  • nice find man... LONG LiVE DILLA! R.I.P.

  • musical genius... RIP

  • LOL I've listened to Won't Do a hundred times and I didn't realize the first sample. What an awesome producer.

  • JYNX- DREAMWORLD

  • How could you possibly hear those two records at the start, and instantly have this incredible beat in your head? Jay's ear has always been stunning to me.

  • holy fuck i didn't know he took that first one hes so great

  • if you really think about it....Hip Hop was made because of sampling....in the Bronx they scratched records and looped em' ....so i dont get y people say sampling is not hip hop...without it there would be none of this....

  • OH MY GOD... i've heard that fist one SO man times, and NOW i hear it...

  • MAESTRO! R.I.P. JAY DEE

  • Some people who dont respect Hip Hop say stuff like "all they do is sample".

    1) Almost every producer has plenty of tracks that don't use any sampling.

    2) Sometimes those producers have some of the best beats thanks to sampling.

    3) Almost every artist of every genre have sampled music, which created new classics.

    4) There's nothing wrong with sampling, as long as it is done correctly.

    5) This song is just as good as the songs it sampled.

    6) Everyone here already knows the 5 facts above.

  • @mhaze210 actually the produced track may be much better than the original (although this is a matter of taste)

  • He also sampled dick hyman- Alfie with this song

  • @ahahahah funny ass name though lol

  • @dcbutta hehehe...you said ''dick'' and ''hymna''

  • Fuck the isely part.... Im not talkin bout that... im talkin bout the melody!!! it sounds alot like this othe 80's or 70's track i heard in shoprite awhile back... Im not sayin J sampled more then the tracks thats clearly up there, but the melody sounds very simlilar 2 the song i cant name

  • @Aye90zBaBY : Does sound like he might haxe snuck something else in there.

  • i dont know how he does it R.I.P.

  • nah, i here wut oh dude sayin, he kinda got a point, but i though he sampled more then thoses 2 songs, 0:42 sounds alot like this other R&B song from like da 70s besides the isley brothers... if anyone knows wut im talkin bout or the name of the song please let me kno

  • @Aye90zBaBY i think is the same he use the sample isley brothers vocal part he just change the pitch of the sample to make it sound like a girl making the sounds

  • @DJsorama no i think that he used E=MC2 for that 1

  • no need to even break it down. its so genius. perfectly done. he is the best!

  • wow... nice work on the digs... definitely one of the deepest beats on The Shining

  • Tghis is juust dope disection ya mean.Hip Hop Disection class 101.LOve it!

  • actually j dilla sampled another song which was a cover of that Isley Brothers tune, some female singer did it.

  • What's her name?

  • i dunno my dude, i would of said lol, i wnna find out aswell. i think it was on tht Zooden's channell.

  • Whoever she is, she sounds enough like Ron Isley that I still think that it's the Isley Brothers on that sample.

  • what? no. he pitched the isley brothers voices. thats why it sounds like women.

  • my dude, i think dilla sampled both, cus those drums are exactly the same ones as the lady who did a cover of the isley bros 1. im not tht dumb to think a pitched up vocal is a woman!

  • nah son the only cover made by that song is the group "body" and the singing is wayyy different than the isley bros. you could tell its a guy singing. and dont think, you should know if your so confident show me proof

  • bro, if i knew i would of told u.

  • well then im sorry to tell you but i think its bull. if you listen clearly in the singing part you can tell its one of the isleys with the background singers.

  • so what, dilla could of sampled both (like he sampled the instrumental and the original don't say goodnight in tht Bye joint), you ignorant fool.

  • buddy you need proof, facts. no one is going to believe you for saying some bullshit. whatever the case is about another song it still doesnt change the fact that i think your tone deaf cause thats an isley singing.

  • my nigga, i didn't say that he didnt sample the isley part, i sed he used the drums from somewhere else, n if i do find out what its you'll b the first to know about it bloodfyre.

  • thats retarded why would he do that when the drums on the isley bros. is the same. why would he go out, digg for that record, and sample the drums when he has them on one. its logic but who am i to say no one really knows except dilla, or illa j, or even ma dukes since they saw him do his thing.

  • The drums are from The Isley Bros. "Footsteps in the Dark" and the vocal sample is Ronald Isley singing. I think it's raw how he put the track together and chopped up Ronald's voice. Just great. This is one of my favorite Dilla joints!!!

  • @chicagoconnoisseur definitely real talk! Dilla is just crazyy, whatever he does.

  • awesome

  • thats not a woman ! thats The Isley Brothers - Between The Sheets!

  • lol, I eventually found out after listening

  • What sample is that of the woman in the song?

  • The Isley Brothers - Footsteps in the Dark

  • thanks

  • damn thts genius the way he put them togeva

  • ONE wont do DAMMMMM hot vid! check mine from my collection, Peace!
