  • I want to know where I can buy this exact track legitmitately.

  • Musickhiin!

  • I've fallen in love with this song, there's beauty in every note of it.

  • Elder Scrolls, Knights of the Old Republic (1&2), Dawn of War. There is no better video game composer.

  • such people are few

  • Even though not all of the songs, this song is still a truly beautiful song. I know the composer that is responsible for this song. I have even gotten to sing one of his songs. I am a growing boy going through puberty though so it was not the easiest thing, but beautiful a masterpiece.

  • SKYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIMMMM

  • Jeremy Soule's the composer of Skyrim's theme song.. is it?

  • @J4Yh7 Not only Skyrim's theme, but all music in the last three Elder Scrolls games.

  • :s Beauty

  • awesome!!!!!!!

  • games into which this man did the music will write you to life as fantastic that one (harry potter 1, in my case)

  • beautiful...absolutely remarkable :D

  • Roh fus dah!!! Fuck, Jeremy soule can't be hurt!!!

  • @MonsieurPoptart its FUS RO DAH.

  • I listen to this guy's stuff when i want to vibe to meaningful music. Such a great musical mind Jeremy Soule has

  • Probably the best track from Guild Wars, and they didn't even use it in-game? Since it's a bonus track

  • Ah but what if we resurrected Beethoven and put him and J Soule in the Hadron Collider? Create the best musician ever!!! Or maybe a mess and a black hole. It's a bit of a large margin of error but hey it's worth a try.

  • J. Soule is great. Beethoven was a genius.

  • Besides, listen to some of the orchestral stuff from the late 19th to 20th century; you can definetely point out some similarities between Soule's work and the earlier classics. Even Swan Lake has some things in common with Soule's pieces.

The point being, don't hate on the classical and romantic era composers; guys like Satie and Beethoven and Mozart laid the groundwork for the modern orchestral. It's like hating Sir Isaac Newton for not coming up with the Theory of General Relativity. :)

  • I've heard of religious and political flame wars on YouTube, but a Beethoven vs. Jeremy Soule flame war?

Don't see that every day. ;)

  • Skyrim and Guild Wars 2 will both feature his music. Games that put so much care in their music are usually worth checking out. Both games look amazing already.

  • Seems the man's been busy since I left him in Secret of Evermore.

  • Imagine you are in a game and expect nothing and then get this.....it knocks your socks off!

  • It's beautiful. That is all. This meeting is adjourned.

  • @blobix1

Jeremy Soule is writing the music for Skyrim, how can that be a rip off of one of his own songs? O.o

  • So amazing....

  • Thumbs up if you think Jeremy Soule should be on Spotify! ^^

  • Nice music, I sure hope he is getting something out of all the views this gets.

  • if you close your eyes and listen to the music in silence, it makes the song 20 times better. try it :)

    gw fan forever<-----

  • I cant decide is Skyrim, GW2 of BF3 be the most epic shit ever! is that a good thing? xD

  • @whybanmyaccount My favorite song was Auriel's Ascension it was so beautiful. It was always bitter-sweet when you go into town because the music was so peaceful you didn't want to leave. Felt like there was no war or oblivion.

  • This is simply music.

  • Comment removed

  • one (biggest) of many reasons why GW2 will be the best GAME EVER

  • @123restartkill Yeah if you're into zombifying and not playing a tasteful game like tes 5 skyrim or oblivion.By zombifying i mean "go there kill this go there bring this go there get this" and that kind of World of Warcraft game. Play GW 2 if you wanna be treated like a hamster.

  • @D3admaus i'm playing this game only because of art in it... and good compositions ...soooooo beautiful.

  • The Only Reason The people play The elder Scrools is music even if they dont know it

  • You are my biggest Idol jeremy Soule Y_Y

  • This IS Classical music! Some people don't really think of this when they hear "Classical" music but it sure as hell is!

  • @TheDavid2222 no, it is not classical music, but is good, yes, it is very good

  • @TheDavid2222 this is classical music. What evidence do you have that it is not? It meets the criteria of Classical music, it would just be called the "First Light Suite". Just because it was put in a game it doesn't mean it isn't Classical music.

  • @TheDavid2222 orchestral music is the proper term. "classical" music ended after the 1700's

  • @miiwiiplay No it didn't. I have read multiple books on the subject and they all claim that Classical music is the genre being discussed when it comes to Bach or Philip Glass or any other modern composer of orchestral music. If you are referring to the Classical musical style then you are correct, but the genre as a whole is considered to be Classical music. The Classical style began in about 1720 and ended at about 1790's, but I'm not talking about the musical movement.

