never mind i just figured it out. when using "N64 Controller Adapter for USB" you have to calibrate it by going to your start menu and type in "set up USB game controllers" and cailbrate it. just use the steps BUT YOU HAVE TO MAKE SURE YOU ARE PLUGGED INTO THE RIGHT SLOT!! if your in the left it wont work. then go Project 64 configure controller plugin ans set up your buttons. hopefully that help anyone that is having any problems!
this is like the only video about using an actual N64 controller and im trying to figure out how to map the buttons. i tried going to configure controller plugin and i tried to set up the buttons but i cant seem to make it work. can someone tell me exactly what to do? maybe my controller is broken or something but please!! some one let me know what to do!
@chillincruisin, I have the same adapter but the analog stick is very slow, when iplay mario 64 mario does not move at fullspeed can you help me please
Is there any lag when using the adaptor? im looking to purchase the EXACT model you have, im planning on using it for Project64k (Online super smash bros 64) and it would only be worth buying if i could play it as if it were a real n64.
@Acolyte14 none that i could see. You just have to make sure you set all the buttons correctly. Once thats done, i couldn't tell the difference between a real N64 and this
@chillincruisin Thanks for the reply. I just have one last question: how would you set all buttons correctly? does it require calibration/extra programs, or can you just set the buttons through project64 settings?
It's painful even thinking about using an N64 controller.

@Acolyte14 you go into the controller settings, you click "set button" and then you press the button that you want to set to it. its fairly easy

@chillincruisin Okay awesome, thanks very much :)

@chillincruisin well the emulators run at 60 fps so theres a difference in frames..for example in perfect dark on n64 the fps is from around 17-35.

This is really how you get games for free..

@loling53 what...? ya, i suppose you get the rom for "free" but to be an honest person you should really only get roms of games that you own.
i own all the games that i play, its just that my n64 was dropped when i was moving and no longer functions
