Why was Jim so fond of that Electro Voice mic?

I used this one ( forget the model #), with it's built in threaded end for screwing onto the mic stand, throughout my teenage years to record with, but never thought of singing through it. I guess after all every time we see Jim singing we are listening to a recording too. He really was an insightful man.

Krieger didn't have a black eye here. HE had it in December of 68 on the Smothers Bros show. This was mid 1969..just sun glasses. theres footage from him on this day with glasses off. No black eye.
