Karate and other shaolin based styles also use simultanious defence and attack, and they all move forward, that is not the main difference between those arts. The more apparent differences are the ways to generate jin and some basic details, and most differences disappear when you go deep enough
Actually, that's a pretty good age to start learning. Old enough to understand what you're learning but young enough to have the energy to train hard.
it dosnt matter how old you are.I used to think that it did matter but soon realised that thinking that is stupid.I know someone who started at 31 years old, he just wanted to be good and didnt let his age bother him.Hes pretty good after a year of training! at 16 you have years and years left!
People be honest. At the age of 30 it takes much longer to learn and you're techniques will not be into your system as much as when you're younger. You will not be as fast and as fluent as younger students.
It depends on the person who is training. It's mental. Your either open to it or your not open to it. Or you can relate to it or you can't. At 16 it's not likely that your going to be open to the concepts of centerline etc. Your just trying to get in there and punch someone as much as possible. Where as let's say your a little older and your into chess, you can relate each move to something on a chess board.
true. But it's better to start at a young age because then the moves will get into your system faster. With the basics in your system, understanding comes after that.
It's no chess. If your body can't adapt to the moves, you'll never learn it.
My boy is only 3.5yo and have started him on WC for a couple of months, still abit of work to get him to concentrate but he's picked up quite abit. He can do stands, fast straight chained punches and followed with straight kicks. I throw a punch he knows what to use to block, so never too late.
nice to hearfrom someone who is not claiming to be the best at anything. This guy is humble enough to want to listen to and serious enough to believe.he speaks in truths.

Great great stuff. I trained with these poeple and I have nothing bad to say about them.... but.... It was as if he was quoting from the Duncan Leung video I have. But I guess same family...same theories. Good stuff.
Nice lecture! It's high time we have this kind of illustration to dispel so many myths and misunderstand of the system. Too many ignorant remarks on this site criticizing the system lack of punching power, no technique in retreating, no footwork, etc, etc. People know little but jump to conclusion as usual. Keep up the good work and put out more clips. Thanks.
What a wonderful seminar - really honest and well spoken :)

There's no age restriction in Wing Chun. Anyone can learn it.
Go for it, there's no such thing as too earlier or too late to learn something =]

Disagree, it depends on the person or the age. We've got guys started when they were in their 40s and mate, not bad I can tell you.

I think the bitching people should watch the "on knife defense" vid by this guy.
"Analyse it, go home and analyse it. It's only effective if it works in a real fight" ;)
People should analyse more and THEN come to conclusions. Every MA has its uses in certain situations, some are just more all-round than others :)
