i agree with you all all your commets are correct the QV Is in a way nice but in a way ugly and nothing can beat the lines in which the qe2 had becuase she was britished designed and built thats the best part. I agree i never want to sail on something that the decks are plastic i find this annoying after a while to be honest. carnival do what a crusie company dose makes money by having ships that are rubbish desgined for a job
At least QV is the best looking of the mass-produced Carnival Corp's Vista Class ships. Stick a Cunard Funnel and paint her hull dark grey and presto you have a 'Cunarder'. She is a twin (externally) of Holland America's new Eurodam as well as the new Vista Class Queen Elizabeth. Ashame the beautiful QE2 is being retired as this is what the future holds.
The design factor within Carnival is governed by cost and that is a reality. One could almost live with the constant look alike hulls within Carnival and all its brands. For me its the interiors that are the most annoying. Cunard is designed and managed by Princess, the Cunard experience is defined with elements from Princess and modified to fit Cunard. The amount of carryover is simply enormous. Carnival suffers immensely from designing on the cheap..they squeeze every design nickel they spend.
Celebrity cruise vessels look a lot more like ocean liners than cruise ships.More elegant than this piece of corporate trash.
The QV & the new QE in 2010 are both a disgrace & a big let down to cruise fans.
I would never go aboard a ship with plastic decking & from what I heard from a great cruise reviewer the service on board is bad & the food is not so great.
It's a shame the QE2 is going away , I'll miss her & I hope to see her for the last 2 times in NY this fall.
Design? What do you know about design? Let me see your resume, tough guy. Now I KNOW design... I'm Mr. Design when it comes cruise ships, tough guy! You like those lights in the P&O cabin closets. Me friggin' idea!! So don't talk to me like you know about cruise ships.
AAAAAAaaaargh, Matey! Don't be talkin' no ships with me becasue ye don't know nothin' CaptainTurkeyButt about seafarin'. AAAARRARRRRGGGH! Where's me parrot? Aaarggh! I designed the bidets on Princesses line, so don't be talking to me about no cruise ships. AAAARRRGHHH!!
I bet the Icky Vicky misses you..I bet Mr. Arison over at Carnival misses your money even more! You'll be happy to know the new Queen Elizabeth will be the Eurodam with a red stack..so you'll be able to cruise with Holland America and Cunard at the same time!
I think I'll refer to her as the Queen Victoriadam..like everything with Cunardival it will be done on the cheap.
queen victoria is a beautiful ship and i cant wait till the queen mary2,queen elizabeth 2 and the queen victoria comme back into mine and there's home town/port SOUTHAMPTON
Sorry you feel that way, we thought she looked pretty nice, regardless if it wasn't a completely original design. If it wasn't for Carnival, the Cunard brand would probably be bankrupt by now.
No denying that Carnival saved Cunard. Unfortunatly they've applied the same hand ne down philosphy with Cunard as they've done for all their brands. If you look closely Carnival recycled more than a hull design with the Vicky, a great deal more. That's what so disappointing with Carnival. They have the resources to raise the bar and have decided not to. Disney is a case in point, they invested heavily into creating something different in the market. Carnival has time and again opted not to.
Carnival did save the company from total Bankruptcy.Their real crowning moment was when they built the Queen Mary 2 which I think is a engineering marvel of the ages with ocean liners.
The Queen Mary 2 is huge but it has style and class. If I would to cruise with Cunard lines I would only sail on board the Queen Mary 2 & no other ship , I like to pay for style & quality.
Other than that they have the cash & talent to build great looking ships but they're cheap when it comes to that.
Great shots! I wanted to make it back in time for her departure, but I wasnt able to make it. At least I was there for her early morning arrival! hehe
Oh My. Queen Victoria is prettier than ever.

Who are those twatriots with the Union flag? Cunard is American, the ship is Italian, and even her home port is foreign owned.

Crossing my fingers she might still sink.
Another boring Carnival Clone...seems Carnival is incapable of producing an original vessel on their own. Thank goodness they have competition.
