Just for the record ... I attended the first game ever played at Shea. I sat in the last row in the upper deck and had a good view of the first home run at Shea: Wille Stargell hit it into the right field stands, right down the line.
Shea was a terrible baseball venue due to the fact that it was built for both baseball and football. The fact that it was round meant that most sideline sections were too far from the field. It also looked like it was put together on a budget.
The games, The space to move around, The Mets Blue on the walls, The memories, The fact that you could get an affordable ticket and parking, you could see the entire field.... If you didn't know Citi Field was the Mets home - you would think you are seeing a Dodgers game, the park plays too big to attract free agents, the outfield wall is stupid, it is an amusement park, you can't walk through the place because it is too tight.
Citi Field - Has no tradition, Looks like a home for the Dodgers, Ticket Prices suck, less room, less seats, can't see the entire field, can't walk through the walk ways, poorly put together, plays too large, wont be able to attract free agent hitters, outfield wall is stupid, it is an amusement park not a ball field. At Shea you watched Baseball (The Mets) and you knew it was their home.
The big apple that comes out is tacky in a 1970's cheap kind of way..Stadiums like this truly make me appreciate real baseball stadiums like wrigley field and fenway park..now its just a big restaurant, hotel, digital vacuuming your cash into the jew's fat greedy pockets.
you'd much rather have shae? You'd much rather have an old, unsafe, nausea-inducing piece of shit than a 800 million dollar masterpiece? I'm a yankee fan and Citi Field stands right up there with the new Yankee Stadium as the best park in baseball...Shae didnt have a "feeling"..that must have been the odor you were smelling
i went and shea wasnt completely gone yet. there was about 200 square feet of rubble left but it will be gone and paved over by the april 3rd series with the resox.
That guy who got into the picture was a dick..

Agreed...multi-purpose stadiums are terrible. Thank god Rogers Centre and Oakland Coliseum are the last ones left.

Shea was great.
" It also looked like it was put together on a budget. "

The exterior of the park reminds me a lot of the SF Giants' stadium. Very retro - nice!

Only thing negative I heard was that there wasnt alot of Mets related things hanging inside the stadium such as banners and pictures. Is this true?

Video was shot and mixed with the flip video recorder. It is a great easy to use camera...they just released a high def version as well

I didn't know he updated it again. This must be the third version - 1983 (he sang it at old timers day) and 2000.
Thanks for the video inside the new joint.
