It's a great video to have made, that BR onto the bridge can be a nightmare - I know it took me ages to nail, and even now it's 50/50 if I'm honest. Well then you're doing everything right besides the sideshifting. Good sideshifting is KEY to being good at WipEout HD. It may not be necessary to beat the game, but it makes it a huge amount easier. Try with the sideshifts and see what you get.

Dude, I finally got it; but i did it with 5 barrel roles, I did the two starter barrel roles and immediately after the second barrel role, i did the advance barrel role which gave me enough time, then I nailed the first overpass barrel role and the last barrel role for a grand time of 30.51. Key to it all was setting the controller to motion pitch, that helped out alot.

Well first thing's first, let's try to get an idea of what's going on. Are you just trying to follow the video by sight alone or are you following the tips from the video description and/or the annotations I added to the video (centre bottom)?

@Xenocide2097 I mainly try to follow the instructions you provide on the vid, the first thing i'm fuckin up on is the left sideshift to the second outer speed pad and if i do hit it and hit the last on, i'm scrapping the wall, second thing is the barrel roles, pain in the ass, i do manage to get the first one nailed down but the follow-up barrel role doesn't work frm time to time and when it does, i'm either not hitting the right pad or i'm zoomin over both and scrappin the wall in the narrow...

Well with the Sideshifting the the first corner, you'll also need to be steering/airbraking a little to make sure you get the nose round the corner properly. Getting the 2nd sideshift is more important than hitting the final speed pad. Normally though, you can just let the craft drift to the outside and you can sideshit away from the wall and hit the pad nicely. Maybe try to point the nose of the craft down a little when you try the 2nd BR after the boost.

Or don't pitch up as much when you do the boost initially. It only require a small flick of nose up to get enough air to barrel roll there. The excess speed you gain from the firsst barrel roll should be enough to get you the height needed for the 2nd one. You don't need to worry too much about the SS before the overpass. Just make sure to stay tight to the wall to minimise distance travelled. When leaving the overpass just spot the landing and waggle LRL like mad. Good luck :)

Lol. I got it on my own I guess :P. I got 30.80! I realized what I was doing wrong. I was nosing up on the second barrel roll instead of just letting it go down. That way I could barrel roll and hit the ground faster.

Well in WOHD the ghost are universal so it isn't an issue but yes I am indeed British.

Have you tried copying a ghost from your PS3 to the USB flash device first, then checking to see if it's there afterwards? Might be worth trying. Then stick it in your PC and see what it looks like/where it is and then copy over the save file from the description. Not really sure what's going on...should work just fine. Failing that I'll make a new file when I'm back from travelling. :)

And after the first lap, I have a new ghost of my own! Please help. I'm not sure if they patched it to where you can't use someone elses... :(

Well the game hasn't been patched in years now, I know you can still use other ghosts with the game, they're universal.

Have you tried posting a ghost, copying it to your flash drive, checking it on a PC, then copying it back? Just to see if there's an issue with transferring the file. Not sure what the issue is so process of elimination might help us find out. Let me know how it goes.

Yes, Barrel Rolls give you quite a significant boost (depends on the speed class, it's more prominent in the slower classes).

In Time Trial and Speed Lap you can do as many as you like but in races the tradeoff is that you lose 15% shield energy for each barrel roll, so you have to get tactical about it.

Well aside from wiggling your thumbs rather rapidly there isn't really an easy way to Barrel Roll. You can give youself a bit more time in the air by pitching the nose of the craft up a little before the jump though, that might help.

If you want to, you can invalidate your current lap and gain a new turbo you may do so by holding the 'reset lap' button (L1 by default) for 3 seconds. This means you current lap is void and will not count. It also gives you a new turbo.

Of course it works otherwise I wouldn't have posted it. You boost over the start/finish line to get extra speed into the lap, that's just common sense. The next turbo is the one that you get for actually crossing the start/finish line, so only ONE turbo per lap.

I've done like 130 laps trying the method WITH the BR at the overpass jump, and the few times I managed to do it properly (all BR's, all pads) I still haven't beatens Zico's time (My best so far: 30.87). I don't understand how it can be possible to make a comparable time with one less BR? Is it all about the line and doing perfect sideshifts?

Pretty much yes. It's all about the lines, so much so that it is in fact possible to beat Zico without ANY barrel rolls. Of course that's much harder than this and this is supposed to be the 'easy' way. It's encouraging that you're getting 4BRs though, should make things easier. I'm not sure how exactly the sideshift distance is affected (someone did explain it to me once but I forgot). In any case, if you think you are sideshifting further than me you are lucky - larger sideshift means you can cut you trajectory even more :D

Remember for this challenge you want ot use brake as little as possible, use only sideshift and normal steering to keep your lines tight ^_^

you need to hold the button for 3 secs to get a new boost. default is L1 i think...
