stuff, y'know what i mean? now their sprites just freeze when they touch the ground/walls and they keep bouncing like that.

  • I'm not very good with platformers. If you're using the registered version, you can get add-on packs like physics engines from the YoYo games website.

  • I just realized that too ^^ i have to update my gm first as its too old.

  • Those explosions beat most registered particle based ones. AWESOME!!!

  • 5/5 favorited.

I love the physics. I use Game maker, but I'm no where near your skill. Great Video.

  • If you like this, I could send you the .gmk file sometime and you can take a look at how I did it?

  • Brilliant, even as a recording the fire and smoke is very good!

    Snazztastic! ^_^
