I Think It's a safe bet to say that Halo PC/CE's Community Is the same size, If not bigger than most of the newer halo games. (Not Reach, But 3/ODST).
This song in particular sends chills down my spine :3 Halo: Reach doesn't have as good a soundtrack as 1-3 (2 had the best) but the songs are still super epic -3
@burnt9991 COD is a game you play for just pure fun. all of the whining 8 year olds and "fuck you"s that you hear over XBL, and the unending mess of shooting at shit. It brings out the little G.I. Joe in all of us. Halo, however, is so much more. It is a story, an experience in this very well developed and interesting universe. It has an essence that brings you back for more story. And this soundtrack just brings it out all the more. It is truly the greatest game of all time.

PC Games have always been more versatile then Console Games have. The Halo: Custom Edition and Halo: Combat Evolved PC Community are still creating a whole new amount of content even now.
Who knows. Microsoft may choose to bring Halo to the PC Market sometime in the future. Halo 2 was on Games for Windows so I can only imagine a future Halo Game might be soon if 343 Industries are willing to do so.

The problem with Halo's Lore is that it is so fine-cut and intricate even towards the weapons that any sort of paradoxes between Books or Games are seen as heretical by the Die-hard Lore Fans.
Halo: Reach is part of the lore and so is the Fall of Reach. Everything from "Destroying the Data on Gamma Station" to operation "Tip of the Spear" is official.
@spartanofFEAR Halo: Reach's Gameplay is fine as it is. 343 Industries try to "improve" the game by giving it Title Update and Anniversary Gametypes to give it a more "Trilogy Feel" towards it.
TU Gametypes feel unnatural to the mechanics that Reach was designed to have and they go badly when it comes to the default maps. Halo: Reach really didn't need these "changes" in its core mechanics. If people found it to be a problem, they should just play Halo 3 again. Its still there...
This goes so well if you read Contact Harvest, a Halo novel that recent was published. It's plot is center around the beginning of the war between UNSC and the Covent. You guys who like to play the games should read some of the books.
Halo is truly an amazing universe. Having read multiple Halo novels (The Fall of Reach, The Flood, First Strike, The Cole Protocol, and Ghosts of Onyx) I can personally tell you that only an ignorant fool would criticize Halo's story as a video game. Halo's science fiction is way up there with Mass Effect and Star Trek. During Bungie's reign over the Halo IP, they personally made sure that the novels, short CG movies, and games stayed true to canon. It's amazing.

Kat's shields were down because the plasma exposure from the glassings knocked out her shields. She was just in the wrong place, wrong time. Her death was a result of bad luck.
@munchies117 No, it only sucked after Halo 3, really. I mean, Reach had an alright campaign and the music KICKED ASS, and the forge was downright AWESOME, but the problem with Halo: Reach is the multiplayer. the BR is gone, replaced with a really crappy gun that you have to be a pro to know how to use, and then there are the forge world maps in multiplayer, which makes the maps appear very dull. And then there are amour abilities, all of them are just annoying, and the active camo sux now too.
The game didn't live up to my expectations but in the end standing alone against a unanding horde i was at peace knowing my part in this story had finished.
If you think about it, the ending of Halo: Reach is similiar to Bungie's fate.
Bungie wanted so hard to be independent that they sacrificed their baby, this amazing jewel of a series to finally become independent from Microsoft so they could focus on what they want without limitations and huge deadlines.
So Bungie held out as long as they could until they finally got defeated and let halo go.
@mAwdedMetalGear Defeated? They were never defeated, they just wanted to get as much money from Halo as they could so they sucked the community dry in Reach to provide for their future in mobile applications. Bungie were good to start, but went downhill in my opinion.

