Amanda Palmer and Neil Gaiman belong to a cult that opposes free speech and free movement. Gaiman is listed in the Scientology magazines as a donor, Gaiman is a Scientologist and was recently photographed at Wealden House the big Scientology center in East Grinstead. Google this. Is Amanda a Sceino? Because Neil Gaiman is a major Scientologist. He was a class VIII auditor, ED of Birmingham Org and Case Supervisor at the Guardian Office. In 1983 he was declared suppressive, but in 1988, FIVE YEARS AFTER THE DECLARE, he appears in graduate lists in The Auditor Worldwide, completing 3 courses. You should care about Neil Gaiman being a Scientologist. Scientology is a corrupt organization that is psychologically and physically abusive, as exemplified by their Rehabilitation Project Force (RPF) where Prison camps are run for "Sea Org" members in Los Angeles, Clearwater FL, Copenhagen and other sites. Scientology destroys lives and Neil supports them financially. Neil should walk his talk.

It's very unlikely that he's a Scientology, in my opinion. He was born into it, I hear his family are still involved, but him? It doesn't seem to likely.

He never talks about it (celebrity Scientology are meant to plug, plug, plug), and is friends with many people who have publicly criticised it (Penn Jillette, Terry Pratchett).

If the Church are claiming he's a member, it's probably an attempt to rake in his fans.

Scientology is a CULT, you don't just get out. Gaiman contributes BIG money to Sceino to remain in good standing. In Scientology, you are either in or out. I think the problem lies in what you define as "getting out". Gaiman hasn't come out as an EX-scientologist. He hasn't criticised them. He's not disconnected from his family. However, evidence (his friendship with people who HAVE criticised it) points to him not believing in it and not being properly INVOLVED in it.

Thank you for an intelligent reply. I agree that Gaiman is not jumping around on couches, but he is listed as giving large amounts of money. He may pay them off to leave him alone but the fact is people like Neil Gaiman are part of the problem by supporting a dangerous cult. At some point each person has to put away childish things, grow up and take a stand against the evil shit in this world...still waiting on Gaiman.

As it's been said, he did grow up in the church and it seems his father was even involved in Operation Snow White. It is possible, with his mother and sister still in, he's harassed by the church for money. It's awful and disheartening to think of him funding such an business.

I do wish he'd leave, come out as a ex-sci and set a good example.
