  • Top video.

  • One guy has absolutely zero shoulder rotation and cant do the floor exercise.

  • I needed this video. Thanks a lot!

  • Very useful, thank you.

  • Really good video. I concur with the methods he mentioned. I would also say that a healthy dose of omega 3s would lower some of the inflammation ALONG with soft tissue work and strengthening the lower traps and external rotators. If his raw bench is 500lb, he should work up to moving 50lbs with his external rotators to maintain shoulder stability.

  • thank you so much! I have started doing these exercises ten minutes a day and my shoulder and upper back pain is nearly gone after only two weeks. I can step under the monolift with confidence again, I recommended you to all my gym-buddies.

  • Thank you! this little bit of info is tremendously helpful.

  • is there an ideal ratio of internal/external rotary strength for an average "normal" person, someone who is not doing sport specific training?

  • awesome vid . . . I am not very strong (yet) and my external rotation sucks. I have been working on it for about 2 months. For a while, I couldn't even squat. Fish oil--for the inflamation--and stretching have worked wonders.

  • I like the YTI's. I would've cleared the neck first while watching squat technique when I hear symptoms down the arm, but that is the MDT training coming out. I like using these in the clinic, and I have finally come around to addressing myofascial issues on myself and since I've seen progress, I am using this technique on my patients to. GREAT VID!

  • It's crazy how such small muscles have huge impact!

  • That's a great videos. Thanks.

  • great post. ..

  • Indian clubs and mace swinging all the way for rotator cuff strength

  • Great video. I'd like to see some more stuff like this.

  • excellent video thank you for posting

  • I don't really get shoulder pain. But my shoulder flexibility is bad, squats used to hurt my shoulders but my flexibility improved slightly just with persistence. But my shoulder blades still stick out when I try to straighten my shoulders up.

Hopefully doing some of these help, thanks.

  • really great video. back 2 basics

  • Nice vid. I was having shoulder pain a little before and thought it was from benching so I stopped. But when I was squatting it was still hurting so I discovered it was my squat. I took a break from squatting and it all healed up.

  • Shoulder dislocations are also an excellent exercise for increasing shoulder flexibility for anyone looking for additional stretches.

  • turkish getups are good for strengthening the shoulders

  • Wiow this is really great information, i've had issues with my elbow sometimes when squatting or even good mornings. are there any other things one can do to help shoulder flexibility and elbows?

  • @iamspaata Mike's YouTube channel (RobertsonTrainingSystems) has some more videos like this sprinkled around. Look for the SMR Series.

  • Great video. I can relate to this.

  • My shoulder hurts after i bench with 80%+ of my max. I think the pain comes from getting the barbell of the rack. My right shoulder doesn't seem to like that.

When i stand up and then try to tough my toes and swing my hanging arms forward, then i feel a slight pain in the front of my right shoulder. Had it for 2 years then it was gone because i didn't bench much and now it is back when i bench heavier weights again.

  • Great video, will use these exercizes!

  • Great video! Ive been wondering what do about this problem

  • Excellent video!

  • Dam little muscles!! very Helpful