Without the books, there would be no "Halo universe" because the games alone can't expand it's stories enough to even be considered a universe (look at Star Wars, now THAT is a universe, for real). That's where the books come in, to fill up the missing spaces and to shine light upon questions that the games could never answer.
Also, FYI, Bungie had a hand in making of some of the books (the ones by Eric Nylund).
@john79341 the movie is only rumored, frank did say that they might make one, but if they did it would not be based on any of the games. but i would find it very unlikely, due to the fact that last time they tried to make a movie the deal fell through

I'm with Tridyrium; the expanded universe is necesarry for making the Halo story what it is. Honestly, the few canon discrepencies are often insignificant details anyway, so does it really matter?

Any yeah, the Campaign was shit. It has so many plot holes, errors and cliche characters that died the most cliche deaths possible. And they never even cleared up what happened to Jun. The Covenant had an incredibly played down introduction, and the missions sucked ass.
Don't get me wrong, I'm a HUGE Halo fan. Right from CE., but Reach's Campaign was a HUGE let down...

@Deucejr716 A cannon is any piece of artillery that uses gunpowder or other explosive-based propellents to launch a projectile (usually cannonballs).
On a serious note: Canon refers to the official storyline of a fictional universe (Halo, Star Wars, Narnia, etc).
Notice that it's spelled canon, and not cannon.

Kat's shields were down because the plasma exposure from the glassings knocked out her shields. She was just in the wrong place, wrong time. Her death was a result of bad luck.

@munchies117 No, it only sucked after Halo 3, really. I mean, Reach had an alright campaign and the music KICKED ASS, and the forge was downright AWESOME, but the problem with Halo: Reach is the multiplayer. the BR is gone, replaced with a really crappy gun that you have to be a pro to know how to use, and then there are the forge world maps in multiplayer, which makes the maps appear very dull. And then there are amour abilities, all of them are just annoying, and the active camo sux now too.

If you think about it, the ending of Halo: Reach is similiar to Bungie's fate.
Bungie wanted so hard to be independent that they sacrificed their baby, this amazing jewel of a series to finally become independent from Microsoft so they could focus on what they want without limitations and huge deadlines.
So Bungie held out as long as they could until they finally got defeated and let halo go.

@munchies117 That's not being a Halo fan, that's just being an average fanboy.
Without the books, there would be no "Halo universe" because the games alone can't expand it's stories enough to even be considered a universe (look at Star Wars, now THAT is a universe, for real). That's where the books come in, to fill up the missing spaces and to shine light upon questions that the games could never answer.
Also, FYI, Bungie had a hand in making of some of the books (the ones by Eric Nylund).

Like why we were fighting these aliens and what this ring thing is and why is everything on it attacking me etc., but then I read "Fall of Reach" and "Contact harvest" and the others and now I think CE is the best lol.

@munchies117 Really, the canon discrepencies are so much farther and fewer between than most people realize between the games and extended Universe. I'm with Tridyrium; the expanded universe is necesarry for making the Halo story what it is. Honestly, the few canon discrepencies are often insignificant details anyway, so does it really matter?

@munchies117 I think your just about as right as you can get. I love halo. I think the story is amazing. I think Bungie should decide what happens. There is nothing wrong with liking the books but what happens in those stories isn't the definitive way things happened. They are someone's ideas and they are entertaining. I think the true fans are the ones who like Halo for the original Halo that is made by its true creators. Besides, The mystery of not knowing much about Halo is what makes it fun.

I'm not going to lie; Reach had a shitty campaign. The whole thing was crappy and predictable.
But the ending...
I could feel that Bungie had put their heart and soul into the most emotional ending for a Halo game yet.
I must applaud the ending of Halo Reach.

Any yeah, the Campaign was shit. It has so many plot holes, errors and cliche characters that died the most cliche deaths possible. And they never even cleared up what happened to Jun. The Covenant had an incredibly played down introduction, and the missions sucked ass.
Don't get me wrong, I'm a HUGE Halo fan. Right from CE., but Reach's Campaign was a HUGE let down...

@hamelzz I agree. The campaign was not great, the story was, however, Bungie has never done a good job explaining the back story or the facts. the ending itself wasn't that emotional, but the very final mission was a shocker. My friends and I discussed it for weeks.
