  • one word------YOGA!

  • It is rare to hear a healer tell you to listen to your own body! Those are the only healers I trust! I am trying these techniques! (Note: the audio keeps cutting out.) Thank you for making this video for me to learn from, and for all your gentle encouragement.

  • Ever tried Zhan Zhuang? Baguazhang? All about the fascia. :)

  • I tried this and it works and it's amazing!

  • I bet this chick is crazy in the sack

  • Thanks. In just a few minutes I feel great already. This is certainly a great service to the world.

  • thanks for the video, and your right it is a roller coaster ride to hell and back;

  • I just did this for a while after my shift as an LMT and the first time I saw this video I didn't pay much attention to it but now when I just did it, I was able to relax out my back without much effort and it felt great. I also have a degree in dance and think every dancer should experience this for the bodymind connection dancers really need to hone. Thanks for the upload.

  • QUESTION: if you go WITH your body, how do you know you aren't just "falling" to the "tight" side and winding deeper into your "negative" habits????? Thank you in advance.

  • @theLionHorse Listen to the steps of what he is saying. Go where the body wants to go, where it's easiest, then if you find a place to stretch you hang out there and stretch, lengthen, breath and find muscles to relax in the position you are in. Most people cannot move freely for long before finding the tension to stretch out, the reason the ease of movement is needed is so the mind can tune into whats going on. Body moving at ease means the mind can be at ease. Hope this helps.

  • @VisionsofSprode thanks so much! i thought about it more - i think the initial "release" takes one INTO their symptom. this is why I was confused. initially, you DO fall into compensatory counter-tensions, but it MUST happen as a first step. THEN...one must continue DEEPER into the exercise & use it to unwind that place unconsciously - w/o mental thought, eventually finding a new place & treating ROOT of problem, not symptom. it is mentally & physically letting go! happens together. thank you!!

  • This is an old but excellent video - and John Barnes is absolutely NOT a fraud. You could not say that if you'd taken any of his classwork.

    I'm a practicing massage therapist - 24 years.

    Janet Alexander, LMT

  • Actually this guy is not a fraud. John Barnes is one of the leading instructors in Myofascial release. I will agree that his courses are a little expensive, but his model is the same as any other instructor teaching myofascial release. Tissue unwinding is a real thing. I have had it applied to me, as well as done self unwinding to my low back, neck, and TMJ area. To those who are properly trained in massage and anatomy, Myofascial release is a wonderful technique for self and clients.

  • Hate to be the bearer of reality here, but this guy is a fraud.

  • Thank you for the informative video...yes inferior audio but just the same it is easy to appreciate what is offered.

  • Well, still cant hear. something wrong with my audio. MFR work is great though!

  • I agree...this is inferior. Take it down like you were asked. Sure it is good knowledge, but it is very poor audio.

  • ow wow !.. very holistic and very simple !!>.i like it...im glad didnt take it down

  • Wow, why didn't you take this down like you were asked? You don't have permission to use this material.

  • Jeffmyo - we respecfully request that you remove this DVD from YouTube. We have been receiving numerous complaints that the audio does not match the video portion. More importantly you do not hold copyright authority or permission from the owner of this DVD, John F. Barnes, PT or Myofascial Release Treatment Centers and Seminars, Paoli, PA. If this DVD is not removed from YouTube within 48 hours, you will be contacted by our legal counsel.

  • @lakeintheclouds1

  • @LegPains

  • I put this video on my blog to share with my massage clients. This feels great and anyone can do this.

  • This is a great video, and a wonderful technique which I share with all of my patients.

  • @LeBauerPT