  • @TheDavid2222 I work as a composer for Disney. Usually, when we're hired to write musical containing orchestral instruments, it's called "orchestral" music. If someone were to tell us "classical", it would end up being a huge misunderstanding. We might waste valuable time creating a mozart-esque score when we really should have been writing something more contemporary.

  • @miiwiiplay Well in the not so distant future much of our music will be considered "Classical" so it's rather redundant to not consider it Classical music. Mozart probably considered his music to be "orchestral music", but that doesn't mean it wasn't Classical at the date of its creation. Classical doesn't have to mean music from the past. Jeremy Soule wrote this piece in the Classical tradition therefore it is Classical music. I see what you mean by the confusion though.

  • @TheDavid2222 100 years from now, humans will have probably cropped our generation of orchestral music in the "post-modernist" era. I think you're confused as to what "Classical" is. Classical is a specific era of music, it doesn't refer to music of the past in general. For example, Beethoven lived in the past, but the vast majority of people say he is a "romantic" composer because that's the era he lived in, unlike Haydn and Mozart who lived in the specific "classical" era.

  • @TheDavid2222 Look it up in Wikipedia. According to that source I am right and your wrong. There are two definitions for the term "Classical". One refers to the musical era of Haydn and Mozart and the other refers to the Western musical tradition that stated in the 1500's and is still being practiced at present. Look up Classical Music and you will see that Beethoven and Stravinsky are both categorized as Classical composers.

  • @TheDavid2222 Wikipedia isn't always correct. To the common layperson, Classical music may simply refer to any music composed before the 20th century. But to practiced musicians, Classical music specifically refers to era after the Baroque period and before the Romantic period. It has a specific style that sets it apart from the Baroque era where musicians were essentially slaves and from the Romantic era which idealized musicians as virtuosos.

  • @Taedrin this is hopeless.

  • Not to say this song is boring at all, but its remarkably relaxing. I use it to fly into sleep. I feel like its a soaring song of perfect harmony.

  • 4 deaf people came to this link

  • Ear-gasm *_*

  • Thank You Jeremy Soule for this amazing work of art ! All your songs are sublime

  • Look guys, Classical music isnt that bad.

  • the music makes me feel relaxed and comfortable

  • This one is beautiful ! Jeremy Soule, thanks you to sublimate the games with your music !

  • It sounds like Jeremy Soule has really been influenced by minimalism. I have always LOVED his music!!!!

  • 4 people died by the hands of Prince Rurik

  • Every since I heard his total annihilation works...I live for music.

  • It's too bad he doesn't compose for Movies he would be up their with Hans Zimmer and John Williams and get world wide recongition then. He's more a niche artist tho. His Elder Scrolls and Total Annhiliation Soundtracks are by far the best of his works.

  • @red244 yeah, Hans is the shiznat lol. Modern classical legends Hans Zimmerman Jeremy Soule A few alan silvestri pieces quite a few John Williams James Horner Tons of generic nintendo stuff List goes on and on and on!!! I could live off that stuff
  • @scuzzy5005 Some of my favorites are from Japan. Nobuo Uematsu, Joe Hisaishi, Kenji Kawai, Yuki Kajiura, and the famous (or infamous) Yoko Kanno.

  • Fantastic Track!

  • The thing is, the music is supposed to be only about 20% of the reason why the game is great to play. With Jeremy Soule (specially Oblivion), his music is more than 50% of the game. A great game with an amazing soundtrack = a fantastic experience. I not only still play Oblivion, I have his tracks on my mp3 player and listen to them at work and to sleep.

  • For those who would like to play this

    Ab Fm Cm

    Ab Fm Cm

    Eb Bb Fm Cm

    Ab Fm Gsus4 G7

    Sounds about right

  • @lvbwagyfm

there are few little mistakes :P

  • Soule is awesome, consistently making superb compositions. He deserves more recognition outside the field of gaming, he's easily as good as Hans Zimmer who writes a lot of Hollywood music for example.

  • @BVargas78

Entering the field of overexaggeration. But I like the intention.

  • @Damdidamdamdam no exaggeration, listen to his Total Annihalation soundtrack and then see what you think.

  • @Damdidamdamdam No I agree with him, espescially the point about Zimmer, Soule is easily one of the best composers in video games and deserves more wide spread reconition

  • Jeremey Soule, the best. Incredible track. I truly hope this song makes it into Guild Wars 2. Thumbs up if you desire so to!

  • This song in particular always brings a tear to my eye. It so beautiful.

  • Words can't describe what i feel everytime when i listen to this music. Simple but rich of joyness and deep desire. Thank you Jeremy for your lovely and touching Music.

  • GODLY

  • i wanne have this song in oblivion :)

  • Beautiful

  • oh mein gott... so verdammt unglaublich wunderschöne Musik macht dieser Mann... Ganz genau DAS ist Musik... einfach göttlich...

  • very morrowind-y

  • I believe the term is morrowind-ish!

  • Who needs video and images? It would only distort and distract us from this epic piece of music.

  • ELDER SCROLLS 5 SKYRIM probably has as good music as this...

  • i dont like classic... but this is amazing i love every song of jeremy soul i play oblivion all the time and full musick on

  • i feel more attached to my soul. the effects of marijuana nd deep spirtual thinking are amazing.. i've never felt this way before.

  • i love the prey soundtrack

  • 4 people are level 19.

  • I believe I heard this somewhere in the game, I just don't know where... It would be fitting for a secret garden or sanctuary of some sorts...

  • it's so beautiful. Jeremy Soul is a great composer and oblivion and the other games would be much more boring without his music

  • Thumbs up if you think we should drop Beethoven in school, and learn about Jeremy Soule instead.

  • @sirikalvik Perfect comment, dude.

  • @sirikalvik

Well, I don't agree with you to "replace" Beethoven with J. Soule. I love Jeremy Soule and Beethoven, they are true geniuses in separate ways. I think we never just forget the past, without Beethoven there would be no Jeremy Soule.

  • @MaestroStadt Ok too many people takes my comment way to seriously. It was just an exaggeration of how I feel about J.Soule. Of course I know Beethoven means more to history, mostly because J.Soule ain't history yet, he is still present, and he is still making wonderfull music, in his way of course.

  • @sirikalvik SKYYRRRRRRRRIMMMMMMMMMMMMM

  • @AlexRider001 I think I might have been drunk or high when I posted that.

  • @MaestroStadt

    I wholeheartedly agree with you!

  • @MaestroStadt

Bullshit Jeremy Soule has nothing to do with Beethoven. He owns him in every way but it always comes to taste.

  • @MaestroStadt

Without beethoven or with him ......Jeremy soule did exist so that doesn't matter ...

  • @os0s You clearly misunderstand. Beethoven, along with others, led the way for music as we know it. If not for them, then Jeremy Soule may not even be composing (or alive at all, if you follow butterfly effect)

  • @GreatWallStr1 FunFact: We wouldn't be aware of Beethoven never having existed because he never existed. Which, when you say it out loud, makes both sense and is utterly stupendous to say :P

  • @ringgeest11 hahaha very true! :)

  • @GreatWallStr1

Beethoven did not invent music , With all do respect do some researches about the heritage of music you will know that beethoven is just a composer like any other and in the arabic music history we know and study music even before beethoven existed so i suggest you recalculate your answers if you will reply to this, Jeremy Soule's music has nothing to do with beethoven, He would still be existed .

    Respectfully.

  • @os0s I am well aware of music and its history (not ALL of it, but much of it, as I have taken several classes regarding such topics). However, do note I NEVER claimed Beethoven "invented" music, but he established precedents and paved the way for future musicians, as did many other composers. It's great to say Arabs had music before Beethoven, but in a nutshell that means nothing. That's like saying we had cartooning before Walt Disney, so modern cartoons have -nothing- to do with him. :)

  • @GreatWallStr1 Oh, and secondly, I said "May not even be composing". He could've still been alive, and could have been composing, but I imply there's a chance he might not have been. :D

  • @GreatWallStr1 But i totally disagree with what you said about arabic music is being in a nutshell it have a totally different approache than yours.

    Regards

  • @os0s Well, that is true. Arabic music would likely not be affected by the lack of a composer such as Beethoven... neither would Chinese, Japanese, Russian, African, or Indian music (or other countries not heavily touched by Western music until recently). But the western world could have a very different turnout because of that. :) Of course, this is all hypothetical, so for all we know Beethoven could've influenced an enormous amount of composers who came after him...or made no impact. :)

  • @GreatWallStr1

    Very true...Cheers :)

  • @GreatWallStr1

I agree with what you said when you put it that way,But I'm quoting that you said arab's music was in a nutshell like saying ....etc ,Do know that arabic music and your music are totally different by all means we use about 400 scales when you use like Major and Minor in your music we cover the whole western music industry in one scale we call it (Ajam Maqam) Look it up . anyhow i now agree with what you said about beethoven when you put it that way.

  • @sirikalvik while i admire your taste in soule's music, it's obvious you never listened (really listened) any of Beethoven's work. there's a reason all composers, small, big or huge, find inspiration in Beethoven, Mozart(even though i deeply hate him), Haydn, Dvorak, etc.

BTW, Wagner is pretty much the father of all film and videgame music. check him out.

  • @sirikalvik Beethoven was deaf and he still created masterpieces

  • @matrices24 the sounds are in your mind so doesn't matter if u are deaf that makes no difference expect that u have to have good memory.

  • @sirikalvik If you like him more than Beethoven, that doesn't mean it's worthed learning about him in schools

  • Dude. I just slipped into coma from relaxation.

  • reminds me of the wintersday in guild wars

  • I'm a heavy listening bastard, and I love this shit!!! There must be something special to make a guy who likes an electric guitar on each song listen to this kind of music. Jeremy Soule is the fucking best.

  • Jérémy Soule is really putting his soul(e) to his music.

  • Jeremy Soule is right up there with Jan Hammer and Mark Snow.

  • This man is a genius. I have composed music for many games, and I would say that he is without a doubt the best, most imaginative and most moving composer working in the industry.

  • This man is a genius. I have composed music for many games, and I would say that he is without a doubt the best, most imaginative and most moving composer working in the industry.

  • Hmm.. I'm getting a sense of Deja vu from this music. Almost like I've heard it before, but can't place it... Might have been used in some fan vid though (and no, I haven't even played Guild wars, so it's not from there)

  • @magicrat74 The opening tune somewhat resembles an opera song I once heard. It's a rather popular one, but I don't remember the name. I just recall the tune from it when I hear this track. I'll tell you once I know the name!

  • So............ Beautiful!

  • perfect

  • beautiful

  • the 4 dislikes are just his rival music composers

  • I'd buy practically any game with his music...

They always fit in so incredibly well!

  • If beautifulness had a sound, it could have been only like this.

  • If beautifulness had a sound, it could have been only like this.

  • If beautifulness had a sound, it could have been only like this.

  • Magnifique,magnífico,Magnificent,Великолепный,壮大です

    :)

  • Each time i listen to jeremy soule's music, i fall in a dream....

  • The Morrowind soundtrack was amazing. Everytime i listen to one of his songs it reminds me of the memories...

  • i'd say his best would be Call of Magic from Morrowind

  • great tune but my fav from him would be variations of castle from evermore

  • i cant get the factions/nightfall bonus tracks -.- the media agreement thingy wont load

    help?

  • @whybanmyaccount Jeremy Soule is a great man, indeed!

  • Reminds me of Neverwinter Nights and Oblivion (he made tracks for those games too).

  • Any idea where, If possible, I could find sheet music for this?

  • Yeah, I want to find it too!

  • Beautiful *tear rolls down cheek*

  • I don't know if anybody knew this or not, but Jeremy Soule also composed the soundtrack for Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.

Just thought some people might find it interesting.

  • really? that's awesome :D

I knew he did Neverwinter Nights and all the GW games and Morrowind/Oblivion...

time to go show this to my harry potter obsessed friend

  • He composed the soundtrack for the video game of Goblet, not the film. It was Patrick Doyle who did the film score

  • Jeremy Soule wrote the music for the GAMES. The Goblet of Fire film was done by Patrick Doyle. But the games have better soundtracks in my opinion, even though I adore John WIlliams

  • @vengefulacolyte1 The game, not the movie.

  • yes I have been told several times now thank you for reading.

  • Don't mention it :P

  • i wanna be him when im older :D

well not be him, but you know :L

    i play piano, yaaaaaaaaaaaay

  • awsome composer...i wish he would sell piano music...i would definitely buy

  • Same here.

  • Soule wrote some amazing stuff for Guild Wars.

  • Source of inspiration. It's beautiful.

  • can't decide whether this is better than the crystal oasis track, also from guildwars

  • purty

  • absolutely amazing.

    everytime.

  • BEAUTIFUL!!!

  • Reminds me of Secret of Evermore... :3 The most underrated work of art I know of.

  • I believe that was his first foray into game music composing, wasnt it? I read that somewhere >.>

  • I believe so too. So many aspects of that game are just unheard of in the video game world, and it could never have worked so perfectly without Soule doing the music. Such is his genius :3

  • Best song of jeremy

  • Beautiful.

  • I can't get enough of this song :)

  • for some reason this song reminds me of Elder Scrolls 3 & 4... hmm... I know hes the same composer for both Guild Wars and the Elder Scrolls, but he always seems to use a different mood, tempo and sound for almost all of his songs in every game.

  • I think its better to work out with composing if u know the games background, ethnic environment and so on.

  • I like what I'm hearing. I had a major headache and I was all like "must... hear... Jeremy Soule's music..." This helped quite a bit.

  • man, this game wouldve fitted in PERFECTLY in kryta together with Temple of Tolerance.Too bad they didn't use it. :(

  • this soundtrack * lol
